218 Amour

Jason and the reborn roses followed the elder to the armory. Excitement was the only thing they felt as walked down the mansion halls, its beautiful white walls with artful roses that were inscribed on it.

Jason could see multiple different types of roses on the walls of the mansion just like how each of the roses on the outside of the wall had their own unique background and what Jason assumed to have a deeper meaning.

The glowing rose inscriptions seemed to change as the platoon walked down the hallways. They shifted and moved around making an empty blank white space on the walls.

The rest of the platoon was too excited for their new amour but Jason and Boops noticed it. On the empty space, the roses inscriptions had moved to make. A new inscription was drawn on the walls.

Jason couldn't see anyone making the inscriptions and Boops didn't detect any person hidden behind the walls carving the inscriptions. The new inscription seemed to be drawn onto the walls by an unseen force.

A glowing red line started slowly forming the beautiful outline of a rose. It continued down the stalk and forming the ground that the rose stood on.

Once the outline was completed the red line stopped and the outline slowly started to burst with color. The rose while it had the red outline didn't have the normal rose-red color. Instead, it was white and gave off a slight fluorescent glow, it had faint dark blue mixed with purple edges on its side mixed into the white of the flower and as ones gaze traveled towards the center of the rose you could see a sky blue burst from the middle covering the center of the flower. But in the end, the blues and purples were only highlighting to the pure white flower that besides the edges and top of the rose was the primary color.

Bits of what Jason could only describe as sparkles covered the entire rose making it glint in the light of the hallways.

And as the ground underneath the rose started to get filled in, Jason gasped and then smilled to himself as it had finally dawned on him what these roses meant.

The ground was dark almost pitch black with wisps of haunting white mixed in. A cluster of dark blood red rose petals were strewn everywhere on the ground withered and dying.

Though the ground of that rose was the only dark and depressing one in the entire hallway. The sparkling rose reborn in the midst of that terrible battlefield was truly beautiful to look at.

Jason smilled as he looked at the new rose being drawn onto the walls. He now knew what all of those roses inscribed onto the walls and hallways of the mansions meant. He knew what they represented.

And something miraculous happened as he walked along. In Jason's mind space the originally white space that Boops resided in. The giant hallway that stretched to what seemed to be a endless distance. The one that would reach the doors that housed Jason's skill rooms.

That hallway slowly changed.

Patched of lush green grass started to grow, they didn't fill the hallway in fact, they barely even covered a noticeable part of the room. But from those patched of green grass, roses bloomed.

Beautiful pristine red roses rose from those patches of grass and gave the formerly completely white space some atmosphere.

Boops in his floating orb form, floated around happily zipping to one patch of blooming roses and to the other sometimes rolling around the grass and other times pressing his noseless orb body to the roses pretending as if he could smell it.

All of these miraculous things happening in Jason's body but he didn't notice it.

The elder stopped at a door and extended his hand towards it. He looked at the platoon and smilled and said in an aged voice

"in here, you will find your weapons, each and every one of you knows what weapon and amour you need, go and find them"

And after the elder finished the huge metal doors that kept the armory open slowly opened.

As the platoon gazed inside their eyes lit up and huge smilled were plastered on their faces.

Neatly stacked in a room almost as large as the chamber before were thousands of weapons. All shining and in pristine condition. Full body suits of amour were lined row after row each on with the rose household inscription on it.

Racks of swords laid next to them silently waiting for a person to take them up and bring them into battle. Deadly spears handed on the walls of the armory each and every one of them emitting a bloodthirsty desire.

Large tower shields were hanged up on a rack showing its amazing strength. They seemed to be literal fortresses.

Boxes of daggers were laid next to the tower shields ready for an able rouge to carry them into battle.

Long swords forged by countless blacksmiths were embedded in pedestals like legendary weapons. Bows and countless quivers of arrows sat next to them their strings strong and clean and the feathers of the arrows smooth and fast.

Sleek suits of amour were next to the bulky looking ones. Instead of the metallic color on the other suits, it had a dark sheen to it perfect for running through forests and other rough terrains. It had less amour than the rest, with most of the defense focusing on key parts like the heart and chest.

More mobility based amour was placed next to the daggers with strong pieces of leather and cold black metal gauntlets. There were so many more weapons that it would take almost a day to look through them all.

The entire platoon looked back at the elder who was standing at the door. They looked at him wondering if all of this glorious amour and weapons was for them.

The elder just smilled, his wrinkled old face showing off the many years of age he had lived through.

That smile was enough for the platoon and so they walked into the armory, they didn't touch anything but just looked left and right at the weapons that felt to clean and pristine for them to bear as weapons.

One of the red barrack members was thinking this as he walked down one of the rows of large metal armor. He was thinking of just taking a random suit if need and then leaving to celebrate with his family.

But as he walked down, something drew his eye. It was a tower shield, it didn't look any different to any of the other shields next to it. But to that red barrack member, the entire room seemed to center onto that one shield. All of the light streaming from the windows seemed to shine on that one shield. The red rose knight looked around wondering why nobody had noticed that shield.

After observing for a bit he noticed that nobody was paying attention to it. So he carefully walked up to the tower shield and gently took it down from where it hanged.

It was a strong shield with steel as its base and a copper ornament on it. The red rose knight placed his hands on the handle, and it was like a jolt of electricity passed through him as he touched it.

The red barrack member looked at the shield in amazement and slid his entire arm into the shield.

A grin passed his face as he held it in his arms. He felt like that weapon was made for him, it even accounted for the fact that he sometimes couldn't cover his left shoulder completely with a small jut of metal fashioned as a wing on the left side that could be used as an additional cover or with its sharp edges as a weapon.

Similar things were happening to each of the platoon members even Charlie and Lyle people who had already gotten a perfect sword had spotted an awesome set of amour that they would definitely need.

Jason on the other hand. Looked down at his gear in utter confusion. The moment his brain space had changed. His amour and sword did too.

His iron amour that covered his chest, started to shink into a tight and sleek suit. The amour shifted from a bulky mess into a tight-fitting suit of steel amour.

It had numerous greaves on it, on his shoulders and elbows it had small spikes on the end of it and its overall color turned into a shining steel color. On his chest, single small inscription of a rose was carved into it, the same emblem that had been drawn onto the wall of the mansion.

Jason's sword also changed. From its regular iron-grey color. It grew longer and seemed to give off a brighter glow. The hilt of the sword grew enough to cover Jason's entire hand safely and again a rose inscription was put onto it.

Jason looked at the stats of his new amour that had just grown.

Jason nodded to himself in satisfaction and looked around one more time to see if there was anything he wanted to get. Of course, he would get something for the new silver wings guild and Perseus and Arjuna if he could.

Jason stretched his arms and walked deeper into the armory.

He knew that this was the end of his first journey. The rose knight journey, and he was proud to be a part of it.
