A moment of awkward silence descended upon the entire meeting room as Alanis stared at Arjuna completely stunned.
Arjuna slowed the seed of darkness and as he felt it going down to his stomach a notification went up in front of him.

Arjuna raised his eyebrows at the notifications, honestly, they were nice, but he expected something more since it was coming from a famed Nightfall Archer.
Speaking of which, Tohim or Sninkkaakac watched Arjuna take and swallow the seed of darkness in complete silence.
But seeing Arjuna look around in confusion made him start to chuckle to himself. The chuckle grew into a loud laugh and soon the echoes of his laughter sounded throughout the entire guild.
He looked at Arjuna again
"I didn't think you would do that so easily, you know what it means accepting that right?"
Arjuna answered
"it's kinda a taboo in some nations because they think it's demonic or something I'm guessing"
The nightfall Archer nodded
"yes, never show any darkness skills that you will learn to anyone else except for the ones that you trust with your life, understood?"
Arjuna nodded and added
"Yeah, I won't I don't even think I'll be using any darkness related skills anytime soon anyways"
A grin passed over the Nightfall Archer's face.
"oh you will be"
And saying that he let go of the bow and quiver in his left hand, which floated back to the cupboard which shut closed. The dark cloak and amour underneath dissolved into dark mist and wafted away.
Sninkkaakac looked at both of them in his regular guild outfit. He crossed his arms as a grumpy but satisfied expression covered his face.
"you're going on an adventure," he said roughly
Arjuna looked back at Alanis who was looking at Sninkkaakac with a confused face.
"adventure?"
The gnome master nodded.
"it is one of the best ways to grow, and the seed grows with you"

Seeing that both of them didn't have anything else to say the gnome master pulled out a large map out of a cabinet.
He rolled open the map for both of them to see. Arjuna looked over to see a detailed map of the Nightshade empire.
"see this?" Sninkkaakac said as he pointed to the very west side of the Nightshade empire closer to the middle of the continent. He pointed to a yellow dot only a few inches away from the large mountains that separated the continent in half. "this is where we are, the city of dawn, and thatttt" He continued as he drew his finger down to the southern side of the empire. His fingers landed on a green dot that was surrounded by forests. "is where you guys are going to journey to the city of twilight,"
Sninkkaakac handed Arjuna the map as explained the adventure.

"I have an associate there who will help you in your journey she will know who you are, simply show her your seeds of darkness, besides she will recognize my mana trace on you two, once you get there she will guide you on the elements of wind and nature while helping you to understand the true nature of darkness"
Sninkkaakac tossed both of them bags full of provisions and supplies.

"by the way, on your journey, gather comrades you can trust, find treasures and other things which can sell for money. Make friends and be sure to help those in need, priorities elves though,"
Sninkkaakac looked at Arjuna
"and your Arjuna, I know you can become something more than a Nightfall Archer, you have the talent and motivation to do it, I don't know how or when, but I think you might just be destined for something great."
Arjuna gave a nod of respect to the gnome in front of him, he had learned a lot from him. And actually felt some attachment to him. But the gnome had one last thing to give him. With a grunt, he tossed another sack to Arjuna. But this one was much lighter.
"in that bag," Sninkkaakac "are basic archer skills, make sure you review over the foundations, or else everything else you do as an archer will be affected"

Arjuna's face lit up in Joy as he gained the bag. Truly a gift from the heavens. Arjuna was about to express his thanks but Sninkkaakac waved him off. "Go" he said, "you have people to say goodbye to"
Arjuna nodded with a smile and ran out in the direction of the Dawn Alchemist guild.
Alanis and Sninkkaakac were left in the meeting room. Alanis was extremely tense, and she was about to leave and follow Arjuna but Sninkkaakac stopped her.
"Are you sure" he asked "that you want to journey with a human? the Nightfall Archer succession is a difficult trial, it will take months, years to complete, are you sure that he is the one you want to spend the next few months with?"
Alanis turned back to Sninkkaakac, she was blushing and her voice was quivering, not out of fear this time.
"When I first met him, I just thought that he was a handsome boy, but there is so much more, the way he looks at life makes me just wish a had a tenth of what he has, his dreams make mine look tiny and small, the way he talks about his family makes me jealous but also happy for him. The way he moves around the place, jumping for anything that catches his interest, He is the definition of free."
"so yes" Alanis continued sweeping her golden hair back, smiling as he looked at Sninkkaakac, her cheeks bright red, her green eyes sparkling. Her entire face as radiant as the sun.
"I have chosen him, as my rival and partner"
Sninkkaakac looked at Alanis for a few seconds, smiling to himself. The little girl that he had saved in that village had grown so much.
"so be it," He said as he raised his hand to offer her the last seed of darkness.
Alanis reached out with her hand and took the seed of darkness. She admired it holding it out in the sunlight. A perfect ball of condensed darkness, so condensed it became solid.
It reminded her of a certain somebody's hair. She could almost imagine him running off chasing after some random thing. With her chasing after him.
With a smile on her face, she swallowed the seed of darkness.

Alanis closed her eyes as she felt the dark energy slowly dissolve in her stomach traveling down into her mana core to form a small dot on it. A seed.
She opened her eyes, with a new light in them. She opened and closed her fists testing the power of the darkness.
Sninkkaakac let out a laugh,
"it's useless, the seed will only grow with your own strength, it might seem useless in the beginning but in the end," Sninkkaakac said while gazing back at the cupboard which held his weapons.
"it will grow into something that will become as essential as your right arm"
Alanis stood up, regaining her confidence for once. She walked in front of Sninkkaakac the gnome master, the Nightfall Archer who had saved her life when she was young.
She lowered her head, bowing to him.
"thank you for saving me back then! I am eternally grateful" she said almost in a yell
Sninkkaakac sighed to himself and lifted Alanis up.
"don't be," he said "just thank me once and get on with your life"
Alanis looked at the gnome smiling. The gnome huffed to himself
"I'm proud of you," he said gruffly "I never expected the little elf girl I saved from an almost wiped out village, grow into such a strong person"
Alanis wiped a tear from her eye and whispered
"not strong yet, I still have a long ways to go"
"you do" Sninkkaakac agreed "but you have a partner to go with you now"
Alanis smiled even harder and she hugged the gnome in front of her. It was a tearful goodbye to the person that she had been chasing after her entire life.
As she walked out the door, she looked back to see the gnome with his back turned looking out of the window. She smiled and closed the door behind her.
