36 Rollins and Sif

At the same time, Kyle appeared on the cliff and had his epic battle with Jeff; Sif and Rollins appeared in a different part of the red world.

Rollins opened his eyes slowly and saw his sister lying near him, but she was still asleep. He was still holding her hand.

When they started sinking into the red light; they instinctively reached out for one another.

"Sif, Sif, are you okay?" Rollins said to his sister. She began to stir and gently opened her eyes. She saw a strange red sky and a green sun. Her brother got up and was gently shaking her shoulders.

"I'm awake, how's G-Hawk?" she asked. Rollins shook his head and sighed in resignation.

"I don't know, he's not here. As far as I can tell it's just us." Sif sat up and looked around at the strange trees and shrubs.

Both of them stood up to see if they could figure out where they were. They didn't see any life forms near them.

"I guess we should scout out the area and see where we are?" Sif asked her brother.

"Yeah, let's take a look."

The brother and sister pair looked around and finally found a high point to view their surroundings.

"I see a road over there!" Rollins called down to his sister. He climbed up a really tall tree and was finally able to see evidence of civilization. Roads were a good sign.

Rollins and Sif made their way to the road and chose a direction to walk in. The green sun was really peculiar to them. They knew they weren't on Miras.

"Where do you think we are?" Sif asked Rollins.

"I don't know, that red floor brought us here. I wonder if we'll ever be able to return home," he responded to his sister who looked very concerned. He understood what was really bothering her.

"I'm sure G-Hawk is fine. You know how smart and strong he is, right? We only have one master each, but he managed to train under so many masters. He's probably already got a plan," Rollins said.

"I know, but he's alone, I worry about him. He's smart and strong, but he's also a kid in some ways. He can be totally clueless sometimes." She chuckled as she thought about G-Hawk.

"Yeah, I don't get why you're so taken by him. Mom and Dad, and our other brothers and sisters have been trying to play matchmaker with you for years.

You always treated those suitors with disdain. Why him? What's so special about him?" He asked his sister. He could see she was really thinking about his question.

"Shouldn't you ask yourself the same question? Brother-in-Law this and Brother-in-Law that. It's like you married us the moment you met him," she responded.

"Well, I just got a feeling you really liked him. I was happy because I was worried you would wind up an old maid. You're already sixteen and unmarried," Rollins admitted honestly to his sister.

"Who says I'm almost an old maid? I just want to marry someone I'd like to spend my life with. Those other guys, it was all about them.

I would be their ideal wife to stay at home and bear children; someone they could happily leave behind as they went off to have their adventures.

I don't want to marry someone who thinks that all I'm good for is making babies. There's more to me than that. I'm a strong warrior! I'm becoming a master of medicine and pill refining.

I could beat most of the guys, and they still thought of me as a baby factory," Sif said with a surprising amount of anger.

"You don't want to have kids?"

"Of course I want to have kids, but what happens when the kids grow up? What do I do then?" She asked her brother who seemed very unsure of what was upsetting her.

"Mom takes care of the family. She makes sure the girls who marry into the family are committed to the family and properly raise the children.

Our sisters who marry out are still connected to us because of Mom. Dad says he couldn't run the Kingdom without her." Rollins said.

Sif thought about what Rollins said. She seemed lost in her thoughts. Rollins thought his words were persuasive.

"The first time I met G-Hawk he looked like this scared kid. We attacked and tried to kill him because we thought he was a bandit.

I didn't want to kill someone so young, but the only people running around in masks were people from the Bear Droppings Bandit Group.

Hemler didn't hesitate. He was the first person to attack and we followed his lead. G-Hawk took us apart like it was nothing. He had us strip from our armor. We were all in our undergarments."

"Yeah, when I heard he stripped you down, I wanted to cut his head off. How dare he treat a lady like that!" Rollins said with a little anger on his face.

"Do you know why he stripped my armor off of me?" Sif asked.

"No," Rollins admitted.

"I asked him, and he told me he was scared of all of us. He knew we could hide some tools or weapons. He worried one of us would escape and kill him," she said.

"Yeah, so?" Rollins didn't get what her point was.

"He thought I was a threat. He was as scared of me as he was of Hemler. Ha, can you believe that? He was worried about a weak woman being able to kill him.

Those other suitors didn't take me seriously. G-Hawk was scared of me," Sif was laughing about the thing.

"Okay, he took you seriously, I still don't get it," Rollins admitted.

"Wait a minute, I'm not done. Listen, next the wind wolves were surrounding us and he set us all free and told us to run and save our lives. He even gave us our armor and weapons back," she said.

"Yeah, that's why I decided not to kill him. He's quite a hero," Rollins said.

"It's not just that he's a hero; he was scared of us, but he put away his fear of us killing him but didn't want us to die. He valued our lives even though he thought we were enemies.

How often does anyone in this world show concern for the lives of others?" Sif asked her brother.

"It's a serious weakness, but it worked out in our favor this time." Rollins shared his thoughts.

"No, you've totally missed the point! He's not strong because he can fight and he isn't brave because he will face enemies head-on.

He's strong because he will risk his life to stand by what he believes in. He's brave because even though he was scared we might kill him; he still put our lives ahead of his fears for his life.

Someone strong like that showed me respect as a warrior when he forced me to remove my armor. Then, he showed me respect as a person because he freed me to keep me from being killed.

I've never met someone as strong and as brave as him." Sif said to her brother as she recounted her thoughts about the incident. She couldn't help smiling gently as she thought of G-Hawk.

"I guess if you put it that way; he does sound pretty amazing. To tell you the truth, I thought he lost his chance with you with all that forbidden love nonsense," Rollins laughed as he recalled that evening in their home.

"Ha-ha, it made me like him even more. He's so innocent. He's not like those guys who are always fooling around with women and know how to be smooth.

After I ran the two of you off; I laughed for such a long time. It really made me happy to know he had such silly fantasies about me." Sif smiled gently as she thought of G-Hawk.

"Well, now we need to find him so we can make sure the two of you get married," Rollins said with a smile. Sif smiled back when she noticed something approaching them down the road.

"Are those soldiers?" Sif asked.
