3 Chapter 3: Abilities
The next day, after we woke up we were served a high class breakfast. Then they gathered us on a vast, dry field. There we were explained what an ability is and how we can use it.
An ability is a special power, such as magic, which comes in handy during a fight. The first step is to identify what type of ability a person can use. Then it's all up to how well that person can imagine himself using the ability.
They identified everyone's abilities by using a device. Apparently I had an ability called "Odd eye". Of course everyone there was confused because they had never seen anything like this so I also acted along. Since they had no advice to give to me on how to use the ability, they left me be and focused on the others. The most notable abilities out of my classmates were " Necromancer" given to a girl named Anna,
" Transformation" given to Mason, " Copy" given to David and " Healing" to a girl named Sasha. The others were given normal abilities such as fire magic, assassin, magic swordsman etc.
Since I had a lot of fre time I decided to just sit back and observe my classmates.
" Why are you just relaxing over here while your friends are going through that tough training? Are you a genius or something?"
A girl about my age with long, blonde hair, wearing an armour said to me in a very irritated way. I decided to have some fun and answered arrogantly...." Yes, somewhat"
When I said this I could see how frustrated and furious she was. " How dare you!!" She said in a very strong tone.
She seemed to be a girl with a strong sense of justice as she did not retort to violence even after I irritated her.
As she could do nothing about me she just left me there and went to the chief. After her talk with the chief she gave me a disgusted look and left.
After observing my classmates for a bit I left my position and walked towards the chief. I called out to him...." hey chief! Its allowed to go outside the castle right?" I asked in casual way. " Yes, as long as you dont cause trouble." He answered. I smiled and left the field.
I walked towards the Kings room. When I was about to enter I heard someone talking. It was the girl which I had teased a while ago. She was talking to the King.
" Father, who is that black haired boy? Why is he allowed to act so freely while his friends go through tough training?"
Asmal looked a little hesitant to answer so I helped him out a little by walking into the room casually. " You talking about me?" I asked.
The girl considered my behaviour very rude because I just barged in without permission inside the Kings room. " You think you can just casually walk in here and say whatever you want in the King's presence?"
" Yeah pretty much" I said with an arrogant smile.
" You-" She was furious with my behaviour.
Asmal wanted to stop her but I signalled to him with my eyes that it was all under control.
She closed the distance between us in a flash and threw a punch. I couldve dodged it easily but I delayed the timing of my movements to make it a bit more interesting.
" Oi oi princess you're gonna attack the ones you've called in for help?" I asked with a smirk.
" We didnt call ok people like you who just ignore their responsibilities and show such arrogance towards the Royal family."
She threw another punch at me which I stopped with my palm and punched her in the stomach using my other hand. I didnt punch her that hard so she didnt fall bit she became more wary of me and stepped back.
" Who are you?" She asked in a pained voice.
" Me? Oh I'm no one worth your attention, princess"
" Oh and I'm going out of the castle for a bit so I came to request to you to give me some money."
I said that to Asmal on which he nodded and signalled to one of the guards who brought me a sack of coins. " Thanks." I said to Asmal and left the room.
