Hero's ending

"I dont understand." Thalia said. "Why would Amaltheia bring me here?"

"Amaltheia brought you here?" Halycon questioned. "I thought you were more demigods lured by treasure and ending up eaten by the leucrotae."

"Can you send that away. It is disconcerting." Halycon frowned at that.

"If I send it away I will not be able to talk." The monster said.

"Use your computer, type what you say." Lucifer said quietly. Halycon nodded and the monster snarled before leaving via a panel.

Halycon typed on the computer. "I am sorry demigods but you can not escape. You will die at sundown."

"Why?" Said Thalia angrily.

"Otherwise the monsters let me starve. They like to eat at sundown when the cage bars will rise."

"You help people die so you can eat." Luke said with rage. "That is so fucked up."

"You are right to hate me but I can do nothing to save you. You are welcome to read anything apart from my diary. And you can use the computers browser. You mentioned Amaltheia what about that goat."

"She led us here." Spoke Luke. The old man frowned at that.

"As I said I thought you were demigods coming here for the treasure."

"What treasure?" Asked Thalia. At that Halycon Opened a desk draw and withdrew a battered box made of dented steel. Luke took it from him and grimaced.

"This thing is bad news. Curse on the handle that disintegrates people." He looked at Halycon and the old man nodded whilst going grey. " However there is a village of poison here if you put in the third number correct it will flood this place with gas."

"Can you open it?" Asked Thalia. "I think this is what Zeus wanted me to find." She peered at him and Lucifer smiled inwardly. Thalia had Luke wrapped around her little finger and he would try his best.

Luke sighed and said to Halycon. "You might want to go to the bath and cover your face with wet towels it might save you." Ghe old man blanched at that but stood tall. Noticing his determination Luke focused on the safe and seconds seemed to slow. With a click everyone tensed but the door opened and Thalia kissed Luke cheek with joy. She reached into the safe and withdrew a small silver bracelet. Halycon seemed to jump with excitement clapping his hands to get them to return to the computer.

"Your the ones." He typed excitedly. "Apollo said my curse would break the day the treasure found its owner."

Everyone mulled over that. Lucifer spoke up.

"Why dont you use your powers. Look into the future and find what happens today." The old man shook his head.

"You can see what happened to be last time it happened." He typed whilst gesturing to the room. "I do not want to make things worse."

"Coward." Said Lucifer emotionlessly. Staring at Halycon he said it again. "Coward." Halycon seemed to grow angry at that and resolutely grabbed Thalias hands. He shuddered and stepped back.

"Fire. I see lots of fire in your near future."

"Fire." Luke said. "I can work with that." He stalked over to the bookcase and brought down book after book, flicking through all of them in search for something. "Ah ha." He exclaimed. "Greek fire recipe. Thalia can you call down some lightning in a minute." Saying that Luke does around the room stuffing ingredients in a jar and mixing seemingly at random. Thalia was blanching at the thought as Luke stuffed a now sealed jar in her hands.

"You are going to have to give me a while." She said as she trudged over to the electrical socket ripping it out of the wall and pulling wires. On her wrist the silver bracelet gleamed.

Halycon turned to Luke next taking his hand in his own.

"Sacrifice, choice and betrayal. All are in your future. Your path is hard to see but you will betray.." the typing cut off as Lucifer practically teleported to him and held him up by the throat.

"Luke is my brother you shitty old man he would never betray anybody." Lucifer growled menacingly. Luke shook his head at Lucifer and gestured for him to release Halycon. Taking the opportunity the old man grabbed Lucifer hand and exclaimed in shock.

"Oh you pitiable kid." He typed. "Trying to help, to belong and yet all you contribute is death. You are a walking desolation, a weapon." Luke then ran up on the man as Lucifer froze. How the man said it seemed familiar. Memories arose I his mind. A glass tube, vials and pain lots and lots of pain. He cleared his head and stopped Luke strangling Halycon.

"When the fire is ready you must hide in the closet. I will draw the leucrotae into the bathroom and throw the glass." He typed slowly.

He stood up and faced them determinedly. He handed a dagger to Luke and pointed to messages on the screen.

"A gift from the girl I saved. She promised it would protect its owner."

"I appreciate it but I have a knife already." The man shook his animatedly and pushed the dagger into Luke's hands and pointed at another few messages.

"Take my diary it has my thoughts and some predictions of the future.Learm from my mistakes. It might help you with your own decisions. Important choices come your way. Try to make things right."

He stood with his jaw clenched as he nodded at Luke. Thunder shook the house as Thalia stood away from a blacked wall, handing the glowing green jam jar to Luke. He passed it to Halycon and pushed Thalia to the closet.

Lucifer nodded stoically at Halycon and saluted him.

"I guess you are not quite a coward." He nodded again and hurried into the closet shutting it behind him. Luke had a hand over Thalia's mouth stifling protests.

"In here." Hakycons voice rang out. "I have them trapped in the bathroom." Luke whispered quietly.

"Now." He thrust the closet door open and rushed at the leucrotae's enclosure panel. Thalia and Lucifer followed him quickly. Two of the leucrotae snarled and turned to the three leaping after them. The rest of the leucrotae surrounded the son of Apollo as he slammed down the bottle of Greek fire.

Lucifer summoned his shield and blocked a leucrotae as it lunged at Luke in the tunnel. The other leucrotae also lunged and Luke said.

"Thalia the bracelet shout Aegis." Thalia's eyes widened as she did so and a large shield sprung from the bracelet on her wrist. It caused the leucrotae to whimper before fleeing the way they came. The three demigods fled the mansion as it was consumed in billows of green fire.
