1 wait on a cold wintry night

3 am, wintry night,

I'm having trouble sleeping tonight,

I see her picture in my wallet,

She got such a beautiful smile,

And I feel a bit alright,

I don't know what you call-it, maybe love?,

She looks so pretty in that bonnet,

It makes me feel good for awhile.

4 am, I got plethora of thoughts,

My head spinning,

Like I had too many vodka shots,

Trying to form a sentence but all I could come up with are dots,

Am I gonna end? Or is this a new beginning?

Yeah, I'm all better,

"I'm fine" Yeah, you know that's a lie,

It's 5 am, now should I call her? Or pen down a Letter!

It's getting colder- I don't even have a sweater.

I take a look out of the window, but all I could see is the grey sky.

And I don't know why?

She's all I got in my mind.

My feets all cold, don't wanna leave the bed,

Tears frozen- they won't come out,

So I laugh instead,

I'm sad, feel like a walking dead,

But her picture reminds me,

Atleast I ain't dead,

Hanging by a thread.

6 am, the temp got lower,

I'm holding onto her picture,

Reminiscing the moments,

It's such a blessed life- I got to know her,

My mind's playing a flashback,

Like a recorded videotape,

High-speed, but I got a flat track,

Blocking my great escape.

7 am, the sunrise hits my face,

My soul is warming up,

The darkness beginning to efface,

In the kitchen- making my breakfast,

Sipping coffee from my favourite cup,

She texts- Good morning, wassup?

8 am, gotta take a bath- but the water's still cold,

Switching on the heater- waiting for it to get lukewarm,

Gotta shave my beard,

It's making me look old,

Her picture gave me strength,

Got too much of it- Hope's brimming,

Yeah I changed my look- just a lil trimming.

9- am, putting my shirt on,

Took a look in the mirror,

Hell, I broke a button,

Couldn't find another,

Like I dropped a coin in the river,

Now I wish you were here mother,

Took another from my wardrobe- I got a plethora,

Green shirt- giving off a bright aura.

10 am, I'm going out now,

Her existence helps me alleviate,

I made a promise to myself- took a vow,

Even though when I wake up in morning looking for breakfast in my apartment all I find is an empty plate,

No matter how long, for her I'll forever wait.

10 pm, I got back from work,

I saw her in the kitchen- making dinner,

"How did you get in?",

"Through the door moron."

Its been so long I forgot She got my apartment keys,

"What did you make?"

"Pizza with some extra cheese."

12 am, I'm staring into her eyes,

Grabbing her too tight,

Caressing her hair aside,

Kissed her all night,

Suddenly winter's gone,

I'm feeling warm,

She said I'm here to stay,

I said I ain't gonna let you go anyway.
