6 Chapter 6 : The road to death is a long one

Next, Hank inquired about the specific process of the robbery. After saving a copy of the surveillance video from Supermarket, he escorted the burly man Sean away from the scene.

Having successfully dealt with the serious trouble of the confidants who came to search for oil and water every three days, Auntie Wang was in a good mood.

"He turned out to be a piece of crap. It's a shame that I was so afraid of him before. He has robbed me so many times with a toy gun," Auntie Wang said, feeling down.

"That's because he only dares to bully immigrant women like you; he's a cowardly scoundrel," Goofy cursed. "But it's alright now; we send him to prison for a good transformation."

Aunt Wang nodded and then held Goofy's hand enthusiastically. "Goofy, I really want to thank you so much just now. If it weren't for you, I don't know how long I'd be bullied by that scum... But you don't know. He is using a toy gun; how dare he contradict him like that? Aren't you afraid that he will shoot you?"

"I've already seen that he's a coward. Those who bully women are cowards," Goofy lied to cover up. "He didn't have the guts to shoot me."

"Oh! Goofy, you are brave and knowledgeable!" Aunt Wang became more and more fond of Goofy but still reminded him kindly. "But you must be careful in the future; there are many shootings in Brooklyn. In case you run into a gangster who really dares to shoot?"

"Then I will thank his all eight generations," Goofy said in his heart, but he still promised, "Don't worry, Auntie, I will be careful."

Aunt Wang dragged Goofy along, growing more and more affectionate. She said with a smile, "You helped Auntie a lot today. Auntie will invite you to dinner tomorrow, okay?"

"Don't be so polite, Auntie," Goofy was a little embarrassed. "We are a disadvantaged group in Brooklyn; shouldn't we help each other? If you have anything in the future, feel free to come to me; I will definitely help if I can."

"No, you must come to my house for dinner tomorrow; otherwise, you are not giving me a face!" Aunt Wang said without giving an inch. She didn't just want to thank Goofy; this young man was talented, enthusiastic, and brave. The perfect choice for a son-in-law! Auntie Wang has been worrying about her daughter's personal problems for a long time. How could she miss this good guy who delivered himself to her door? This mother-in-law, Aunt Wang, is determined!

Seeing Aunt Wang's enthusiasm, Goofy couldn't help but shirk. "Okay, then I'll trouble Auntie tomorrow."

"No trouble, no trouble; this little thing is nothing. By the way, this aunt's house is in the old apartment building behind it. I will write you the address." Aunt Wang wrote while speaking and stuffed it into Goofy's shirt pocket after writing. "See you tomorrow; I will make crabs for you!"

Leaving Supermarket, Goofy wandered aimlessly through the alleys all the way from Brooklyn to Queens. However, he still didn't find any criminals. Homeless idlers could be seen everywhere, but after all, they did not engage in illegal or criminal activities, nor did they endanger the personal safety of others. Under such circumstances, Goofy naturally couldn't force himself to act bravely.

Strolling all the way to a mean alley behind a commercial street in Queens, Goofy finally smelled the breath of bravery. He saw a black minivan parked on the side of the road, and several men dressed in black jumped from it. It was evident that if their attire was not that of agents handling the case, then 80% of them were criminals.

Goofy followed them all the way, carefully keeping a safe distance from these people. After turning a few corners in the alley, he saw these men in black walking straight towards a homeless man squatting in the corner.

"What are you doing? Who are you?" the tramp asked nervously.

Without saying a word, the man in black rushed over and pinned the homeless man to the ground. Two of them quickly sealed the homeless man's mouth with tape and then tied his legs and arms.

"Help! Help..."

The homeless man shouted, and then he could no longer make any sound, but this scene was clearly seen by Goofy, who was hiding not far away. This is kidnapping! And it was the most vulnerable homeless man in the city who was kidnapped! Goofy was very excited; this was really a good opportunity to act bravely!

First of all, there were five people on the other side; such a huge disparity in the number of people meant that if Goofy rushed up, he would die! Secondly, there was no one around here, and no one would witness Goofy's behavior of saving people. Even if he failed to sacrifice successfully this time, Goofy would not be upgraded because of the admiration value of the onlookers.

So Goofy shouted, "Hey! Let go of that tramp!"

After shouting, he strode towards the group of men in black. When the five men in black heard Goofy's scolding, they were obviously stunned for a moment, and then they looked at each other as if they didn't know how to deal with it. Seeing that Goofy was about to rush in front of him, an unknown one of the five shouted "Run," so the five "ruthless" gangsters left the homeless and ran away, disappearing at the other end of the alley in the blink of an eye.

When Goofy came after them, the five people had already disappeared, and Goofy was stunned on the spot. What are you afraid of when the five of you hit me only one person? Are all criminals in New York so cowardly these days? Without waiting for Goofy to chase again, a prompt came from the background of the system.

[Admiration from Ole +3] [Admiration from Ole +3] [Admiration from Ole +3] …

Obviously, Ole is the name of the homeless man. So Goofy had to bend down and untie the tape on the homeless face and legs.

"Oh! Thank you, thank you, my friend; you are my savior!" Ole the homeless said excitedly, "I almost died. God knows where these people in black are going to get me; they may want to throw me directly into the Hudson River. I heard that New York City thinks us homeless people are affecting the city's appearance and plans to quietly throw us into the river to feed the fish; they must be people from the municipal department; they must be like this!"

Goofy didn't know whether to laugh or cry; this rumor had no credibility at all. These men in black are suspicious and sneaky. They are definitely not people from the official department. Eighty percent of them belong to a private company. As for the purpose of their kidnapping of homeless people, Goofy can almost guess.

There is no shortage of crazy genius scientists in New York, and every genius scientist likes to do one or two human experiments. To do experiments, there must be experimental samples, and beggars living on the streets are the best candidates for experimental samples. After all, there are so many homeless people in New York, and one or two missing every day will not arouse suspicion.

However, these people in black who hijacked homeless people were not professional criminals. They were more like laboratory researchers performing special tasks. Therefore, they were not aggressive and were often timid and cautious. Therefore, even if they are numerous and powerful, they will only flee when they see Goofy.

There is no future in following them, and there is no chance for him to die heroically. The plan failed again, and Goofy pinched his forehead dejectedly. "Take care, my friend; next time you may not be so lucky; after all, I can't stare at you 24 hours a day." Goofy patted the homeless man on the shoulder, turned, and left the alley. The road to death is a long one, and he has to discover more murderous criminals.
