27 Rei's Dilema and Rias's New Piece.

Serafall picked herself up with a sigh as she looked at Grayfia who was giving Vander a proud smile. She was glad he managed to defeat Serafall as she felt it was vengeance for her loss.

"Grayfia, where did you get that monster? His instinct for combat is god-like and his energy feels Divine, cursed, and draconic all rolled up in one. Not to mention those gauntlets and halberd are divine weapons. How did he get them? No, what the hell is he?"

Grayfia shook her head.

"You are asking the wrong person? When I turned Vander into my queen piece, I thought he was human. However, that is very wrong as he was never human to start with. I only know that whatever he is, he is strong."

Serafall turned to look at La Folia and Naerdeath who might know the answer. However, they left the training room before she could ask. She was super curious about what he was and wanted to know. As she was deep in thought Rei rushed her and gave her a big bear hug.

"Are you ok? You didn't get hurt did you."

Serafall smiled and nodded.

"I am just fine. The fight was probably too fast for you to see, but none of us managed to hit the other the whole fight. I managed to just barely dodge all his attacks and he destroyed all of mine. It was more of him throwing me around without being able to hit me."

Grayfia agreed as she began to leave.

"You are right. Vander's attacks never managed to touch you while he destroyed all of yours. The most damage he took was from himself and not you. However, if any of his attacks had hit you, you would be dead."

Serafall's face turned bitter.

"Don't have to rub it in."

Grayfia turned to her with a small smile.

"I just might. He did get revenge for me after all."

She left the training room afterward to find Vander to see if he was hurt. Nerezza appeared at her side with a bow.

"Sir Vander has been taken to his room."

"Nerezza, how is he?"

"He is fine, the wound he inflicted on himself has already closed. The biggest issue he has is probably exhaustion and lack of energy. Lady La Folia has explained he will be up on his feet within the hour though."

Grayfia sighed in relief that he was ok.

"Let's go see him."

"Yes."

They teleported into Vander's room where they saw he was laying on his bed snoring. Toxin and Terror were laying down next to him making sure no one harmed him. As for La Folia and Naerdeath they were sitting at his side waiting for him to get up.

Naerdeath herself was checking up on the new form of Dawnbreaker that was very quickly returning to normal.

"So his blood can cause it to awaken into a stronger form? Interesting."

La Folia was looking at the weapon in her hands with some curiosity and hesitation to touch it.

"Is there a reason that you are not getting killed by it? I heard Soul Bound weapons don't like to be touched by anyone other than their master."

"Oh that. Well, my dad made it and I share his blood so the weapon respects him and by extension me. I can't use it, but holding it won't kill me. Plus, Vander loves us. His weapon would not hurt us."

La Folia was not convinced.

"You sure?"

"Catch."

Naerdeath tossed her the halberd which she instinctively caught. She was worried for a second, but just as Naerdeath said, she did not get zapped.

"Oh, your right."

Grayfia called out to the both of them as they had not noticed her.

"How is he?"

La Folia was not worried as she knew him quite well.

"He will be fine. He is just running low on energy."

Naerdeath was ready to make him something hearty to eat after he woke up.

"Once he wakes up I will feed him till his belly burst."

Just as she finished saying that Vander's dark green eyes opened up.

"Did someone say food? Naerdeath's food?"

Naerdeath jumped to her feet and rushed to his side.

"Yes, you hungry?"

"For your cooking, I am always hungry."

She smiled with joy that he liked her cooking that much.

"Thank you. Here, you dropped this."

She handed him back Dawnbreaker which he took into his hands.

"Thanks."

He sent it and his Duskborne gauntlets back to his soul which began to help him recover. He got off the bed a little unsteady as he was truly exhausted. La Folia walked up to him and helped him stand.

"Easy big buy. You don't have to get up so soon."

Grayfia had to agree.

"She is right, just take some time to relax. You fought a Satan and won. Not just anyone as young as you does that."

Nerezza nodded.

"She is right sir. Please, just take some time to rest. You need it."

He sighed as he got back into bed.

