4 Chapter 4

We fought our way through the large crowd and made it back to the car. I got into my room the same way I left, undetected. I immediately climbed onto my bed and pulled up the sheets to my shoulders, and I pretended to be asleep.

Just like usual, Diego came and did the bed check, and he kissed my force head before he left my room. My phone buzzed next to me after some minutes, and I groped for it.

"I hope we can do this sometime other time, maybe just the both of us next time *smiley face*. Have a happy night rest...Arthur." The text said

I placed my phone close to my chest and smiled at the ceiling fan, but something occurred to me at that moment. Where did Arthur get my phone number from? I didn't give it to him. I know neither Lorenzo nor Kevin would do that without my consent. But who cares anyways.

The next day came in a flash, my night was short and it felt like I hadn't taken any sleep all through the night. I acted sluggish all morning, and at some point Diego got annoyed. But what could I have done? I myself couldn't explain why I acted in such manner.

I arrived at school 10minutes before the first period bell rung, and the first person I spotted was Arthur. He was by the basketball court chatting with some other players. He turned to my direction then smiled, just before he waved at me. I made up my mind to ask him to be my date to the prom. I took a step forward and it felt like I was been pulled to the ground. I held on to my bag pack tightly and didn't bother to stop myself from falling. I might have tripped on something, I thought. But just before I reached the ground, I felt a strong arm around my waist. The person who had saved me from falling, pulled me towards him, and I immediately straightened myself.

I then turned to whoever had saved me from falling, just so I could appreciate the save.

"I don't think he would like it if you approached him with a pretty dress stained with mud." Lorenzo said.

It turned out Lorenzo had saved me from falling. "Thank you Lorenzo" I said.

"You're welcome, I was approaching you anyways. I just thought, maybe i could walk you to class, or we maybe grab a snack before class or something." He said.

"Oh" was all I could say. I turned back to the last place I sighted Arthur, but this time he was gone.

I missed my chance. I sighed and then focused back on Lorenzo. Lorenzo on the other hand looked a bit gloomy that morning. On a normal morning, he would always give me a good morning hug.

"I think we can grab an apple at the cafeteria, then we walk to class together. How does that sound?" I said

Lorenzo lit his face up, "That sounds great" he said happily. I always loved Lorenzo's smile. It shows his loving and kind side of him.

I placed my right arm around his left arm, and we both headed towards the school breakfast cafeteria. We both got an apple and a mini bottle water, right before first period.

First period came and left, so did the second, third and fourth. Lunch time soon arrived, and students hurried to the cafeteria like as if lunch was a celebrity, and the wanted a photo. On my way to the cafeteria, I spotted Arthur down the hall. He was returning some of his books into his locker.

"Come on, go say hi or something. You can use this chance to ask him to be your date." someone whispered from behind.

I was about to turn around, but Kevin stepped forward from behind.

Where had he been all morning? He missed all four classes, which was unlike him, by the way I meant Kevin.

"Come on go..." he persuaded

"Alright" I said.

I approached Arhtur slowly, at the same time turning back to where I left Kevin. Each time I turned around, his lips read "Go already" or "You got this" or "Hurry" but the next time I turned around, the next thing I read was "Move...Watch out"

Watch out? Watch out for what. I was bewildered. just then I bumped into someone, and I fell down backwards.

"Are you alright Elena?" a voice asked. The voice sounded concerned.

"Yeah....yes I'm alright" I answered, and the person I bumped into helped me up.

Arthur!

I bumped into Arhtur. Clumpsy me, what was I thinking.

"Thank you" I said blushing

"You're welcome, well i guess can say we've helped each other" he said with a smile. That moment reminded me about the first time we met, the evening i saved him.

"umm...where are you off to now?" he asked

"I was on my way to the cafeteria with Kev...." I said then paused. I turned around to where I left Kevin, but he was gone.

He ditched me!

"I believe you are looking for Kevin?" Arthur said

"Yes" i answered

"He walked into the chemistry lab just before you turned around." Arhtur answered

Chemistry lab...what was Kevin doing there? I won't be surprised if he went in with a female student.

"Did he walk in alone?" I asked

"No, Ava called him in" Arhtur answered.

Ava was Kevin's date to the school prom. She was from a wealthy family and she's of the best students in grade12b. I guess she had something urgent to discuss with him.

"Oh ok"

"Okay so I'll see you later in class, I need to be somewhere right now" Arthur said. He turned around to leave, but I placed a restraining hand on his arm.

"Arhtur....sorry but please can you spare me a minute from your time. I need to ask you something."

"Sure" he said

Yes, this was it, I'm going to ask him to school prom. I could feel my heart beat beating like it wanted to escape from my chest.

"Would you go to the school prom with me?" I asked shyly.
