Chapter Three

Dragons are creatures to be afraid of. They are powerful, intelligent and prideful beings. They are one of apex predators of the universe. A person who has a dragon as his companion should be a powerful existence, but here were 5 dragon eggs waiting to be incubated. So one could come to the conclusion that Targaryens were really powerful. They had the ability to be one of the greatest houses in the Dragon Realm.

A year has passed since Claude came to Leslie and Milo's mansion.

Now Claude was 1.5 years old.

Milo was sitting on a couch in the main hall, thinking about something with Claude sitting on his lap.

There wasn't any significant growth in Claude except for his hairs. Previously he was somewhat bald, but now he had some hairs growing on his head. Mysteriously, he had white hair growing on his head which was a headache because that would attract attention which was the last thing he needed.

Claude was playing with something which looked like a bullet. On the table, there were papers scattered all over it with designs made on all of them.

(If I use brass for shell casings, it should be able to stable enough to hold gunpowder but not enough to engrave magical runes) thought Milo

Then he noticed his wife moving to and fro, and kept carrying books onto the table.

He put Claude aside, and picked up a book, it read " Basic alphabets of Human Language".

As Leslie entered the hall, Milo couldn't help but ask

" Are we beginning to teach him? "

" Yes" said Leslie as she kept more books on the table.

" So, we are starting with languages, are we?" inquired Milo and as he said this, Milo stood and picked Claude up and said

" We're starting to educate you now, so learn properly. It's for survival. "

" You shall teach him human language and I shall teach him elven language. Is that alright with you? " asked Leslie.

"yes, it is fine by me" replied Milo.

This world or rather this whole universe was a wonderful place. Here, those seemingly impossible stories were true. Every boy's dream of throwing fireball was true here. Magic existed here and it wasn't hidden from society. Mages weren't shunned from society rather they were respected. Some were feared for their prowess. Some were loved for their noble deeds and characters. Everyone here could be a mage as long as one had magical affinity whether one was a noble or a commoner.

But having magical affinity wasn't enough, there were many factors affecting one's ability to become a mage. And one of them was language.

Language was the medium through which magic was casted through. It's importance in magic could be paralled to the need of blood to the body.

In this universe, there are various realms, Dragon Realm, Elven Realm, Dwarven Realm, Demonic Realm, Human Realm to name a few. These realms may differ from each other in various ways, but they share a common aspect. Magic reigns supreme. Everything else is secondary.

All these realms have their own languages. Dragon realm would have dragonic language.

Elven realm would have elvish language. In the beginning all these realms were isolated from each other, all the races living in their own realms, ignorant of other Realms. But a long time ago, an unknown explorer from Human realm found a bridge. He belonged to a small world under Human realm.

Generally realms had many worlds under it. Numbers would vary among each realm, for example Human realm has hundreds of world under it whereas it is estimated that Demonic realm has thousands of world under it. That's why Demonic realm is one of the strongest realm due to it's sheer population.

Anyways, The bridge was a way to get into other realm. Bridge's floor was colorful like a rainbow. It had many colors intermixed with each other which gave it a out of the world feel. It had a portal on it's end which led to God knows where. Since bridge's discovery, countless expeditions were carried out. And through many experimentations and bloodshed, it was confirmed that bridge led to an another world. There were other types of portal too, which led to different realms but they were very few and generally, supreme powers had control of it.

It was a ground breaking discovery, sensing many opportunities, now every one wanted to control it which led to many inter and intra world wars. Many kingdoms and empires rose and fell. After lots of blood was shed, some kingdoms and empires took control of it with help or without help.

One good example of it was Callisto world, it was the world in which Claude was currently present. It was a Low Order World. There were many kingdoms present in it. Claude currently resided in the Frey kingdom which was one of the five kingdom which were grade five, present on Callisto. Luckily, they had a Bridge in their kingdom but they didn't have enough power to control it themselves, so they allied with Andulacian Fedaration and Pandvas Country which were Grade 5 kingdom and shared control over the bridge with each other. Their alliance is called FAP alliance, which was made up of the first letters of each participant in alliance.

Bridge in Frey kingdom led to another world called Furan which was also a Low Order World under Human realm. After a bitter war, between FAP alliance and Kingdoms of Furan, which lasted for 9 years, FAP alliance finally won and now controls about 30% of Furan.

War was really productive, and though it had a hit on the population, it really notched up the power of alliance by a step. Furan was a underdeveloped world, way behind Callisto's magical and scientific advancement. But they really gave a scare to the alliance, through their bodies and knowledge of martial arts. Furanese or residents of Furan have strong bodies and with strong martial arts to complement them, they were a frightful opponents in battlefield. But with Callisto's great cannons and weapons, they won the war.

Inside the Mansion

Claude was currently making some incoherent sounds. Sometimes a low pitched sound, sometimes he would just growl, but one could notice that he was learning, and at a very fast pace. Soon incoherent sounds turned into understandable alphabet. Right now he was learning alphabets of human language from Milo.

"Very good Claude, you really are a prodigy, eh" praised Milo

Claude just replied with " Aba Aba "

Milo burst out laughing.

Soon Leslie entered the hall and said " My turn"

Milo handed Claude to her and moved aside to sit on a chair to continue his research. The designs on the paper of Milo research were very similar to canons and weapons used in war against Furan. But design here were more sophisticated than the weapons of FAP alliance.

Leslie sat down and said to Claude " Let's start"

Claude once again replied " Aba aba"

Leslie just smiled and began teaching him.

Few days had passed

Claud was presently learning elven alphabets from Leslie.

Leslie let out a sigh and said " Maybe, you could really do it."

Leslie said so because she too was stunned with his intelligence, he had grasped alphabets of Elven language under a few days, his pronunciation wasn't that refined but he had a basic grasp over how to say alphabets. His comprehension was unmatched in this world. Besides teaching Claude human and elven language, they would sometimes bring weird bright colored crystal near him and take out the energy out of it and try to assimilate in Claude's body.

Suddenly Leslie turned her head and looked at her husband

" We might have to start teaching him magic soon"

Milo didn't say anything and kept on doing his research.