"Fine, 30 minutes. I am just curious how she took her loss."

Grayfia sat down with a smile.

"Biitterly? Did I ever tell you how I once challenged Serafall for her title of Leviathan?"

La Folia shook her head as she never heard that.

"No, but I take you lost."

Grayfia nodded.

"The fight could have gone either way until she pulled out the last move that she used on Vander. Even that was destroyed by you Vander. You did good and I am extremely proud of you."

He gave her a toothy smile.

"Thank you for the praise."

La Folia pushed him back down.

"Don't compliment him, mom. He will get used to it."

He smiled even more.

"Damn right I will."

Naerdeath ran off to get to cooking. La Folia, Vander, Grayfia, and Nerezza just had a small conversation as she did that. It was mostly about what they wanted to accomplish. La Folia thought about that question and had one answer.

"To be the strongest Devil in existence. No, I want to become something above even a Super Devil. I want to be the first Devil to become a god. That is my goal."

Nerezza thought of the question and smiled.

"I feel that I have found my goal. I just wanted to find somewhere to be accepted even for being a half-blood. I found that in the Gremory family and in Sir Vander's charge."

Now they looked at Vander who shrugged.

"I want to collect as many cool weapons, monsters, and treasures. I have the heart of a collector after all."

Just as he finished speaking Naerdeath returned with a massive cart of different dwarven dishes.

"Food's ready."

Vander jumped off the bed and gave her a big hug. He picked her up off the ground and gave her a small kiss on her cheek.

"I love you so much."

He put her down as he began to devour the food she made. Her face was bright red as that was the most affection she had received from Vander. La Folia's eyes were twitching in jealousy which Vander noticed.

He gave her a wink as he bit into a fried potato.

"Did you want me to tell you that as well? I will if you want. I, love, y-"

"STOP!"

She rushed to him and covered his mouth. Her face was a little flushed as she did not want him to tell her that in front of her mom. He winked at her which made her stop covering his mouth. Grayfia just looked at the two of them with a small smile

"I will leave. I have my duties to attend to in the Underworld."

La Folia gave her mom a small hug.

"Take care mom."

Vander gave her a smile.

"Take care mother-in-law. Tell Sirzechs I say hi."

A teleport circle opened under her feet and in a flash of blue, she was gone. Vander looked at La Folia and finished it.

"Love you."

Her face turned a little pink.

"I know."

Nerezza excused herself and left them alone. Vander continued to eat and felt how his body broke it all down for energy. Somehow the food that the dwarves cooked made it extra full of energy and delicious.

La Folia went up to the cart and began to eat some as well.

"This is amazing."

Naerdeath was just glad she was good at this as La Folia was not.

"I am glad you like it so much."

The three of them finished the whole cart as they could eat massive amounts of food. As for Vander, he felt great. He sighed in relief as he stretched out a little.

"You will make a great wife one day. For me that is."

He winked at her which made her heart skip a beat.

"I am glad you already think of me that way."

"I think that way about the both of you."

Hearing how he thought of them both that way made their hearts skip a beat. La Folia wanted to enjoy that feeling a little longer, but she asked her previous question one last time.

"Vander, I asked you this before, but besides us, will you take any more women? A man as powerful as you will surely attract women. You could have a harem as large as my grandfather's or bigger. You don't want that, but what will you do if more women come to love you."

He began to exit the room as he thought about it. He never wanted to take a large harem as he was never a lustful guy. He honestly was just happy to have fun than to think of that. La Folia being so similar to him changed that and Naerdeath was just the kind of girl he liked.

They were exceptions, but what would he do if more women like them appeared? What if he did start to love them? As he was in deep thought Terror flew up to his shoulder like a parrot.

"To tell you the truth, I have no clue. I guess I just never thought of having a harem as a goal. You two were honestly a miracle with how much I ended up liking you two. I won't say that I will reject all women as that would just be cruel. However I won't just accept anyone. My feelings matter too don't they?"

La Folia and Naerdeath looked at each other with smiles on their faces as they felt special. If Vander choose them it meant he really liked them. La Folia was especially happy as he was totally different from all the Devils in the Underworld.

