Chapter 3

"Are we there yet?" Kyle asks in the backseat as Mark and I play CoC on our phones.

"Almost there just be patient." Uncle Jordan replies with a smile and a slight chuckle.

=10 minutes later=

The car pulls up to a cabin with a middle-aged man who is dressed like a park ranger sitting there in the front porch of the cabin waving at Uncle Jordan who waves back.

"Ah, Jordan! You finally came! Are these the kids you were talking about, what did you call them wild?" The man says as he winks at Aunt Mia and Uncle Jordan who laugh at his words.

"Wild..." Mark, Kyle, and I reply at the same time with a frown on our faces causing the Ranger to laugh at us.

"Anyway Steve." Uncle Jordan said to the Ranger who was named Steve as it seemed. "Are you going to have them race like originally planned or are we doing something else"? Uncle Jordan questioned.

"Race, of course, Kiddos here is how today will go. There are 7 different ways up all marked with signs and easy to navigate. You 3 will race to the top where my friend Greg is waiting to receive you guys and show you all the cool spots. It is around 2 miles away from here and is uphill, it has been tested and is very safe so no need to worry about anything, ARE YOU READY!?" Steve said excitedly causing us 3 to nod with confidence and argue about who would win the race.

"Don't argue about it, do it," Steve said as he arranged us in front of a path, a different 1 for each of us. "3... 2... 1.. GO!" He yelled and we all started running as Uncle Jordan, Aunt Mia, and Steve all walk up a different path together talking and laughing as they walk.

"This should be easy with my stats" I mumble with a chuckle when I am all alone with no one to hear me. "System open my stats!"

"Not bad seems my power finally reached 5... how much would I be able to bench system"? I question.

<Host should be able to bench around 250 pounds and a max of 275 pounds>

"Yep... I am so overpowered... I love you cheat system...

As all this was happening I was still running towards the finish mark although not using nearly all my power as I did not want to beat Kyle and Mark by too much. As I was running I noticed a white flash out of the corner of my eye moving at speeds insanely quick. I instantly stop running and look towards where I saw the light only to see the moving thing speeding off at a fast speed.

"What the hell... System what was that" I ask as I begin running towards the direction I saw the light run too completely forgetting about the race.

<I am not sure Host, the object was moving at speeds not possible for normal humans.>

"Wait you said normal humans... are there humans who are not normal?" I question again as I am nearing the spot I last saw the moving thing.

<Yes host, there are people with "Powers" not like you but they are called cultivators and are extremely hidden and are only know to top-level organizations or strong governments who have cultivators of their own>

"Cultivators... Can I ever be one" I ask with wonder and hope at being someone with superpowers?

<Yes host, you can cultivate as soon as you reach Level 10 and your body is able to absorb the energy in the air needed to cultivate, also host that object or person is long gone you won't find it anywhere around here.>

"Oh..." I reply as I stop running and look around hoping to see any hints of the way to at this point. I look around notice to my right some branches are broken and I can hear what sounds like a stream. I walk towards the direction of the stream and arrive near it quickly. I do a quick scan and finally, notice that some people are swimming in the stream. There are 5 of them, they all seem to be my age and look like they are having a lot of fun.

I walk towards them and yell out to them "Hey, I am kind of lost do you know where trail 5 is around here."

At the sound of my voice they stop playing in the stream and turn around, I only now noticed that they are all girls as before they were splashing and I was too far to see clearly. They quickly look at me like an enemy and scream while running out of the water and getting towels and wrapping themselves in it before pointing towards me and screaming "Pervert!"

"Wha-WHAT DID I DO!?" I yell back with anger at being called a pervert for no reason.

"You were peaking at us play, what a useless and stupid human" a girl who had black hair and brown eyes replied. She seemed to be the oldest out of them all and more mature if you know what I mean ;).

"No, I did not, I got lost following a white streak and just wanted to know the way back..." I replied to them while talking to my system in my head.

"System she called me a human as though she is not one, is she not a human"

<System is not sure host, she does seem to be stronger than most but without closer investigation, I cannot say she is not a human.>

"Hmm... okay thanks system" I reply back in my head.

While I was talking in my head the girl turned around and said to the other girls around her, "A white streak... could he have seen younger sister Luna?" The girls around her think before nodding not saying anything.

"The trail is that way." The girl points to the left before turning away and walking away with all the other girls not even looking back at me.

"Thanks, I guess," I say before I walk away towards the direction she pointed.

As soon as I disappear from eyesight a girl wearing all white appears before them with a bored look and startles all of them for a second before they realize it is their younger sister Luna.

"Lune how did you get seen by a human, were you not using your disguise technique?" the oldest girl asked to which Luna replied with a frown.

"That's the thing... I did use it and he saw through it... He is not normal we will need to report this to the higher-ups... Hawaii might have just gotten a new cultivator and we must know where he came from." she says and all the girls gasp at her words before they use their movement techniques and disappear as if they were never there leav9ing nothing but a stream flowing with no one the wiser that they were just standing there.
