8 Chapter 1 - Part 7 - The Arrival of The Overlord

"Nevermind... Since we're already here, we might as well move immediately."

Said the pouting Tiriel with a venomous gaze. It looks like she really had some grievance from being treated so crudely by him.

Well he can't do anything about it, he's still not familiar with his new body and it's powers. So he just have to swallow his own grievance from being wrongly accused by this beauty in front of him.

So with only a weak smile, Vlad then watched as she made the first step into the forest. He could only stare at her back with an apologetic wry smile.

Well seeing that he could do nothing to change it, he might as well just go along with it for now. So he followed her from behind while checking his surroundings.

"Say do you know where we are?"

He asked her curiously. He was not familiar with this forest, not even the previously green plain now turned into a waste land filled with rubles and deep gorges.

".... This is Genesis, master. The once glorius floating island, Genesis. The broken down temple from before is where you always hangout after hunting, The iridescent Palace...."

She said not even turning or stopping her advance. Vlad could not see her expression, but from her trembling body and the gloomy aura radiated from her is any indication. Then she's definitely feeling down again.

".... Oh."

Is the only things he could muster to say. He was rather calm after letting go of his unwillingness to acknowledge his situation. But now that he was calm and more rational, the mere mention of his possession is not going to effect him much anymore.

Unless he met with an enemy that could endanger his life. He would probably just shrug it off as a mere fact he need to accept.

He is that kind of person originally, someone whose bottom line is quite deep. Not to mention that as long as there's nothing that requires his serious attention, he would never treat it seriously.

So with just that Vlad then ignored her as he look around his surroundings again.

But as he was lost in his musings, he could hear a rustling sound from the west side. It sounded near, however Tiriel look oblivious to this sound.

It was as if she didn't hear or notice it. That made Vlad raised one of his eyebrow in amusement.

"Say... Is my island still floating in the sky?"

He asked again trying to figure something that bothered him the most. The rustling sound he heard a moment ago were ignored by him as he was sure that it came from far away place.

Even though he's still unsure just how powerful his power was, at the very least, he knows that he's powerful enough to flip out an entire landscape into a broken-down place.

As for control, he was confident enough to go at full throttle. He could feel a power dwelling inside him which he was sure that it was Mana.

When he was still on earth, he was unfortunately forced to learn some kind of meditation to feel an internal energy bullshit by his father. Well, he quit that after a month of practicing, after all hi thinks that it was useless to learn that thing and a waste of time.

He was still a hot blooded youngster then, he was still the kid who loves to hangout and party with his group of fake friends.

Anyway, he has been checking and trying to move that Mana inside him using the method he used to practice internal energy. The moment he walked into the forest, he was confident that he could use that mana to good use.

"Unfortunately, it's not flying anymore.... Genesis was attacked and invaded by a bunch of pest until it was left with nothing..."

Just when he was thinking about his exploits of his understanding of his body. Vlad could hear Tiriel's voice entered his ears, her voice were filled with anger and frustration when she said that.

"I see... we can talk more about it later in more detail. For now, i at least know what to do from here on wards." Said Vlad with a pondering look.

As for Tiriel, she has been walking without stopping in front of Vlad. Although her speed were decreasing significantly compared to before after talking for a while.

Not waiting for Tiriel to answer him, Vlad the continued with a serious tone, "One more thing. Which direction are we heading to? I mean, if we walked in this direction, in which country or kingdom are we going to arrive?"

Hearing that question, Tiriel stopped in her track as she made a thinking posture. Her body were looking at the left side as she put her left hand to her head.

"A few kilometres from here... is a territory of Vindic Kingdom, we need to pass through Galion mountain before we could rest at a small village called Sibil. Judging from the speed we walked, we should be arriving in that village in a week time without resting."

"A week? That's quite far. So if we go by the speed i used for running, we should be there in just a day or two right? Of course with a break in between." Vlad said with a frown as he looked at the night sky in a daze.

He was thinking and planning for the next few days. Although he doesn't recognize the name of the kingdom and the village, he was not agitated nor lose his calm.

'The only thing that i know is my own power/skill and my equipment. Everything else is unknown to me now, i really should gather some information when i go to that village.'

His thoughts were filled with how to gather information and to be as far away as possible from his previously floating island genesis.

Not even once does he think about the possibility of going to somewhere close by for supply or rest. After all, it was night time currently and not in the middle of the day.

But for Vlad, it was better to travel far and fast as soon as possible. So that he would not garner some unpleasant attention to himself.

"Master, i suggest that we stop at the Galion mountain before we go to Sibil village."

"Huh? Why?"

Vlad didn't actually mind to stop there, but he wondered why would she want to stop there first. He didn't remember any Galion mountain back in the game so he was rather curious too.

"I built a small cottage there once. However it has been a hundreds years since i last go there, so I don't know if it's still usable." Answered Tiriel while looking at Vald with a pondering expression.

Hearing that it has been hundreds years since she built that cottage, Vlad was surprised that he actually came so far away from the era of his glory.

'Just how many years since my Genesis has fallen? .... literally..' He could feel the corner of his lips twitching in annoyance.

But no matter how much he's annoyed, Vlad still need to answer the woman in front of him. So he forced himself to open his mouth and said with a calm tone, "I see, then we should stop there first to see it. I'm rather curious myself about that mountain, after all I haven't heard of that mountain back then."

Of course he hasn't heard of it, something earth shattering must've happened in the past to change the landscape like that. So he was indeed quite interested and impatient to know just how many years has passed now and what happened to the world.

All he know is that, his NPCs that he created rebelled and caused the fall of Genesis, his floating island that he was proud of.

With just a nod from Tiriel, Vlad then urged Tiriel to continue walking. No matter how impatient he was, Vlad knew that if he started to run now, he could be arriving faster.

However, he's still figuring out how to control his Mana better. So rushing now would be too wasteful and a stupid move on his part.