He reminded her of her cousin Sairaorg who she loved like a brother.

"You would get along with my cousin Sairaorg."

He raised an eyebrow.

"We would?"

She nodded.

"You two have that same fire and drive in your eyes. To do what you want without anyone telling you no. What do you think Naerdeath?"

The dwarf girl agreed with everything she said.

You are the best thing that could have happened to me. Not only did I finally meet a man I like, but I also did it before reaching 100. My dad teased me saying I would end up alone for the rest of time. I proved him wrong."

Vander walked out of the room followed by the two of them after they let go of him.

"Yeah, 56 isn't bad at all for a dwarf succubus. How long do dwarves live really?"

She thought back to the stories her dad told her.

"30,000 on average, however, that is extended by how strong they are. The most powerful dwarf ever to live is the current King of the dwarves named Thralgrurim Hornshoulder. He is 150,000 years old and has been king since then.

My father saw him once when he was a young boy and the king told stories of the ages past. He spoke of the Esir-Vanir War and even when Odin was still young and a warmonger. He became a pervert later in his years though."

La Folia now wanted to hear that story.

"Remind me to speak to your dad to tell me that story. As Devils live at the least 10,000 years and more with power, you will live quite a long time. As long as you get stronger we can be with each other forever."

Vander liked the sound of that.

"That sounds great. I will have to have Krumdrum forge you two some god-level gear. Without that, I would have lost to Serafall. The same goes for my dual resonance, I also would have lost so I kind of cheated."

La Folia remembered about that.

"Right, you have to teach me how you did that? I have tried it in the past, but I can't ever get it to work."

"Oh, Ripper and Daisy are related so they were rather easy to resonate with."

Hearing that made La Folia and Naerdeath confused.

"How? They look nothing alike?"

He shrugged as he began to walk away to find Serafall.

"Well, that is just how it works. As they are related, they managed to resonate."

As they walked La Folia began to work on some theories on how to resonate with her Qiong Qi and her Demon. They were the most likely to work as a Qionq Qi was a fiend and evil.

As she did that, Naerdeath asked Vander the question on her mind."

"You won, but are you going to be nicer to Rei?"

He looked at Naerdeath who was curious about it.

"I was never mean to begin with. I am just having the normal reaction to that whole situation. I will just tell her to not hug me and to keep her hands to herself."

La Folia nodded.

"That is for the best. So will you be giving Serafall Rei then?"

Vander thought about it as she would be able to train and make sure of Rei better than he would.

"If she can give me something of equal value. She is quite talented after all."

At that moment Nerezza appeared at Vander's side in a swarm of bats.

"Sir Vander, do you need something?"

"Oh yes, can you least me to Serafall?"

"Certainly. This way."

Following her made things so much easier as they found Serafall and Rei in the main gathering area. They were sitting on the couch as Serafal taught her some magic. However, most of the spells were magical girl inspired which just made Vander cringe.

"Can you not do that when you cast a spell?"

Serafall just gave him a small smile.

"Everyone has a different way to get a feel for magic? It is also cute."

Vander face palmed as she made him dislike the whole Magical Girl genre more than ever.

"I swear you will make my brain melt."

Rei got off the couch and approached Vander, but did not hug him this time.

"Are you ok? You seemed quite hurt and tired."

"I am fine. No harm done."

He walked past her as he sat down on the couch next to Serafall. She had returned to her more casual clothes which was great.

"So how long do you intend to stick around?"

She was running away from her duties so she didn't want to stay too far for long.

"Maybe a day or two."

Vander looked at Rei and brought it up.

"Rei, I suggest you go with Serafall and join her peerage. There is not much I can teach you as I would prefer for you to be a Berseker and I would push you to do this. Your talent in magic is weaker than your talent for physical violence.

Of course, magic would have to be secondary, but you won't enjoy that. What do you have to say about this?"

Rei thought about it as she looked at Vander.

"But I want to stay with you? That is why I came here?"

