Hunts

Jason woke up and got into the capsule, today he was planning to get more baits. He could have already reached the barracks if he had continued on during the night, but Boops advised him to rest to keep his body healthy since he was going to take a large detour. He might have been able to stay up thanks to his superhuman status but really he didn't want to try.

[entering WOW]

[welcome Arch]

Jason opened his eyes to see one of the wolfs sniffing his face. He moved his body a bit and got up after the wolf retreated. He could feel his body's soreness, it was probably the effect of sleeping in a sitting position and the activities from the day before.

Jason looked around, all of the wolves were awake and were moving around. The majority of them were on the left of Jason surrounding the alpha wolf. The alpha wolf was barking repeatedly like he was giving off orders. The rest of the wolfs stood at attention in front of the alpha wolf while he barked.

Jason decided that he should sneak out of the camp at this time, even though he had a bit of attachment to the wolves he needed to start hunting, or he probably would be held captive for a while longer. So he got up quietly and walked away to the opposite direction of where most of the wolves were gathered at.

He dodged through the trees and crawled through bushes to get far away enough from the wolves. He got up from the ground and dusted himself off. He turned around to make sure that he wasn't being followed.

"grrrr?"

"aw frick"

Jason turned around to face a wolf who was tilting its head in confusion on why the human who gave them snackoes was out in the forest. "Whatever," the wolf thought "imma bring this hooman back to the group"

Jason was again herded by the wolves back to the camp. And really Jason didn't want to resist for many reasons one of them was that he probably wasn't going to be able to fight the wolf one on one. [grey wolf (friendly) level 40] and holy heck he was not letting the friendly status disappear for any reason.

The wolf scout brought Jason back to the camp where the rest of the wolves were raising a ruckus over their missing hooman.

Jason emerged into the camp and the alpha wolf ran up to him and barked angrily at Jason. Jason couldn't speak wolf but he could tell that he was being scolded at.

Jason waited for the alpha wolf to finish, he was then guided to where the rest of the pack was waiting.

After the alpha wolf's bark of command, the rest of the pack started running into the forest in a single unified unit. Jason was in the middle of the pack and he needed to keep up with them unless he wanted to be run over by the wolves behind him. Thankfully with his high agility stat, he could keep up.

His stamina, on the other hand, wasn't keeping up with the wolves. The pack continued for a while running through the forest at high speeds and occasionally throwing loud howls in the air.

Jason was starting to struggle to keep up with the wolves, but he had to admit that running with the wolves was fun. It was probably something he would have wanted to do if he had thought of it earlier. The fun and freedom felt when running with wolves made Jason feel exhilarated, the wind felt more sweet and clear, the bright sun more distinct, the cool shadows of the forest felt more real.

Of course, Jason didn't know where he was going, But with Boops constantly mapping out the area he wasn't worried. The wolves weren't going to do anything to him, so he did what anyone in his circumstances would do, enjoy it. He ran through the forest jumping across small ditches with the agility of one of his fellow runners.

Jason even tried to do the naruto run. He failed and almost fell on his face. Thankfully some random wolf made sure he wasn't hurt. Jason started to think about why the wolves were treating him so well.

It shouldn't have just been because of the pets and food right? there should be something more then just him giving them food for them to treat them so well.

Jason threw the thought into the wind, for now, he would enjoy the adventure and trip without worrying about anything else, and he had to admit it really did feel good, getting rid of all of the worries he had, even if it was just for a quick moment.

He had just about reached the end of his stamina when the entire pack stopped suddenly. Jason almost crashed into the wolf in front of him but the wolf behind him caught him before he plowed into the wolf.

Jason paused and looked around, his surrounding had felt like a blur when he was running so looking around he couldn't tell where he was, according to Boops he had been running for the past few hours but he didn't really feel any time had passed even though the sun was starting to set and show off a rosy glow.

Different from when the pack was running before the pack was now quiet and stealthily moving closer to a spot. There were no more howls that stirred a strange emotion in Jason. Instead, it was just dead silence and Jason could only make out the occasional soft pant from one of the wolves nearby.

Soon they pack started to sneak through bushes and under heavy foliage, forcing Jason to crouch in order to keep up he started to fall to the end of the group. Jason could tell that something was happening so he kept his silence. Suddenly the pack started to thin out and wolves started to get into a single file line. Their formation was now like a winding snake slithering through bushes and underbrush completely undetected by anything.

Jason suddenly stopped. He watched as the wolves in front kept on moving except every now and then a wolf would stop suddenly and wait. A few minutes of dead silence and Jason saw the alpha wolf appear behind him when the alpha was supposed to be in the front leading the pack.

Jason finally realized that the wolves had just made a large circle. They all faced inward, some were just standing there quietly others had their feet pacing softly on the grass.

Jason peeked through the bushes, he could see light, the distinctive light of a fire. He also started to hear some chattering.

A sudden realization came to him, he knew what was going on. He was in a raid.

The alpha wolf next to him snarled bare its fang and gave off the loudest howl he had ever heard. It didn't help that the alpha wolf was next to him when he gave off the howl. His head started to pound and a ringing noise was prevalent in his head. He needed a few seconds to shake off his headache. He looked around, to see where the wolves were, they were gone. He looked back at the camp that was being invaded he could see shadows running toward the camp at breakneck speed.

Jason didn't want to lose out on the free EXP and drew his sword and ran after the wolves.

He still wasn't totally sure whether or not the camp's users were human, but he really didn't want to think about what he would do if they were. Thankfully the inhabitants of the camp were goblins. This camp was a bit different from the one he had raided. The goblins had a few stone ramparts and defenses to hide behind, their defensive structure was just fallen wagons and other wooden crates pilled up. Instead of running and fleeing like when Jason encountered goblins, they mounted an actual defense, sometimes attempting to counter-attack the wolves.

Jason ran around killing goblins as they were all lower level than him, sometimes he would steal kills from the wolves, its not like they leveled up right?

Jason killed another goblin and turned to check on how the wolves were doing. An expression of shock covered Jason's face. Apparently those goblins were not well-liked by the wolves as the wolves were tearing the goblins into shreds. Jason watched as a wolf grabbed a goblin by the head killing it with its sharp teeth and another wolf ran up and grabbed its feet to create, well shish kabob.

Jason was surprised to see that the fluffy wolves had turned into these brutal killing machines, he then got even more thankful that he didn't get on their bad side and still he got a crap ton of EXP.

*Boom*

A crash was heard from behind one of the fallen wagons nearest the campfire. A huge shadowy figure emerged to which all of the wolves bared their teeth in hatred and anger
