2 Nightmare Relieved

Springing up from the wooden floor of the carriage Cameron looks around, only to find the piles of cheese, still wrapped stacked around him. Accompanied with the sounds of George shouting the wagon comes to an abrupt stop, as it does one of the more precarious piles wobbles resulting with a cheese wheel falling to hit Cameron in the head.

Rubbing his head where a purple bruise is beginning to form Cameron reaches to his pack taking his fathers longsword. Holding the blade in its sheath Cameron climbs over the obstacles to reach George at the front of the wagon.

Looking around he can see the chaos and panic of people running here and there, men scavenging tree branches off the forest floor just of the road as makeshift weapons. Woman and children making their way to the rear of the caravan, for the most part calm and orderly until the screaming starts.

Ear piercingly loud Cameron can tell the noise is coming from an individual rather then a group, mostly becuase the noises is cut of suddenly.

"Why is everything the same, I thought the ambush was a dream. After all who would attack a caravan on route to the capital!"

Patting Cameron on the shoulder "Dream, what are you thinking Cameron, you need to focus. Your father was a knight remember? So get out there and deal with the problem!"George says gesturing towards the front of the caravan.

Slightly panicking Cameron replies "But George I will die!"

"Hah die, what are you thinking its at most just a few bandits now go deal with it. After all that was the agreement for you riding along, to act as guard." George says with an irritated look.

"Ok, maybe your right. I can do this, I got surprised last time so all definitely survive this time."

Having said that Cameron twists his fathers ring for good luck before hoping of the wagon and beginning to run towards the front of the caravan.

Seeing a large group of men shoving their way to the front of the caravan only a short distance away Cameron runs to meet them. Getting closer he can see that they are holding rough weapons rusty swords, daggers, and large clubs. Some members of the group appear to be wearing old leather armor, although they don't look like they'll provide much better protection then Cameron's thick cloth clothes.

As cameron gets closer he overhears part of their conversation.

"Wonder what's going on bandits maybe?"

"Don't know don't care, so long as we follow boss it won't be a problem!"

"That's right boss can handle anything he will probably take care of the bandits single handed!"

A massive man over seven feet tall carrying a pair of clubs as thick as a mans waist turns to face the men. "Haha your all right I will crush those bandits! You lot just mop up the ones I miss!"

A few resounding cries of "you got it boss!" were heard and the group charged forward with Cameron in tow. Within a few minutes the group reached the front of the caravan were they were met with a horrible scene.

Bodies strewn everywhere littering the ground men, woman, children, even the animals all lay dead. Blood coating everything the wagons sprayed all over the sides while on the ground pools of blood began to form several inches deep.

A few of the men began to vomit while others shakily gripped their weapons, one man turned to run back into the caravan when it happened. A cloud of arrows rained down from the sky striking the group as well as Cameron and with it panic ensued. The group began running in different directions, those that still could anyways. The unfortunate ones lay on the ground dead, the boss must have made a particularly temping target as he alone had seven arrows imbedded in him.

Cameron clutched his left arm where an arrow had imbedded itself, gritting his teeth he bent down to pick up his dropped blade causing an arrow to fly over him. Holding the grip Cameron draws the blade looking around for enemies, he sees a large group of about fifty men running towards the groups survivors. An arrow shoots out from the caravan killing the lead runner of the group but a volley responds from the woods raining down on the caravan killing Cameron instantly.
