314 Was there ever really a choice? There never was!

Jonathan lay in bed with Zebulon beside him. Hearing the steady rise and fall of Zebulon's breath, he knew he wasn't asleep yet.

Throughout the two days since they'd traveled home using the spatial vortex, Jonathan couldn't stop mulling over that answer.

He had posed that question because he desperately needed a definitive answer, a specific method. That answer couldn't be "no," as he lacked the time and intel to explore other paths.

Relying on a yes-or-no response to deduce or spawn new assumptions carried too much uncertainty. How could he ensure that the deduced answers or new assumptions were correct and 100% viable?

Even 99% viability with 1% uncertainty meant it was inviable. Jonathan couldn't risk being wrong, so vagueness and ambiguity were unacceptable. Playing tricks would be foolish when only one shot existed.

He needed 100%. It had to be foolproof.

Fortunately, the answer he'd received was "yes."
