Chapter 3

Mr.Paul turned his attention to the computer screen.

He had been busy scribbling something down on his small notebook.

Just when Mr.Paul came towards the computer, my phone buzzed.

Why was Mom calling?

I answered it.

"Hello"

"Abigail ?" , mom said from the other side.

"Yeah?", there was something about her voice . She sounded scared.

"Where are you ? Are you okay?"

"Yeah , I am fine. Why?", I said .

"I saw the news . Your sister got involved in a murder and I thought you might as well be with her and I got worried...Where are you?"

" I didn't know about the news " , I lied "and well I am with my friends" .

"Okay , come back . How many times do I have to tell you not to go anywhere at midnight and you didn't even tell me before going ", she scolded a little.

I had totally forgotten to tell Mom before coming there.

"I am keeping the phone now" I said . I was impatient. I was missing Mr Paul and Mr Fariaz' s conversation.

"Ok but come back now . If your dad finds out about it he would be angry" mom said .

I kept the phone and looked back .

Both Fariaz and Paul were absorbed in deep thoughts.

"So what happened?" I asked

"Well many things. Most of which I have to talk personally to my friend", Mr.Paul staring at the blank screen.

"You should try seeing the other computers as well", Alex suggested.

There were 4 other computers in the room but the one in which we saw the footage was the biggest and in center of the room.

"We will think about it ", Mr.Fariaz said.

"We will talk about it tomorrow in school" Mr.Paul said .

Tomorrow means today", I reminded.

" Yeah you can sleep now", Fariaz added.

"But what about the CCTV footage?", I said ignoring Fariaz.

"That's none of your business" , Fariaz said.

"Fariaz can't you be a little kind to these children? They are just trying to help", Mr.Paul said.

At least someone understood.

"Help? The others might be trying to help but this boy ", Fariaz pointed towards me , "is totally interfering"

"Girl " I said

"Whatever" he said , uninterested.

Well if you haven't guessed , I am gender fluid . That means I could change my gender anytime anywhere.

Sounds cool, right?

It is cool.

Usually I liked to be a boy but when Alex was with me I was girl because you know, what would people think about two boys dating each other?

If I were a boy I wouldn't complain dating another boy but Alex liked me as a girl.

And my name changed according to my gender.

Obviously you won't go around calling a boy Abigail.

So when I was a girl , I was Abigail and when I was a boy I was Zach or Zacharius .

And I hated if someone called me a boy when I was a girl or vice versa.

Whatever .

I didn't think I was interfering .I was trying to help

"Why do you hate me so much?", I asked my most awaited question.

Fariaz smiled and said " I like hating people"

"That's why people hate you", I murmured.

This guy is intolerable, I thought.

"Did you say anything?", Fariaz said , his eyebrows raised .

"Yeah , I said that's why people love you because you hate them so much"

He didn't say anything.

Alex said,"Let's go home, I want to sleep."

"I am sleepy too plus my head hurts ", Melis said.

We were at the entrance then .

"Hey Abigail, what will you do now?", Alex said.

"Create a thunderstorm" , I said , joking.

Atmokinesis was my other power. I could control weather.

So it's like when I am sad , it's starts raining . When I am angry, lighting strikes somewhere.

And when I am in a happy mood , it's sunny.

Well the weather doesn't totally depends on my mood . Obviously there are these water cycle and all these related to the changes in weather.

When does it starts snowing? I am not sure.

But gender fluid was better than Atmokinesis.

"I was thinking we could go to some romantic place", Alex said .

I was not in the mood.

I knew he was kidding.

So I said ," Don't try to be Romeo now when I am not trying to be Juliet now when everyone is suspecting me" I joked.

"Hey ! Everyone's not suspecting you ", Melis said consoling me

"Atleast Fariaz is ", I replied.

" Fariaz? That's his character. He suspects everyone.", Alex said

I looked at both of them and smiled," Hey, I am kidding"

"We know that ", Alex said .

We came in front of Alex's home and he said ," Goodnight guys, see you today at school"

"Goodnight ", we said together.

I changed to a boy .

I used to do that when Melis was alone with me.

"Hey ", she noticed me changing.

"Hi"

"So , what do you think about your sister?", she asked.

"Well ....", I thought a little bit and said " She wouldn't have done it if she was not forced to"

"Who do you think forced her to do it?", she asked

"I don't know" I replied.

She stopped suddenly in front of her home.

"What's wrong?", I asked.

She came close to me and touched my hair and did something with it .

"There , now you look handsome", she smiled and added, " goodnight".

"Goodnight," I said

She was adorable and caring maybe that's why our friendship was that deep.

I went to my home . My parents were asleep . I changed my clothes and got to sleep.
