1 chapter one

Calum's Point of View

"Hi mum, how are you feeling?" I asked as I tossed my backpack on the floor. She looked at me and gave me a small weak smile.

"I'm fine" She said followed by a nasty cough, making me think other wise "nevermind" she mumbled. I felt so bad that I can't do anything to help her.

"Has dad given you your medicine yet?" I asked she shook her head "why not?" I asked panicking because she needs her medicine. "We ran out" she said so calmly as if it wasn't something she needed.

"I'll be back, as fast as I can, I promise." "There should be enough money in the -" "no I don't need it I have enough." "A-are you sure?" "It's fine, don't worry I'll be back with another bottle I promise." I said leaving but giving my mom a kiss on her forehead as she smiled.

I grabbed the money from my backpack and my skateboard, and the door I went to get mum's medicine.

On my way to the pharmacy I saw a groups of reporters and photographers crowding the pharmacy. I didn't care so much for until I had to go through them to get to the door.

Finally getting inside I head to the back where I knew the very nice pharmacist Olivia was. Recognizing me immediately "do you need another bottle" she asked kindly

"Yes please" I said nodding as some else walked in

"Oh"

I felt someone bump into my skateboard making me turn around. "I'm sorry. Did I dirty clothes" I asked as the woman dusted her white skinny jeans.

"No it's alright, it's my fault anyways for bumping into you. I'm sorry" she said in her American accent

"Excuse me but could you lock up the door. I really don't want all those people following me." She said to Olivia "of course, give me a second, Calum" Olivia said as she put my mum's medicine in the counter. This made the woman sigh in relief and hiding behind some rows of chips.

"Here you go" Olivia handed me the medicine and I pulled the money out of my backpack. She counted the money and I put the medicine in my backpack about to leave.

"Oh, it seems you're about fifteen dollars short, honey." She said and I panicked "what? But I swear I had enough for my mum's medicine."

"How much?" The lady from before asked and took back the money from Olivia and handing it back to me "Eighty dollars" said Olivia

She handed her the money and turned to me. "Y-you didn't have to do that." I said to her "I don't even get a thank you?" She said with a chuckle.

I gave her a hug and I don't even know who she is. "You're an angel miss." I said and she rubbed my back "thank you so much" I said finally pulling away. "You're welcome and I hope you mom gets better" she said kindly, I turned to leave but said it again "thank you so much" and I left

"Here you go mum just like I promised" I said as I put a place of food and her meds on her nightstand . I helped her sit up and gave her the plate of food "thank you Calum" she said and gave me a kiss on the cheek "you're the best son ever" "you're welcome mum, anything for you." I said and passed her the remote and left the her room to go my own.

My room wasn't much. It was small but I made the most of it. A small bed in the corner, a dresser against the wall and a couple posters hung up. It was pretty embarrassing compared to my friends rooms.

I changed out of my clothes. I put on an old pair of sweatpants and a loose shirt. I checked my phone and then decided to call my best friend Luke.

It rang a few times before he picked up the phone. "Hey Cal, what's up?" He asked and I ran my hand through my hair "nothing much, just waiting to give my mom her meds." I said and he wished the best for my mom and told me to tell her that he hopes she gets well soon."I will Luke, thanks."

"I got invited to a party, want to come" Luke said excited and I sighed "Come in please, it'll be fun" I said again " come one you need this. After all the stress from school, your mum's illness and your job you need this party as a break." He said attempting to convince me.

"When is it?" I asked bitting down on my bottom lip

"Because you know the only day I'm off is Sat-" "yea is next Saturday night"

"Come on, I'll even let you borrow some clothes of thats what you need." Luke said

It embarrassed me that I had to borrow friends clothes because we couldn't always a ford going to the laundry. "N-no it's okay" I said "please, you know Micheal will ditch me after he finds an attractive person." Luke begged I sighed

"Okay, fine I'll think about it" I said as I heard Luke squeal "Guess what happen to me at the pharmacy"

"You saw a dog?"

"No"

"Hot girl"

"Kinda" I said and he laughed " tell me what happened" he said dying to know "I was at the pharmacy buying my mum's meds and the woman comes in because she was being followed my people and stuff. She had an American accent and looked like those millionaires in tv."

"Bro, you should have totally gotten her number." Luke said "like I said she's a woman, she's much older than me." I said and smiled

"She was really sweet and kind. I didn't have enough money to pay for my mum's meds so she payed for me and told Olivia to keep the change." I said in awe

"Damn, goals" he said and I chuckled, agreeing with him "So.. what did she look like?" Luke asked

"She had brown hair and her skin tone was a little darker than mine, and she was wearing white skinny jeans and a blue top." I said remembering all the little details about her

"She sounds pretty hot." Was all Luke said I chuckled "I saw someone that sounds like her in tv. It said she was buying a company near by, it's a pretty big deal." He and I nearly chocked on nothing

"I wish I could do that, but instead I'm stuck cleaning tables at a shitty dinner" I sighed "Well everyone starts somewhere" Luke said

After a bit more of us talking we finally said out goodbye I took a small nap before had to go off and go to work at the dinner. I drifted off to sleep thinking of the multi millionaire who helped me pay for my moms meds and is also buying a company. She's so beautiful and elegant and sweet... I continued to think of her until I finally fell asleep.
