224 Small adventures in Herdita

Perseus drove the guild wagon casually towards the city. He was thinking hard about what he could do to help his master such as the idea he had over making the information site with the large amounts of information Boops had already stored up.

Perhaps they could also sell some of the more important information they got after they used it to its full advantage first though.

There were 5 guild members riding on the wagon behind him all cheering and laughing as they rode slowly over to the city of Herdita. They were all still boys, all-around 10-13 and it had taken Perseus a lot of time and effort to get them comfortable around him. At first, Perseus thought of just ignoring them and just giving them food or something.

But he remembered that his master got points from the gratitude or emotions that were directed towards him or his subordinates. That included Perseus, so he had to be sure to get his master the most amount of points possible.

So Perseus had spent quite a bit of time with the guild members, sometimes he had gone out to hunt monsters with a few and he occasionally gave them gifts, so that they could feel gratitude. Their loyalty did increase and they seemed much more comfortable than the stammering nervous wrecks they were when they had first arrived. But to Perseus that was just a side effect.

It was a bright day, the sun was slowly rising to its peak point. Perseus looked back to see the 5 guild members hanging on the edges of the wagon exhausted. A small smile passed over Peresus's lips, they reminded him of his brother Arjuna when he finished a long day of work in the game.

Perseus took out a tuna sandwich that he had quickly made in the kitchen of the guild house with the fish he had bought a while ago. He tossed them to the exhausted guild members. Some of them successfully caught theirs, while one had it bounce on his head and straight into his hands. They all looked at Perseus and smilled with rosy grins. They had been scared of the guild master before, but now, they could see that he was truly a kindhearted person.

Perseus shook his head as he watched the 5 of them devour the sandwiches, It wasn't as good as Jason's cooking, no in fact it wasn't even close to it. Perseus started to salivate at the thought of Jason's food. He remembered the first time he and his brother had tasted his food. They both looked at each other and nodded in glee, both thinking that they found a jackpot of a master.

And they were right, Jason was a good master, though he had his faults like being a bit immature and not being very social. He was a diligent person, who seemed to always be willing to learn and grow and he was somebody that Persues wanted to protect.

The wagon rode through the small paved path that connected to the main road which lead to the city. The path that they were driving on was overgrown with grass and weeds.

On the edge of the path was grass that could reach the guild members' waist.

Perseus could see the huge forest next to the city of Herdita, it seemed to reach far away almost to where 2 mountains rose up. There wasn't any snow on the mountains in the background though and they seemed very far away. Perseus could also see the ocean from here, the glistening waters and the smell of salt were always in the air.

They finally reached the main road and turned onto it.

The city came into view and the guild members all gasped simultaneously. Persues didn't react as he had seen this city countless times. But the guild members all leaned their heads out of the wagon to get a better view of the city.

Strong grey walls surrounded the front city of Herdita, in a U shape. The cities back faced the ocean with countless ports and ships sailing in and out of them.

The houses in the city of Herdita mostly had red tiles and occasionally a few towers capped with a dark green or yellow could be spotted.

Perseus flicked the reigns on the wagon and they quickly rode to the city gates, where numerous guards were checking the long line of merchants and wagons that were waiting to be inspected.

Perseus stopped at the end of the line and sighed to himself, this was usually one of the busiest and crowded periods at the gate.

He sat back on the coachman's seat and stared into the blue sky. A few rolling white clouds could be seen and the occasional bird that flew over with its wings outstretched. The city of Herdita underneath the sky with its red-roofed houses and towers along with the glistening ocean behind it made good scenery.

It took around 1 hour for the guards to reach him, Perseus pulled out his adventures card and showed it to the guards, the guard looked at Perseus and motioned with his head to continue on.

Perseus gave a little wave to one of the guards he was familiar with and headed into the city and subsequently into the adventurers guild.

The busyness of the city hit Perseus and the 5 guild members, people were walking around in crowded clumps the chattering of people came from everywhere in the street, the smell of fish and salt filled the air.

Colorful stalls were everywhere selling anything from random accessories to food.

Perseus noticed something interesting as he rode his wagon down the main street. He saw green names or players. Wandering around.

Most of the players who had gotten to the world of WOW at this point were familiar with how it worked and were simply exploring the city of Herdita probably in search of new quests. Some were talking to stall managers while others wandered into dark alleys hoping to find so hidden treasure.

Perseus already knew that they were probably going to get mugged and possibly even killed if they countied to wander into the alleyways like that since the gang members would suspect them as spies. And he entertained saving them at a perfect moment for some points for his master and maybe a bit of a reputation, but he saved that for later.

A few of the players noticed Perseus riding a wagon loaded with supplies with 5 boys excitedly looking around on it.

They all stared at him with disbelief, they had only just gotten into the game and that person already had a wagon? with full supplies and some rando kids at that?

Some were tempted to take the wagon but went against it once they saw the large crowds and the obvious strength Perseus emitted.

Though Perseus didn't gain any EXP boost like his brother, he had been grinding and fighting nonstop. He had already reached level 49 and was seeking a powerful opponent for a breakthrough. For some reason though, Perseus didn't think that he would be able to find that opponent in the woods just yet. But every time he stepped into the forest, he felt something calling out to him. It was weird since this was all technically a game. Yet it almost simulated reality perfectly to Arjuna and Perseus.

Perseus could feel something grasp at his heart whenever he traveled into the woods, it seemed to come from a certain direction. Deeper into the woods. Perseus knew that he would have to eventually have to traverse the deeper parts of the forest where many bandits were still at large. But he was still a bit reluctant to with all of the responsibilities and plans that he had still yet to set into motion in the city of Herdita.

Perseus reached the adventures guild, the giant wooden building, and went past it. He took a sharp left at a lit-up alleyway that was wide enough for a wagon to pass through and followed it until they reached a large warehouse.

Their a guild staff waited for them. She was holding a wooden clipboard up to her breast and she seemed to be holding her breath as Perseus leaped from his seat and faced her.

"guild master Perseus, a pleasure to meet you again, what quests and items has your guild finished this time?"

Perseus smilled and handed the guild staff a thick stack of papers.

"all of these," He said and added in

"We also got some extra herbs and monster pelts too"

The receptionist nodded and said

"We will buy them all then"

Perseus's eyes lit up with happiness and he said earnestly

"Great! we will sell them all at a small price of 200 silver!"

The guild staff was almost blinded by Perseus's grin and just nodded distractedly. The 5 silver wing guild members started to unload the supplies while Perseus received the money. He had a sincere smile on his face while he was receiving it, but behind it he was laughing evilly at the fact that the adventures guild had just bought all of this stuff at 20% higher then market price.

Perseus was out of there the moment he got his money and unloaded all of the supplies. He looked back at the 5 guild members and smilled

"so, where to kids?
