Chapter 14

The three Jōnin surrounded Baki and the kids once they saw the girl crumple to the ground unconscious. Pakura silently picked up the girl with a compassionate look on her face and gave a pitying look on Belial while Yashamaru respectfully picked up the boy and grasp his hand.

*Ba-bump* *babump*

"Pakura-sama, Baki-san, this boy.... He has a pulse! But his heart definitely stopped!

And it's faint, but he's still breathing... How can this be..." (Ehem, Gamers Body is at work)

They four of them instantly became curious, but they have to suppress it cause there are more urgent task to do.

This was an interesting turn of events, Baki thought. They split there team on the way.

"We need to split the team, I will send these two to the village, you three go and save the other children on the desert they must have suffered enough." Pakura said

The others nodded in understanding to his explanation. They followed along on that much easy enough.

The four began ninja-jumping and split in their way, one Pakura, back to the Sand Village carrying the two children who were at the center of this strange day. The other three are on their way to save the other kids.

While they are ninja jumping in the sand, Yura can see the shock still lingering on his face.

"Baki, what happened? Why did you look at her in shock?"

How was he going to explain this to the others? The truth was as good of a start as any. "From what I can tell, that girl certainly does not awakened only one dojutsu in her open maybe her other hidden eye also possess a different kind of dojutsu."

Which was strange in itself.

"Whatever it is I can still feel the chill running up my spine that time. She has the other in her left eye for sure. And that also boy..." Baki stopped himself as he tried to figure out the best way to phrase his next words. No sense dancing around it. It's going to shock them regardless.

"Maybe her right eye now also holds a unique Dojutsu."

"What?" the two Jōnin asked in shocked unison.

He was aware of how crazy that sounded. Not only does it sound ridiculous its even absurd to hear that.

The only thing he knew was that there are some elite members in the Uchiha and the their Sharingan was a great power.

Even a non member that he knew of like Kakashi as the only holder of that dōjutsu without that bloodline. Display amazing prowess and was known as the Copy Ninja.

Also there's the Byakugan from the Hyuuga clan, who can use their sight as a sensor in a range of 50 meters and above.

This mysterious girl now held two great dōjutsu in her eyes and somehow also knew Shadow Possession. She was definitely of Nara blood, but as far as anyone knew it is in Konaha.

With the way she reacted, I doubt she even knows who the Nara Clan are.

"How is that possible? There is no way a kid can possess that kind of power," Yura pointed out. Baki wasn't sure how it was possible, but it was.

"I don't know," Baki conceded. "Her knowledge of a Shadow Possession Jutsu and unlocking of the Dojutsu, there is no way to know for now but we can ask about it later."

If one of her parents happened to be a Nara and she hadn't learned the Jutsu through other means then that would give them a lead to follow to find out exactly who this girl was.

It would all depend on how forthcoming the investigation would be with that information and if they actually had records of whomever this girl's parent had been.

There was a thoughtful silence between the three Jonin for a few long minutes.

"Do you think we should split up and look for the other kids?" Yashamaru asked.

Baki had thought of that but they didn't even know where to start other than the clue for the general direction.

Their mission had been to find what the disturbance was and see if it was another village's shinobi fighting a squad of Sand ninjas or if it was rogue ninjas.

Currently, they had more pressing matters with solving the missing children.

Baki finally shook his head after thinking a bit longer about the question. "No. We should stay together I have a gut feeling that we will be near soon. And also maybe Pakura has already reached the village and brought those two to a Medic-nin to heal."

Another thoughtful silence fell between them until all three nodded in agreement.

Hopefully, they would find the other missing kids sooner.

"She and that boy will become an asset in the village then," Yura stated.

The Strict-faced Ninja nodded. That was a fact he knew for certain. Becoming a ninja was the only way they would be able to bolster their strength and become stronger, and she would definitely become stronger if that cold stare was any indication.

The killing intent that came off the girl… He had experienced far more potent levels of it in his time as a shinobi, but the amount that flooded off of her in that moment… He'd be a liar if he said it didn't send a shiver down his spine.

Hearing those words from their mouths Yashamaru also remembered about the figure of Gaara who he was taking care of, who was being octracize by his own father. He couldn't help but sighed helplessly.

He figured out the cold reality of what a ninja really is. Seeing those who recently turned 4 years old leaving the orphanage must have had an effect on him.

If only these children be given a chance to enjoy their childhood, instead of being forced to grow up early.

The gist of their conversation between them made him remember a recent law ordered by the Kazekage that affects all orphans.

The Kazekage and Shinobi Advisory Council passed a law stating that any orphan who are four years of age will be conscripted into the Ninja program.

They'll be relocated from the orphanage and placed into an apartment complex along with a stipend to teach them how independence, self reliance, and money management. They'll then attend the Ninja Academy, instead of a regular civilian school.

Those that don't make the cut will be dropped out of the Ninja Program and attend the Civilian Academy.

The leader's reasoning for implementing this law is to bolster and recover Suna's shinobi forces after the 3rd Shinobi world war just in case of an invasion by Iwagakure or Kirigakure.

But mainly the threat of Iwagakure because there's some deep seated hatred between the two nations.

But he see what they're doing. By giving the orphans a personal room for their own and a stipend for necessities, this will lessen the burden on orphanages. It's also the best time to start the brainwashing process and instill some beliefs, when they're young and ignorant.

Another reason they initiated this program is to find someone that has natural talent or a prodigy because there hasn't been a famous shinobi from Suna since Sasori. It's like they're gambling on the idea that out of 100 random orphans, there'll be a few that are diamonds in the rough.

(A/N: For those who read this novel thank you! Actually I almost forget some of the direction that I initially made many months ago, so there will obviously be many plot holes. I know sometimes its weird and doesn't make sense but I think you need to throw your real life logic in a Sakuracan cause in my opinion that's how Anime logic works.

Ps. I just want my own version of Naruto. besides this is just a rip off anyway.)
