"Yes! It was a lot of fun." Mindy was happy, and didn't notice her father's subtle expression. She simply smiled and nodded hard. "Oh, right, Luke wants you to have a look at my new friends."

Damon's initially conflicted heart was slightly comforted. Good, his daughter hadn't forgotten all about her father after going out to play.

He had to calm down and try to get used to the fact that Mindy had classmates and friends, and not just him.

A moment later, he was dumbfounded as he watched Mindy and Nikki's ferocious fight on the screen. After a long while, he asked, "Is your friend also…"

Mindy naturally knew what her father was thinking. She immediately rolled her eyes. "She lives on the Upper West Side. Her father is a senior manager at some company, and her mother is an accountant."

Damon was even more surprised. "Indeed, she doesn't act like a killer, but she can actually spar with you?"

Mindy chuckled. "It's a girls' self-defense club."
