The reading practice

Before the date day.

I laid down, my face on the pillow, my heart racing, and many things were going through my mind.

— Why did I say yes? It's obvious that he called me in a date, it's only have been a week since we met, so why?' — I screamed the last part, but the pillow suppressed the sound

Thinking about him, I remember someone, I really don't want to think about him, but he keeps haunting me, never letting me forget.

He's gone, but every time I'm with Lee, I feel like if they're similar somehow.

It's not only because of that, he's really a narcissist, but he's not mean, he's rather naive and cute when acting like that. He sings really well, I was astonished when I saw him singing the first time, but I'd like to see him acting.

Do I like him? I don't know, but when I'm with him, it feels like if we were the only ones in the entire world.

— I want to see him soon.— I said, I've seen him today, but I was already missing him.

I'm struggling trying to understand my feelings, so I'll do what I always do to think about my feelings… I'll write a song. So, I took a pen and a notepad, and wrote many lines. I spent almost an hour writing, but I got what I wanted.

After finishing the lyrics, I got my guitar, and strummed a melody in my mind. It was a soft melody, that was bright and slow. I really liked that melody, so, I sang along with it.

Every word that I sang was filled with emotions, I didn't write it to show someone, I only wanted to release my feelings that were like a burden in my heart. I'm trying to forget Daniel for such a long time, I think it's good Lee called me out, I'll give me a chance, again.

Brian sent me a message? I had an idea when I read what he sent me, so I texted him.

[Can I bring a friend along?]

He took some seconds before answering.

[No problem.]

When I read his message, I turned back to Julia and whispered to her:

— Do you wanna go to the acting club with me after class? We could do something after it, maybe McRonalds, again, or anything else.

— Sure, I'll just check with mom if I can. I'll tell you when she answers. — She whispered back.

— Lee, Julia, quit talking.— Said the teacher, he looked upset.

— Lee, mom said it's okay, but I need to be home at 9 pm.— Julia looked excited as she was talking.

— Nice, so let's go? — My voice was really excited as I said it, today we're going in a date, again.

Shut up, system, everyone does something similar.

— Lee? Are you okay? — Julia asked.

— Yup, I just spaced out for a moment. — I said.

I got the phone to check out the message.

[Never mind, I'll see you next week at the rehearse.]

I didn't understand why would he cancel it, so I sent a message to him.

[What happened?]

He took a long time typing, but the only thing he sent was:

It was obvious that something happened, but he didn't want to talk about it with me. I know that we aren't friends, so I didn't care much about it.

— Hey, I had an idea, could you help me?— I asked Julia, she looked like someone that could do that.

— Idea? Help with? — She looked confused as she asked me.

—I said that I'm in acting club, right? Could you help me at my script reading practice? You're just like one of the characters of the script. — I said, trying my best to use all my skills, I wanted that begging looks of a golden retriever.

— Pleeeease, I'll buy you an ice cream.— I tried my best, and I'm sure she never saw someone cuter than I'm right now.

*Sigh*

— Okay, but you owe me two ice creams. — She said with an authoritarian tone.

— Yes, ma'am. — I said in a military posture.

After that, we spent an hour practicing, and I have to tell you, she's a great actress, she got better and better each time we read it, and so did I. To be honest, we were like in a total different place when we got in acting, felt like we got transported into the past.

I looked around, we were surrounded by countless enemies, our weapons were already broken, our bodies full of scratches, the metallic smell of blood was all around, we could hear the battle sound. Today was the last day of this revolution, and someone needed to stay alive.

— Hera, I can't hold them anymore, run or everything will fall apart. The king is at the Coliseum, go and kill him.— I said, we both were surrounded, but I was going to open a path for her.

— No, Zeus, if you fall here, I'll fall with you. I'm sure Ares can handle him alone — She looked at me, the flame of determination was burning like a wild best in her eyes.

I could do nothing, but smirk, I couldn't have anyone better than her. Our backs were against each other, we could feel the cold sweat from both of us, but even in a moment like that, she didn't leave me alone.

I blinked my eyes, and I was back at the classroom, I took some time trying to realize what happened. When I looked at Julia, looked like she was trying to understand it too, I really don't have a clue about what happened.

— Wow, what was that? — We both said at the same time.

Both of us were shocked, we got really immersed in that. I can swear that I saw her like another person, she looked like the description of Hera.

That got me really surprised, feels like system skills are more than the description says. 'System, why didn't you said about it to me before?' I had no idea why System kept it to itself.

— I… I don't think I want it, but I can help you with your practice, it was really fun. —She said, marveled, and with a big smile in her pretty face.

When I saw her smiling, my hand went into her hand, I looked into her eyes, our faces getting closer.

— Noooo....— She pushed me away.
