Alex POV 'A Mortal escaped from a Cultivator, just how was this possible!'

Staring at the space Leo was just tied up, Alex blinked a few times...What just happened!?

Did the 'slave she would sell' just escape right under her nose!?

Now she understood everything! She thought that she had a handle on the situation, but didn't know that they were being played by the mortal boy. Now they don't even know who he is because they didn't even bother to remove the mask!

Why would they? Who in his normal senses would dare to think that a mortal would escape right under the watch of a Cultivator?

He had a teleportation artifact? Then how did he activate it? An artifact like that needs a large amount of Qi to be activated, and even if the required Qi is condensed and stored inside the artifact, then to use the Qi one had to be a Cultivator.

Just thinking about all this is making her crazy! He did have a backup plan. That young thief had planned everything through, but how was this even possible? Unless—

Unless he is a Cultivator and tricked them by...by what?

This is the first time in many years that she had encountered such a difficult-to-understand situation.

Alright. So, even if he is a Cultivator and somehow managed to hide his Cultivation base, then why was he so weak? A person in the first stage of the Body Tempering Realm is even stronger than him. He did not even look like a person that had tried tempering his body before.

A kid of only 16 years just played her—just who is the wise guy here!?

She looked around. The talkative guy that tied Leo up was just as shocked as she was. He was creasing his brows in obvious confusion.

The mysterious man had not even noticed anything yet; he was still talking to the Baron on his phone.

The other two guys she hired as guards for the night were also shocked. Just who was that boy?!

She almost asked herself if that person was Leo. The boy had blue eyes like Leo, but they did not check his face or his hair, so there is no way she could be sure that her intuition was not deceiving her.

Why would they have done that, a tied mortal could not run, so why to others about it...when they could discuss it ill morning... the mask could wait.

It wasn't until just now that she realized it; that boy never wanted them to stop bickering among themselves He revealed the fact that the mysterious man was Nux, the son of the Baron and leader of this Village. It was at the perfect time; at the time they were about to remove his mask. Maybe his artifact took a long time to activate, and all those conversations were just a facade to delay them from removing his mask.

And the boy got the pill! It was right in his pocket! Just what would people think of her if the news got out that she could not even catch a thief? Even after wasting money and preparing so much, she still failed.

No!

She couldn't just stare and think—she had to act!

"Everyone, spread your Spirit sense or Cultivation sense if you have talent or domain! It would be of help. We need to check if he stealthed himself into an invisible form. If he is just invisible and did not teleport out, then we have a chance! One strike would be able to nullify that ability."

Though it was a crazy thing to think of, a mortal without Qi would never dream of being able to use an invisible stealth technique. However, that's the best idea she could think of.

If she ever catches him, she will make sure to feed and groom him like fattening a goose before slaughter. Then she will sell him off at a high price!

He will have to pay for every single penny she had wasted just to catch him! He will pay for everything!

Immediately after she gave the order, everyone immediately started working, trying to help in any way they could. This is not just about money; their reputations as Cultivators are on the line right now! They would be objects of mockery if they were not able to provide the thief that was trying to steal from the shop.

Unfortunately for them, no one there could use domain. That kind of powerful ability is rare—so rare that only one person out of a billion would be able to awaken a domain ability. All these people could do was wait for Nux to finish talking with his father so they could ask him for help. He is their last hope.

They just started attacking blindly, in any way they could, keeping their eyes and ears open for any sign of movement.

Invisible doesn't mean that a person can't be physically touched. It only means that the person can't be seen. However, the skill can be used in addition to other skills or techniques, like The cultivation base Hiding Technique, to achieve this. This could hide his Cultivation and aura, and a person would not be able to know what level of cultivation the person using the technique is.

The fadedBody Technique could also let attacks pass through a person's body like air, but a person at a realm higher than the person using this technique can inflict significant damage.

Meanwhile, Nux was ending his conversation with his father.

"Yes Father, I will finish him once I am done with this," he said, ending the call before turning to look at the thief, or rather, the spot where the thief was. It was all in the hope that the thief's mask has been removed, so he could get the identity of the thief.

But, he ended up getting shocked by the result, as there was no thief to be seen anywhere he looked! Nux looked at Alex, his eyes conveying the question he wanted to ask.

'Where is the thief!?'

But, all he saw was Alex and her hired guards frantically attacking the air. It was already obvious as to who they were searching for.

He rushed to where she was. He had moved quite far from where even the Cultivators could hear because he did not want them to overhear what he was discussing with his father.

When he got closer to Alex, her eyes shot up, meeting his and him asking him a question he never thought he would hear from her.
