103 Monster discussion

Jason looked at the books even more closely. All of them had something to do with golems whether it be mana engineering or just how to make golem cores. It was a great find that was for sure but now Jason had a few questions about golems.

One was that he hadn't seen golems in the world yet. It may have just been because he was in the rose knight training center the entire time, but still, he felt that I was weird that he never saw a single golem at all. The twins didn't see anything like a golem either. Another was that Golem cores were expensive and the ingredients to make the cores were not specified. It showed how to engrave commands and things onto the core. But the actual material itself wasn't there. To say the least that pissed Jason and Boops off and Boops was still in the corner reading through books to figure out what the core was made out of. So far they only understood that cores were made by monsters and were a drop item. How man-made ones were made Jason had no idea.

So yeah Jason and Boops's plan to mass-produce golems were thrown out the window. The entire pile of books had almost everything he needed to know. How to craft the body of the golem the mana paths that should be made. What commands are the most optimal to use or how you can get the most efficient commands into the golem core. But no FRICKING recipe to make the core itself.

On the plus side, Jason had time to look at the system and learn some new things about it. Boops helped Jason learn. Boops kept on saying how the subordination part of the system hadn't been used as thoroughly as it should be and Jason had only just tapped into what it was really worth.

From what Jason had gathered when he got a subordinate that certain subordinate would be able to level up and gain skills if they couldn't. The also gained a small inventory. And could access their own status. Jason could also view their loyalty and by buying certain items from the system could raise it. Jason decided to look through the system shop for the loyalty subsystems items.

[charisma drink: raise your charisma by 20% for 3 hours]

[cost:3000 points]

[wand of loyalty: if you hit a person with this wand their will be a higher chance to make them your subordinate]

[cost:4000 points]

[map upgrade: you are now able to see your subordinates on your map]

[cost: 10000 points]

[voice channel upgrade: you will no longer need to have your system soul be your middle guy and all of your subordinates can talk to you via this channel]

[cost: 20000 points]

[upgrade inventory: your subordinates inventory's can be connected to your inventory]

[cost: 1000000 points]

After that the store had some yellow and block tape covering the rest of the items, a red warning text said to Jason

[you do not have access to this part of the loyalty subsystem shop. Please complete at least one world or until you are deemed worthy enough to access this part of the shop]

Jason looked around to make sure that there was no secret item or anything. Yeah, nothing was there. No matter how hard he tried to bypass the barrier in the shop he wasn't able to. Boops just shrugged and told Jason

'Look, dude, I'm not the one deciding everything here, the system itself will judge whether or not you are worthy. I just happen to have some influence on the system but not as much as you think'

This made Jason start to think about the system and Boops itself. Before he had just thought that Boops was the system but it looks like things were much more complicated. Boops detected Jason's confusion and laughed a bit before trying to explain to him.

'So basically think of the system as a giant computer, one that's hecka powerful and can do almost everything. I'm the admin of that giant computer, and I can do stuff to it, I can control it and stuff, well mostly. There is just too much for one person like me to actually control though. So the computer itself handles most of the work. From calculations to map-making and even implementing skills it does allot.'

'sometimes that admin does some of the work but the system does most of it. You're on the receiving end, you're the person sitting somewhere halfway across the world, reading whatever we come up with and help you with. You are getting all of the benefits and we are just making sure that you don't die and stuff. On the other hand, you give us upgrades like the subsystems which make both me the sorta admin get smarter and the computer/ system to work faster and get new functions.'

Jason tried his best to follow Boops's explanation

"Sooooo what are you trying to say through all of this?"

Boops sighed and answered

'alright basically, the system is a nonhuman mechanical interdimensional computer. It's very powerful and intelligent. Intelligent enough to make its own decisions. But the system doesn't have emotions. It chooses and does everything via logic and reasoning with evidence.'

Jason again didn't understand and asked Boops again

"man speak please"

'haaaa why do I even try, system computer, no emotion, only sees result'

"Ahhh i get it now"

Boops in his floating ball form rammed himself into a wall muttering to himself

' why do I even try'

Jason finished talking to Boops and Boops went back to studying the golem books and seeking the answer to why the recipe for the golem core wasn't recorded or disappeared.

Jason has plenty of more subsystem items in the shops for Jason to explore he had the subsystem used to scan the books and one other. In fact, the subordination system itself had its own unique items and Jason couldn't wait to check them out.

Jason started to sort the system via that but then he saw the number of available items on the top right hand corner when he searched it up.

[available items for subordination unique items: 2000]

Yeah, Jason would check that out sometime later. Definitely not now, Jason had a feeling that if he looked through everything, he would get bored easily and wouldn't want to do it anymore.

Jason looked around the white room that had a faint green glow. Man, he was feeling a bit cramped in this place. He definitely preferred going outside and breathing int he fresh breeze like when he was with the wolves. In fact, being out in the wild with them was pretty fun in his opinion. Even if it was just a game and simulation in virtual reality, he still enjoyed it and if he briefly pretended it was reality it would be even better after all he felt the exact something he felt in reality. The wind rushing against your face when you run down a hill. The sun beaming down on you when you stop at a sunny location or the wet rushing current when he sat down on the grass. In fact, Jason was pretty sure he got a tan from how much he was outdoors recently.

Jason tried to hold in his frustration, today he had gained a load of new information and it was making his head feel like it was getting packed to the brim with information and it couldn't handle it. Man the information dump he just got today sucked but unfortunately he knew that it was essential for him to survive in this world. If he didn't get any of the information he was afraid he would be running into this unknown world blind and with no target and no grasp on how things worked.

But still, it really did suck to stay cooped inside a white room reading books nonstop and having those "intellectual" conversations with Boops when he could be outside running with the wolves and getting loot.

Wait actually, would the wolves be able to pick up the loot the goblins dropped? No, they had an inventory since they became his direct subordinates. Would that mean the entire wolf pack got an inventory and could access a status page?

That would be great but Jason was currently more concerned about the loot and gold that would be missed if they didn't grab the loot. Maybe he could ask them to pick it up but he wasn't sure if they even had inventories yet. Sure they could level up and gain new skills but dang that loot was needed to fund his future plan of having a giant monster brawl in the forest with the baits.

OH Frick the monster baits, Jason slapped himself in the face after remembering the most important piece that he had just forgotten like an idiot. Now he had to figure out a way to get the baits. Hopefully, the wolves had inventories and could dig it up. If not he might actually have to rely on the green barrack members.
