16 Chapter 1 - Part 15 - The Arrival of The Overlord

Meanwhile somewhere in a luxurious looking halls, there was a woman sitting on a throne with a cold expression on her face.

Her long black hair were let loose as it fall like a curtain on her back. Her sharp eyes looking like a hawk eyeing it's prey, looking down below her.

"How many died and how many properties has been lost in the earthquake?" The woman asked with a clear exhaustion in her tone.

No matter how much she waned to look dignified, her concerns for her peoples still took away all of her bearing. A slight crease to her snow white forehead made her look quite sad.

Looking at the kneeling man before her, she was waiting for the report the man brought with him. All this time, she was too worried and has been thinking of what the cause of the earthquake to let her sleep.

However, even though she didn't sleep at all last night, there's no sign of the black eye bag to indicate her having a difficult night.

The kneeling man then raised his head showing a middle aged man with a few stubbles on his chin. He looked quite elegant and strong despite the gloomy aura around him.

With an expression filled with pain, the middle aged man then opened his mouth, ".... Reportig to Your Majesty, almost all of the buildings has been destroyed and turned into rubles, and we have counted a total of 1.000 peoples died...."

Although his tone were quite plain, the sadness that came from the man's aura cannot hide how much distress he was feeling.

Hearing just how much people has died made the Queen to frown darkly. Her eyes became wet as tears started to gather threatened to fall from her eyes.

With a reflex that has been trained for many years, she closed her eyes and regained her bearing. Looking quite serene and calm, she then stood up from her throne.

"Julio, I order you to go and seek Sage Freed for help. Tell him that i need his assistance to restore my Queendom." With her eyes still closed, she ordered the kneeling man to go and ask for help.

After she made that command, she didn't wait for the man to respond before walking away in a hurry, leaving the man still kneeling before her throne.

She was not in the mood to sit and wait for report anymore. She was the Queen of Raios, Irvelia Raios Flion, in her twenty five years of living this was the most difficult time of her lives.

In her short 6 years after ruling the Queendom, she has been through a lot of trial. Be it war, politics, and even rebellion. But she was able to solve it almost perfectly, to the point that she was able to stand firm as the fifteenth Queen of Raios.

She took over the throne after the previous Queen, her grandmother passed away. There has been many who opposed to her taking the throne, even her own mother became her enemies that fell to her cold blade...

But she still stood strong and fight to the bitter end just to make sure the Queendom stay safe for the peoples. Yet now that it was in ruin? She was so aggrieved that she wanted to scream in frustration.

Waving her right hand as she keep walking, a royal blue cloak then appeared in her right hand. Draping it to her back, she then put on the hood to hide her face.

She was in her way to see for herself just how bad the situation were. Not that she didn't believe her subordinates, but she just wanted to look with her own eyes, just how much damage has been done to her beloved Queendom.

Continuing to walk in a hurry, she didn't even care for her grace anymore. Walking in the long and luxurious corridor, she didn't care even one bit at just how messy it looked, skillfully avoiding the running servants here and there, she keep walking without being noticed by anyone.

All this time, she couldn't go outside to see with her own eyes, although she really wanted to look at it on her own. She was after all still a ruler, and not to mention that she still need to give order and make things be orderly.

But now that things have calmed down a little, she wanted to take this chance to go outside and see it. The once beautiful place she always saw in her balcony... Just what has happened to it now...

Not satisfied with the speed she was walking, She then mumbled something under her breath. Not even a second passed, her figure then started to blur and then fade away in an instant.

What lay before her eyes were the sight of a despairing citizens. Her peoples were crying and she could see that the light in their eyes has been clouded by sadness and despair.

Not to mention the broken buildings and many scorched mark of something burning. She has been hearing reports regarding lighting strike that burned half of the buildings in her Queendom.

The report could not compare to the chaos in front of hers. She has been hearing and making many order from inside the castle. She was so safe that it made her feeling remorse!

But she couldn't cone out to help even if she wanted to, she still had her duties and even if she ignored her duties and came outside to help. Her power were not enough to make her citizens safe. It would invite more hatred from them if she did.

After all, they already blamed her powerlessness to protect them. She knew that it was unreasonable and stupid, but she couldn't help but to feel hurt...

No matter how cold and ruthless she was, she still has heart to feel emotions. So being blamed because she couldn't protect them the the wrath of nature made her feel angry and indignant.

But alas, it was something that a ruler must accept. Not everyone think the same and there's still many that still believed at her rules, so she needs to stay strong no matter what. It was her promise to her late grandmother after all. To protect the Queendom as long as they still believes in her.

She became the Queen not by choice, but the die has been cast. She won't back down to anyone, not even if they're her own family. Her promises are the same as her own life, so she will fulfill it until the end.

Looking at the destroyed building and her peoples moving around cleaning the remains of their own house made her already frowning face to frown even deeper.

'Ighar told me that it happened in all of the other places too... that world ending calamity of natural disaster.'

With a slightly dazed look, Irvelia's thought were thinking about the matter that she heard last night.

Her subordinates were running everywhere trying to make contact with the other Kingdom and Empire in the Arvadia Continent. Although they still couldn't make contact with the other continent, she was sure that it happened in all around the world.

The Arch Magus even suspected that it was caused by the slumbering god in the dept of the planet.

'As much as i want to scoff at it, and no Matt how much i want to call it bullshit, but... I can't help but to believe it, only a god could cause this much damage.'

A sigh escaped her trembling lips as she observed her citizens unnoticed.
