Foreshadowing

Annabeth stared at Luke calmly before accepting the dagger.

"Daggers are only for the smartest and fastest of fighters. You have to dart around an enemy and take out their weak spots." He said.

"I am very smart." Annabeth said confidently. Saying this she picked herself up and looked to them. "What now then?"

"We will go get you kitted up at the nearest safe house." Luke said. "Then well the world doesn't lack opportunities."

Saying this he held out his hand to Annabeth and she held on to him as they walked out the alley and onwards.

A few months later the four of them had adventures around fighting monsters, earning money, building safehouses and taking lots of photos of the entire thing.

The four of them had just finished a difficult battle with a pack of hellhounds and as Lucifer went to strike the final one a silver arrow raced from the woods and made the monster disintegrate.

Lucifer leaped backwards and held his shield in front of him, facing the direction if the arrow. Scanning the trees warily he could see nothing out of the ordinary. Thalia came up beside him spear and aegis held ready.

They clutched their weapons as a person walked out into the light. She was tall and graceful with a slightly upturned nose and dark brown hair. Her skin looked like molten copper and their was a silver circle braided into her hair.

She looked at Luke and Lucifer and she sneered. Her whole demeanor screamed disgust at their presence. Lucifer clutched his weapons all the tighter and raised his shield noticing the bow in her hand and quiver of arrows strung across her back.

"Demigods." She spoke with a old accent. "Of course demigods."

"Who are you?" Lucifer asked in response. She ignored the question like he didn't exist and her eyes passed him to Thalia and Annabeth.

"However." She said. "Thou should join my lady." She said towards Thalia. "Thy young one is to young to join but we can escort her away from the filth." She said with a sneer at Luke and Lucifer.

"I dont think you answered the question." Said Thalia with steel in her voice. "Who are you?" The girl frowned at Thalias tone.

"I am Zoe Nightshade. Lieutenant of Lady Artemises huntress'. Any thou is?"

"My name is Thalia. She is Annabeth and that's Luke and Lucifer."

"I need not know thy names of the males. They will let you down. They are untrustworthy and disloyal."

"Did you you just say we will betray Thalia and Annabeth." Lucifer said. "For being born differently." He finished with a slight smirk.

"Yes. And thy should be quiet before I put an arrow in thy." Just as Lucifer prepared to charge her Thalia spoke up.

"I am not going to join you so why are you still here?" Zoe flushed at that her eyes hardened.

"I shall not force you but beware they will betray you and you will suffer for that betrayal." With her final words she seemed to melt in the woods.
