21 21. Taking the Chance

I was admiring his sexy backside, while he was making us breakfast.

"Sis, if you keep on looking at him like that, I might retrieve back to my room and give you guys some privacy here." Kami was drinking her coffee with us while discussing her lunch meeting from yesterday afternoon.

"Kami baby, I'm so sorry." I blushed looking at her, while Alex started platting our breakfast.

"And Alex, please put your shirt on. I need my mind to work if you're taking me back to your place. I need to discuss work stuff with Kami." He chuckled and went back to my room and put on his shirt, then sit back with us for breakfast.

We talked some more, while I gave Kami some pointers on several of our regulars.

"So Gary will be arranging all of your schedules and cc'd everything to my email. And you need to start handling things with Francois, some of our regulars had a special and different taste on their babies. You will convey their wishes to Francois, you can check with Gary when he will be back from his leave." I could see Alex was clenching his jaw when I mentioned Francois. I put my hand on his knee, as I calmed him down.

"Right, I think I'm good Adriana. Just relax sis, I got Gary and the rest of the team. You need to relax and enjoy your man. Now, I'm going to go. Alex, please make her relax okay, she really needs to be spoiled. I love you both okay." She hugged me and Alex, then went out of the door.

I sighed and looked at him. "So, how are you this morning?" He was wrapping his arms around my waist, I had just finished doing the dishes.

"I'm good, better. The paparazzi was crazy, it was too much for me. I don't think I will be comfortable going out by myself, for the time being, the feeling was still too overwhelming for me. Maybe in a couple more days, I'm taking absence from work." I turned to him, and rest my cheek on his chest while I circled my arms to his back.

"This feels good Alex. When is your meeting? Maybe I should wait for you here instead. Your place is too big for me to stay alone there while you're gone." I pushed my body closer to his, making him sigh in content.

"It'll be in an hour. Okay, I'll pick you up later. Just relax for a couple of hours okay? And I'm calling my usual driver here, I'll get a new guy from the security agency for myself. He will be waiting for you downstairs just in case you need to go out. I'll text you his number later."

"Now, How about that sexy morning shower, before sending me off to my meeting." He was holding my neck possessively, just the way I liked it. I was felling his hardness, as he took my hand between his legs.

"Yes baby, we should definitely have one. Before I'm left alone without you to play with." I winked at him playfully, while strutting my way to the bathroom.

I was watching my favorite TV shows when I got the call.

"Adriana, where are you? I need to pick you up." Drew's voice was urgent, I was instantly alert.

"My apartment, why? Drew?" But he didn't answer, he just hung up on me.

Then I quickly got changed, deep down I knew something bad had happened to Alex. I didn't want to believe it, but I changed my clothes anyway.

My hands were shaking, I got my cigarette out and light it trying to keep my nerves down. I didn't feel the calming effect as usual and hated the smoke. So I put it out and brew a cup of coffee instead. I was just finishing my coffee when drew arrived at my door.

He didn't say anything, he just hugged me. "Come, let's go. I'll explain on the way to the hospital." My hand clasps my mouth, my tears fell immediately.

I couldn't say anything, I just followed him. Alex's driver greeted Drew.

"Chris, you're here?"

"Yes sir, Mr. Davis told me to wait on Ms. Morgan. Why don't I take both of you to the hospital? I've heard about it already. I'll cover her from the paparazzi." He talked to us professionally, with a hint of urgency in his voice.

Drew gladly took his offer, and we got into Alex's car. Everything was happening so quickly but so slow at the same time, I was like in a trance. I couldn't even voice my words to Drew, I was too afraid to ask. And Drew was busy talking on his phone, regarding Alex's conditions to the other line.

We arrived at the hospital as his driver pulled up at the lobby, there were paparazzi everywhere. Then one of them saw me, that was when Drew and Chris shielded me as we started walking to the lobby. There was flash of lights and loud questions, calling out my name and Drew's asking about Alex.

"How's Alex Ms. Morgan?" 

"Adriana, look to the camera please" 

"Ms. Morgan, have you heard anything from his fiance?"

"Adriana, is it true that you're the other woman?"

"Hey Drew, will Alex be able to walk again and continue the next series?"

That last question, almost made me tripped. Chris caught me and helped me walk. "I got you, Ms. Morgan, come we better hurry." He quickly rushed me inside the lobby. I couldn't see clearly with all the tears in my eyes. I still had no clue what the fuck was going on.

I was still too fucking afraid to ask.

"Adriana, sorry I haven't told you anything about what had happened. I didn't want you to have your episode. So, this morning when he was having brunch with a couple of executive producers, Liza his ex was there. She was livid and stabbed him with a steak knife. She got him on his shoulder, I haven't got more details. I want you to be brave okay baby? I'm here. He loves you... you know that right? He needs your support."

I paled right away, Chris was still supporting my weight. I decided to sit down for a moment. "Right, damn it Drew. Why do these things keep on happening to me? I just wanted to be happy." I finally breakdown and cried on his shoulder.
