“Need a hand?”

“Lee. Hi. Sure. The best thing about cleaning up the refreshment table is disposing of the leftovers.” Stone downed his third oatmeal raisin bar. “Help yourself.”

“Maybe one or two,” Lee said. “You know who can eat anything he wants and still look like he does? Ed. I’ve seen the man polish off an entire medium pepperoni and sausage pizza and then scarf down half a package of Oreos.”

“Come on, no way.”

Lee held up three fingers. “Scouts’ honor.”

“You were a scout, back before they wouldn’t let us in for a while?”

“Something like that.”

“Did he take Addison home?” Stone asked.

“She’s spending the long weekend with Isabelle Stowers.”

“Ah.” Edison’s whereabouts remained a mystery.

“Ed’s outside.”

Then they didn’t.

“We have enough help, if you two want to go,” Stone told Lee.

“I don’t mind hanging,” he said back. “It’ll give us a chance to talk.”
