8 The date II

When we got at McRonalds we asked for hamburgers and french fries. We were talking about random things that happened in class this week.

— You saw Mr. Lawrence? He got with a big line in his cheek, cuz he dropped the marker on his face. I… HAHAHA, He was so ashamed, the whole class laughed at him — I said, trying to hold my laugh, but when she laughed I couldn't hold anymore.

— Hahaha, I know, right? He was looking like Rurouni Kenshin, from Samurai X.— She laughed while saying.

Loud laughs could be heard in McRonald's, things were going great. I told her some silly joke, latter she'd told me some even sillier jokes, even after 30 minutes we kept talking, just enjoying each other. I don't know why, but I felt like we had a connection really fast, like if we have known each other for ages, that was a good feeling to be honest.

Some time latter we went to the bowling, I never played it, but it shouldn't be this hard, right? I've sawn a purple ball, I put my fingers in it, and then went forward. I looked back and said:

— Julia, look at how you should do. — I said with a presumptuous smile.

When I threw the ball, it went right in the gutter. I couldn't believe, right after such an act.

— HAHAHAHA, so that's how I should do?— Julia fell about laughing at me, at the end I laughed too.

— Now, I'll show you how you truly do.— Julia said, I was sure she would miss too, but somehow her confidence made me think if she'd do a strike.

She took the ball and walked calm and confident, she took a breath in, breath out, and then threw the ball. The ball rolled fast, it took only three seconds till it reached all the bowling pins.

— Strikeeee.— She said jumping out of happiness, I got shocked for an instant, but I was really glad for her, as she was jumping I didn't think straight, and then I hugged her. She was ecstatic, so we just were celebrating her strike, but after some seconds we realized that we were hugging.

Things felt awkward, but she managed to change the subject quickly.

— I said I'd show to you.—She did an arrogant smile, and raised her eyebrow, like if looking down on me. But a few seconds latter, she said:

— To be honest, that was my first strike, I've never gone bowling before. It's really fun.— She was really happy.

— That's my first time too, but I think it's obvious, I'm not a genius like someone.— I said, trying to joke about it.

After that we kept playing, I even did some strikes too, every time that we did a strike we hugged each other, not like if it was romantic or something, it was just that we were celebrating. I really enjoyed that moment, I asked my self why I didn't do things like that in the past.

— Should we go home? It's going to be 10 pm soon, we should get going.— I said, worried that her parents and my mom could freak out if we got too late in our houses.

— I think it's ok.— She looked a bit disappointed, but it's better this way.

After that we went walking till the subway, we talked about many things, as we got there I said:

— Bye, Julia.— I didn't want it to end.

— Bye, Lee. — She said, and I watched she's going away as she got in the train. I tried to reach her and stop her, but I couldn't, we would see each other tomorrow either way. Many feelings went through my mind, but I'm mostly happy about today.

When I got home, mom asked me:

— Hey, son, how was your date? Is she pretty?

— It was fun, mom, we went to McRonald's and bowling. It was really fun. She's wonderful, almost as pretty as me. — I said, remembering the moments that happened just some time ago.

— Looks like my boy is in love, your eyes shine when you talk about her, but why you have to be such a narcissist?— Mom said, and she's right, I'm really in love.

I'm in love. There's no way I could run from it, now the only thing I should do is try to get closer to her and ask her out.

— Yeah, first time, I think. Good feeling, though.— me and mom always talked about everything, since dad is always working, we're really close.

— Either way, I should sleep, son you should go too. You have classes tomorrow.— Mom said, I just gave her a good night hug, and went to sleep.

------------------------------------------

Today I really woke up early, I'm feeling really glad today, I should do some script reading, Brian send me the script yesterday. I don't really know how did he get my number, but I'm glad I can practice.

— Hera, you've been my only reason to keep fighting…— I was reading the script, but it didn't felt right. I stopped and thought about what I could do to improve in that part.

—No, I should've put some tension in this phrase and talk slower, also should tremble my voice, like if had some uncertainty in it.— I mumbled what I thought that would improve my acting.

I kept reading and thinking what I could improve, until it was time to go to the school. I put a white shirt, blue jeans, a white sneaker, A basket ball jacket, from the Chicago rats, my favorite basketball team.

I got to school early as every day, went to class and Julia was there again.

—Hey, sup.— I called her, trying to hide a smile.

—Sup, Lee.— She said, I just looked at her, somehow she looked prettier today.

— You're pretty today, damn.— I couldn't hold, but say it to her, honestly I was surprised.

— But not as much as me. — I said, trying to hide my embarrassment with that.

— You can't even compliment me without saying something about you? But thanks, you're handsome too, but not as much as me.— She said, mocking me.

Both of us laughed after that, but I really had to tell her.

— Being honest, you are really prettier today.— I said, but this time I wasn't joking.

Looked like she wasn't expecting that I'd say this seriously, so I got her off guard. Her cheeks and nose got really red, looked like a tomato. Honestly, I'm embarrassed, she's too cute when she's shy.

Trying to escape from the awkwardness, I said:

— This time I brought the buds, want to listen something? — I said, showing her one of my buds.

— Nah, I'd like to listen you sing something.— She said.

— Only if you sing something to me, you're still owing me a song, don't you dare think I forgot.

—Tch.— She clicked her tongue.

She really thought I'd forget?

— Let's listen enemy, from Imagine fishes, on our next date I'll sing something for you.— She said, and I got really shocked, I thought I was the only one who thought it was a date. This time I was the one who got shy.

—So cute, getting shy over such a thing.— She said, I raised an eyebrow looking at her, she was all red right now, and said something like that. She really has some guts… well, not literally.

Bzzz... Bzzz. Bzzz.

My phone's vibration, looks like I got a message.

[Come to the acting club after the class end, I need your help with something]
