Light of Hope? - 2

"What is it, sir?" Brig came forward and asked curiously.

"You idiot!! Run!" Askar yelled back as he ran in the opposite direction.

Bran and Moli noticed something, so they looked up, and what they saw made their hearts jump. They also felt the same fatal danger as Askar did.

They started to run however for some reason the fatal danger didn't decrease. Instead, it grew expediently. They looked back again and saw it was about to touch the ground. So, they just halted in their tracks and stood there.

The general looked at the dropping nukes and thought to himself. 'Son, I hope you marry a beautiful wife and give me a couple of cute grandchildren.'

Wisky took a locket out of his pocket and opened it. There was a picture of him and his wife in it. He smiled with tears running down his cheeks. "Hella, take care of our future child."

Then the moment came.

All of the nukes detonated on the ground, one after another.

First, it was just silence. It was like nothing had happened.

However, this silence didn't last long. An explosive mushroom cloud rose in the air.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

As this explosion expanded, the ground got razed. The earth's crust got pushed down to the ground, which made the ground rise up along with the edge of the explosion.

The monsters and soldiers melted down to the ground. They didn't have the time to scream as their deaths came in a matter of seconds.

The explosion enveloped the city in a couple of seconds, and the city was close to a hundred kilometers long. Despite that, the explosion didn't halt its progress. It went on even further than that.

Luckily, the soldier bought enough time for civilians to escape the city. Still, they were hit by the shockwave and ran with their lives when they saw the nukes drop. So they were further away from it.

After going much further than the city, it stopped.

It stopped in its tracks. However, its devastation and the mushroom that it made could still be seen, even from space. Its height had reached past the O-Zone layer.

This also caused earthquakes, and warnings for tsunamis were given in many regions.

Slowly, the mushroom cloud settled down, as well as the dust and smoke.

What remained were just the ruins of a city that was hard to recognize. It can not be called a ruined city; perhaps it should be called a giant pit or crater. That is caused by a huge meteorite or comet.

"Cough Cough.." However, as soon as the dust settled down, a sound of someone coughing came from the center of the explosion.

"It al..most killed me." It was none other than Askar. He did survive, but with his whole skin burned and melted down. "What kind of weapon did these humans create!?"

Askar was shocked that mortals could invent such a destructive weapon. "Glad they don't know how to use this energy by concentrating it; if they did, we would have a hard time."

Askar looked around and said."Are you still alive?"

Then, from the ground, Askar's captains rose, their bodies deformed and their bottom halves almost gone.

Bran said it with great difficulty. "Lord, we can be considered okay. If we didn't dig deep into the ground last seconds, we wouldn't have been alive anymore."

"Great job, my servants," Askar praised them while pondering to himself. 'They seemed too scared.'

Brig suddenly said."Lord, I think I became stronger. Look my injuries are healing too fast."

"Huh," Askar got confused, he glanced at himself, and he was surprised. "How is this possible!? Where is all this energy coming from?"

Moli answered that question. "Lord, I think those weapons triggered something on this planet. Energy is seeping out of the ground."

"Your right, I can feel it and it is increasing faster and in more quantity," Bran said in shock as his injuries got healed at a fast rate, which was almost catching up to how he looked. And the broken limb and muscle are forming themselves. "Lord, don't you feel the energy here is purer than in Gandor!?"

Askar's eyes widened in shock as he returned to his previous appearance. 'Don't tell me the Lords are invading this planet because of this!?'

Then Askar's eyes sparkled as he thought of something. 'Why don't I use those weapons and make this world fully revived? Hahaha. then I can all the resources to get to the top!'

As Askar was dreaming about his glorious future, his captains got fully healed and stood up.

Moli suddenly tensed up and got into a defensive stance. She quickly warned others. "Something is coming!"

"Hmm," Askar said, as he and others looked in Moli's direction. Now that it was night and some dust was still blowing in, it was hard to see. So. Askar extended his senses, and when he got a little further, he got blocked.

Askar arrogantly pushed forward, but he got blocked again. Also, he seems to have enraged some sort of beast that he shouldn't be.

Glowing red eyes came into his senses, which were veiled in absolute darkness. And from those eyes, he felt a fear, a fear that even the big guys from his world didn't give. People have to know that attacks from those beings are far much greater than nukes.

"You all come behind me!" Askar quickly ordered his captains. And they followed it without a second thought. Because they were also scared to think of anything.

StepStepStep..

Sounds of footsteps came, as a being veiled in complete darkness revealed itself. Those red eyes loomed over Askar and his team.

Askar gathered his courage and asked. "Sire, who might you be?"

However, that being didn't speak to them immediately. Instead, it just watched them.

"Lord, what do we do?" Moli whispered.

"Wait," Askar tried to question again. "Sire, is the- ."

Askar got cut off as the being spoke for the first time.

The being asked in a little hoarse, low-pitched voice."Tell me the name, the name of the world you guys came from."
