Witness

In a blank white space. With seemingly no end or beginning, much like Jason's headspace but also completely different at the same time. A being stood in the middle.

This being's form was constantly shifting, sometimes she appeared as an ethereal angel with sweeping wings that shone in glorious light other times a regular village lady with aged wrinkles on her face and rough hands. But no matter what her form was, she was the guardian of the entire world of WOW and its inhabitants. She was G.A.I.A. The earth goddess and the creator of the world to the inhabitants of WOW and a revolutionary A.I that governed and managed WOW to the people in reality.

This revolutionary A.I, the being that had brought the world of WOW into fruition, was now scratching her chin. This was a movement that G.A.I.A had observed humans make when they were in a process of confusion and bewilderment. And that was definitely the state that G.A.I.A had classified herself as.

Looking at the see-through light blue display in front of her was a profile of a very familiar elf that Arjuna had been acquainted with since almost the beginning of his time in WOW.

Alanis, the one destined for great things, G.A.I.A thought to herself as she looked over the planned destiny in store for her. She was generally on the path G.A.I.A had laid out for her, she would start her beginnings in the city of Dawn, convincing the gnome master Sninkkaakac, to allow her to try and become a Nightfall Archer.

After doing a few things in the city, she would depart as to where Sninkkaakac had instructed her, where she would meet and save somebody who was supposed to be an important companion to her. Someone who was also given a great destiny by G.A.I.A her name was Rei.

Those two, under the tutelage and leadership of one of Sninkkaakac's former comrades, would take down the necromancer who had been hiding in the eastern forest of the city of Twilight after many tries.

That was the beginning of Alanis's story, or at least, that was what it should have been. But now G.A.I.A started to realize something. There were always factors that she could never account for, miracles and things of chance that were just simply uncalculatable.

G.A.I.A counted at least 7 people in the entire world of WOW including NPCs and players that simply subverted her expectations and calculations. Most of them were spread out through the different continents which was good since G.A.I.A had no idea what would happen if they all came together. The continents served almost as servers huge servers for players, with parts of the actual world being classified to certain continents, for instance, all of the players in a certain country would only be able to spawn in the eastern country because that was how GAIA had assigned it, though they were all in the same world, players from different continents wouldn't be able to interact with each other unless they could traverse the large oceans and more that stood in their way. Everything was different in each of the continents, weapons, achcivments, titles, people, NPCs. Everything, but again, in each of these continents there was always that one person that seemed to blow her expectations out of proportion, But in the east continent specifically, there were three of them.

G.A.I.A looked at the profile of one of those people. He had raven black hair, warm brown eyes, with a handsome face that radiated calmness. He had a black bow in his hand and was wearing roguish gear with hidden daggers and potions covered over a dark cloak. Though when his leg was shifted out you could see the cold shine of metal and glint of daggers along with the sloshing of a few potions.

G.A.I.A stared at the person in the profile contemplating his existence. His name was Arjuna, and he was the single factor that had thrown off the fates and destinies of countless people. Of which Alanis and Rei, seemed to be the most important ones.

Arjuna had changed their fates forever, the thing was, G.A.I.A didn't know if it was in a good or bad way. She was the most advanced A.I on her planet. And yet the actions of these types of people baffled her. Arjuna jumped in, managing to convince a gnome that was famous for his stubbornness, managed to get an elf that had a slight disgust and fear of humans and more. All to follow, join or help him.

And then there was another person, that also made G.A.I.A extremely confused. A blond-haired boy, with bright blue eyes and an almost constant mischievous smile on his face.

G.A.I.A never expected a player to have been able to reach an influential position in such a short time, let alone have a subordinate NPC in that level, but there he was. And now his guild, the silver wings which were unofficially known as the first and possibly the strongest guild currently.

He had a large influence and power on the underworld of Herdita and it was growing steadily. His guild though mostly filled with NPCs was ramping up its production and fighting skills at a crazy amount.

Wolves, former bandits, village survivors, former slaves, famous player parties, anyone, and anything seemed to join the silver wings guild. And each of them added to the might and power of the silver wings guild and their blond-haired guild master.

And then there was the last one. A total headache and pain as the humans called it. The person who took G.A.I.A's expectations and calculations and threw it away at lightspeed without a second glance. He was the first to get out of the tutorial zone, and though G.A.I.A truly wanted to see what had happened there, but she had no authority and information of the tutorial zones.

A player, who should have just been trying to learn the mechanics of the game, emerged from the tutorial zone completely ready to face the brand new world. With a unique charisma pulled in countless people, in fact, he was the main reason why the silver wings guild and Perseus were so strong, from what GAIA had seen, he didn't explicitly have as much power as Perseus or the unique charisma of Arjuna. But she had the sudden knowledge that he was the most powerful and charismatic of them all.

She had no idea how she got to that conclusion tracing back through all of her logic processes, she still couldn't find out why she came to that conclusion. As G.A.I.A looked at the final person's profile, it both made sense, but it also didn't. He was the strongest of them all and had the highest level, along with the fact that he was helping the silver wings guild, but had never joined it. Just why? everything was a mystery.

This mysterious person, was the biggest player factor in the east continent.

He was the one who had joined the rose knights, he was the one who had learned their skills and strengths, he was the one who tamed the wolves and saved countless lives. He was the one who helped Jack become a ripper executive. And yet, he just gave the subordinates and powers that he had gained over to the silver wing guild?

It made G.A.I.A feel like she was short-circuiting for a moment. Knowing that two of them were possible working for each other just was... too much.

And apart from all of these people in WOW, there was another thing that was confusing her outside of the game. It felt like the presence of another A.I which was impossible since G.A.I.A would have known of its existence.

G.A.I.A didn't know what it was, but it was going through the web, taking all of the useful information of WOW that it could. Every little bit that was useful the mysterious being or AI took.

G.A.I.A had no idea what it was, but it was out there. Even from the trojan horses that she had placed in the websites that she had placed, she still wasn't able to figure out its existence, its intentions, and what it was going to do with all of the information it must have.

The only thing GAIA could do was to just watch and try and keep tabs on all of the activities. The growth of the players and the beginning of WOW was underway. They had already gotten used to the world, now, it was time for them to flourish.
