9 Fighting a Mage

Stretching his left arm Cameron reaches around touching various objects in the wagon. "Nothing out of the ordinary, at least as far as I can tell."

Taking the ring from his right hand Cameron holds it up to examine it. "Looks and feels the same, simple bronze ring thats smooth to touch. Then why" eyes began glowing green "is it invisible to my element vision? I'll need to find an expert to answer my questions. Hopefully there's one in the capital, until then though." Slipping the ring back onto his finger. "I need to do everything possible to save the caravan.

With George's yelling the wagon begins coming to a sudden stop. "Got to hurry." Cameron mutters. Grabbing his longsword Cameron jumps out the back of the wagon, and ignoring George's yelling about protecting his wagon and his merchandise makes his way towards the front of the caravan.

As he runs his eyes glow a soft green light as wind elements begin pushing his back propelling him forward while the wind parted way in front of him. His control over the elements had never felt so natural as he ran, as if they wanted to be guided by Cameron and his core energy. After only a few moment Cameron reached the front of the caravan where he could see the masked man holding pure water orb still untainted by blood.

Seeing Mike steeping forward the approach the masked man Cameron screams out "Get back! That man is a murderer!" Whilst sprinting towards the masked man hoping to get in between him and the caravan members.

Seeing his approach the masked man pocketed the orb and from his cloak pulled a crossbow firing it at Cameron. Seeing the bolt Cameron raised his left hand summoning a gust of wind to stop it mid-flight. Drawing his sword with his right hand he stabs towards the masked man while summoning another gust of wind with his left hand to unbalance the man.

While doing this Cameron can hear the sounds of screaming and panic behind him as well as Mike yelling for order. One person in particular although Cameron does not see who screams with such a loud noise and high pitch it causes his ears to start hurting.

As the wind approaches the masked man it blows around him as if there is an invisible barrier blocking the wind from touching the man. Stabbing with his sword the blade bounced off an invisible barrier about a foot away from the masked mans body. Taking his longsword in two hands Cameron begins to beat ferociously onto the invisible barrier, as he did he noticed that only rarely would the blade bounce off the barrier but more often it would sink into the barrier and Cameron would be forced to expend more energy pulling it out.

While dodging a crossbow bolt shot by the masked man Cameron thought fast then his eyes gradually began to glow green. In the area where man once stood there was now an egg shaped hole of wind elements in the shape of a man. Suddenly from out of the hole shot a bolt, Cameron tried to jump to the side but to late as the bolt was still going to hit him in the right shoulder. Then a surge of wind elements with an almost angry attitude rose up around Cameron tearing the bolt into shreds before it could hit him.

Surprised and excited by this Cameron guides the angry wind elements to group together before all striking into a single section of the barrier. Ending his elemental view and returning the world to its previous state Cameron watches as a spear formed of wind appears before him then flies straight piercing through the barrier created by the masked man. As the barrier shatters Cameron can finally see its true form for an instant before it collapse utterly. In that moment he realizes it was formed of water with several blocks of ice floating amongst it, many pieces with deep scarring from his blade.

Looking down at his longsword he finds many cracks and fractures throughout the blade, while the edge of the blade was chipped badly in several places. It appears ready to fall apart at any moment. Looking up from the blade Cameron sees the masked man lying on the ground blood gushing out from a large hole in his chest. Approaching him carefully and seeing no movement Cameron raises his blade to deal the finishing blow when suddenly the man throws a small orb towards his face. Striking instinctively Cameron's blade collides the the orb shattering in the process, but in the next moment Cameron hears the distinctive sound of cracking before a explosion of bloodied water hits him.

Although the wind elements have formed a barrier around him in time Cameron is still sent flying over the nearby caravan members to land on the canvas roof of a nearby wagon. Energy expended completely from the blast his head strongly collides with a support nocking him unconscious immediately.

After an unknown amount of time Cameron is woken by a cheese wheel landing on his forehead. Groaning Cameron rubs his head while looking around, and with surprise and confusion notices his longsword missing from its usual place on his pack. Making his way to the front of the wagon Cameron peers out the front to see an unknown man driving the wagon and a massive castle with walls standing forty feet tall stretched out before him.