Naerdeath sat down next to Vander and gave her the truth.

"I suggest you go with Serafall. Vander will make you focus on your physical strength first thing with magic being secondary. Are you willing to give up being a magical girl to be what Vander wants? As I will be honest, your talent is best suited for a Rook piece with magic as secondary."

La Folia had the same idea.

"A Bishop piece would weaken your natural talent for physical combat. A Rook will emphasize your body, but plenty of Rooks are still great mages. Only that they don't specialize in it and neither would you."

Rei looked at the three of them as staying would mean she would be giving up her biggest dream. Serafall sighed but did not refute them.

"They are right. Your talent for being a Rook is one of the greatest I have seen. The Bishop won't remove that talent, but it will weaken it. Staying with Vander will mean you will become a Rook specialized in being a warrior.

Coming with me will mean you will be a Bishop first and melee fighter second. A Magical Girl like you want."

Rei thought of it as her biggest dream or staying with Vander who would take that away from her. It was not out of spite, but he wanted the best of the best for his future peerage. He would not accept wasted talent and would reject her from his peerage if she did not become his second rook.

Vander looked at her with serious eyes, but he felt his contract card react. Someone was requesting a Devil contract at this moment and urgently.

"Take your time and think about it. I need to take this."

La Folia looked up at him.

"Can I come?"

He nodded.

"Sure, Naerdeath you want to come?"

"Of course."

Both of them walked up to him and he teleported away in a flash of purple fire. When they appeared at the location of the caller they saw it was a park. Vander looked down and saw Issei gasping for air as he held a Devil contract sheet.

"Oh, it's you. The perverted monkey I punched earlier. If this is not the biggest serving of serves you right I don't know what is."

Issei looked up at the three of them with just moments left to live. His eyes began to close as he was reaching his limits. Right now he just wanted to see Rias one last time, but these three were worse. Not even a shred of sympathy could be seen in their eyes.

They even looked at him with contempt. La Folia looked down at him as she saw his wound.

"He was attacked by a Fallen Angel. That is a spear of light wound. It is a miracle he is still alive. Even luckier he got a Devil contract flier. Guess his will to live is strong."

Just as they were talking Rias appeared in a flash as well. She was surprised to see Vander, Naerdeath, and La Folia standing over Issei.

"What are you three doing here? I should be the only one who can answer his summon."

Vander showed her his black I.D. Seeing it left her shocked.

"That is a master card. You can take the contracts of other members of the Gremory family with this. That is beside the point, I came for him."

She kneeled in front of Issei and began to use some healing magic on him as Vander was not going to do it. Naerdeath looked at Issei who closed his eyes but was alive.

"Why would you come for him? He is just a regular human right? He is even the worst kind of human? A total degenerate."

Vander kneeled down and wiped some of Issei's blood with his finger. He smelled it and noticed something. It was weak, but it was dragon-like.

"Nope, this perv is part dragon or something."

Rias thought it was gross to see him smell blood off the floor.

"I noticed it after you punched him, Vander. Whatever you did was enough for his Sacred Gear to activate a little. I want to add him to my peerage for this reason."

Vander looked at her with a questioning look on his face.

"He might have a sacred gear, but do you know if it is a good one? What if it is just a useless one."

She shook her head as she could feel it. His was going to be good.

"Just trust me with this Vander. I know for a fact he will be a surprise."

Vander started to walk away.

"Do whatever you want with him? However, if he looks at La Folia or Naerdeath wrong one more time, I will kill him. Remember that."

La Folia squinted her eyes as she waved Rias goodbye.

"Once Vander kills him, I will give his soul to my Demon to play with. Demons eat souls, but did you know they love to torment souls before they do."

Naerdeath clapped with glee at the great idea.

"That sounds great. I will love to watch."

A teleport circle appeared under their feet and they vanished in a flash of purple flames. Rias sighed as she picked up Issei who needed some real help. She teleported to his house to really heal him. She would have to make sure he learns to keep his eyes off of La Folia and Naerdeath. She did not want to lose her new peerage member so soon.
