2 Conversing With A God(?)

(Ryan POV)

It was a normal day.

Nothing particularly interesting happened to suggest anything special would happen. It was just a normal day.

So then why...why is a flying truck about crash into the window I'm currently standing behind?

As I stood there, watching the truck fly closer and closer to my window, many different thoughts and emotions were circulating in my head.

Shock...Panic...Fear

It all went through me in quick succession before finally...I felt a calm acceptance wash over me.

I was going to get hit by this flying truck...and I would almost definitely die.

This was the sole thought that dominated my mind as the flying truck finally collided with the window. I heard a loud crash...I felt a massive amount of force push against my body...then everything went dark.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I opened my eyes...only to see the view of nothingness. All I saw was and endless and empty white void.
However, I could feel that I was lying against something rather soft. I raised my head and looked at my surroundings.
I saw an endless expanse of black grass. At least...it looked like grass, but then again I have never seen grass like this before.
Looking out into the distance...I couldn't help but think the scenery looked like a canvas. A canvas that had its bottom half covered with black paint, but had its upper half left untouched.
As I gazed at the strange landscape, it suddenly occurred to me that I was unnaturally calm. Not only was I in this alien place, but I had also just gotten hit by a flying truck.
Despite these facts...I didn't feel any panic or concern. It was like my own death didn't concern me in the slightest.
"You must be Ryan."
As I pondered the weird circumstances I found myself in, I heard a deep melodies voice behind me.
I turned around to see a figure that looked like a middle age man. He had dark brown hair and eyes that were almost as black as the grass that surrounded us. His face had sharp features with a bit of stubble surrounding his thin lips.
While I was studying his facial features, his face changed into that of an old man. His face now had wrinkles that suggested a long life. His once dark stubble, now a long gray beard.
Once again his appearance changed. This time he looked like a young boy of around ten. His face still had a generous amount of baby fat. The beard was gone...now replaced with a smooth hairless chin.
I was flabbergasted at how his appearance changed three times within the span of maybe twelve seconds. As I sat there in a state of shock...a sudden feeling of serenity enveloped my mind. Just like that...I was once again calm and collected.
"I bet your wondering what exactly is happening right now, but don't worry. I'll explain everything to you."
The boy...no wait...he was the middle aged man again...said to me in his deep voice.
"So...ask any question and I will answer to the best of my abilities."
It was pretty obvious what my first question was going to be.
"Why does your appearance keep changing?"
"Oh that? Well...this part of me is supposed to represent some of the most important times during a persons life. So far you have seen me in three different phases of the human lifespan."
"Are there more phases?"
"There are indeed more, but those phases are a bit more unstable and harder control. Anyways...besides my appearance...is there anything else that you are curious about?"
I thought over what I should ask him next. It was hard to choose on what to ask since there were so many different questions running through my mind.
"Why am I here?"
I decide that this question was the most important at the moment.
The man(?) smiled and nodded his currently old and balding head.
"Ah yes...the reason why you are here. Well actually...the reason is fairly simple. You are here to help me fix a little problem."
I couldn't help but raise my eyebrow at what the guy said.
"You mean to tell me that you...who I'm assuming are some type of god...killed me via flying truck because you needed me to fix one of your problems?"
The guy visibly cringed at my words. This simple action of his pretty much confirmed my previous accusation.
"Well when you put it like that it makes me sound a bit selfish."
Any presumption that this guy was some charming and graceful god was immediately thrown away.
"Anyways...don't call Truck-kun a flying truck. I'll have you know that he is a highly respected and high ranking operative in my organization. He is the best assassin a good could ask for."
"I have first hand experience of how good of an assassin Truck-kun is."
Once again, the "god" visibly cringed at my words. I could only sigh seeing his reaction. It still slightly confuses me how I'm able to stay calm in a situation like this.
"Hey...what is going on with me being abnormally calm? I really doubt I should be this calm given the current circumstances."
"Eh?...Oh! There is a pheromone that emanates from the grass. This pheromone has a soothing effect on living organisms, making more calm and collected. It's something I added to the grass due to the number of times people would have a breakdown when they arrive."
Well that certainly explains why so am so calm. Apparently other people have been brought to this place, though I shouldn't be too surprised.
"Before you ask anymore questions...could I tell you what my problem is?"
The gods current humble personality was so vastly different to his refined and dignified personality from earlier, that I couldn't help but nod my head.
"Good! Now my problem lies with one of the worlds that are under my jurisdiction. Apparently the natural balance between good and evil is becoming more and more unstable as time goes on."
"Let me guess...you want to reincarnate me into this world in order to restore this balance or whatever?"
"Exactly!"
The gods eyes lit up as he responded to me in an excited and childlike voice. This was unnerving due to the fact that he currently looked like a wrinkly old man.
"So you want me to defeat some evil monster...or maybe there's a demon king that is spreading mayhem across the land?"
"Well...not exactly..."
"Hmmm?"
"The thing is...there isn't an excess of evil within this world, but an excess amount of good."
As soon as those words left his mouth, I immediately started to have a bad feeling in my gut.
"W-What is that supposed to mean?"
The bad feeling got significantly worse after the gods next words.
"It means that I need you to spread evil within the world in order the restore the natural balance."
