2 Do You Wish To Die?

After a slight hesitation, Duan Yun sat in his given seat with his gaze focused on the duo. Both had similar robes of white and purple that included gold highlights.

Once laying eyesight on them, both would stand out in a crowd because of the brightness seen compared to his own dull colors of green and black.

The youth happened to be 17 or 18 and held a disgusted expression upon his arrival. His features, however, resembled the man sitting at the head seat. This left no room to whom the youngster was.

As for the Prime Minister, he was the total opposite. Instead of displeasure, he appeared pleased with a smiling face. To him, Duan Yun sitting down willing was a form of submission.

"Are there some lingering effects? Or has your body completely healed?" The gaze in which the Prime Minister's eyes stared was a snake searching for an opportunity to strike.

Ignoring the question, Duan Yun thought carefully. Sitting before him was a master pair at being shrewd. And since the moment he entered the room, the youth's eyes spoke of mockery and killing intent.

If he didn't play his cards right, a three-day coma would become a lifetime one. "Hm? First, answer a question for me. Since I was in a coma for three days, why request my presence? Surely you know the unconscious cannot come?"

His curiosity was answered with laughter. "Ahahaha! Your Highness must just, how could I know you would be awake? I only asked the servants to 'summon' you here if you were well."

Duan Yun did not miss the satire hidden in his smile. Furthermore, his original suspicion was that he had been poison to death, but it failed. After all, he could tell that he had two lives just not the details of either's life experiences.

Now though, it appeared he had underestimated the man sitting far across from him. It was safer to assume that his goal was to incapacitate him for some purpose.

Once harmed, he would then be left unqualified to perform whatever it was the Prime Minister required for him not to succeed at performing.

"Don't fret about irrelevant matters like that. More importantly, because you are still recuperating, I'll have Feng'er replace you tomorrow."

"No need, I have made a full recovery. Everything shall proceed as planned." Duan Yun made sure to catch every minuscule action the Prime Minister did.

He also needed to foil all plots aim toward him, or he would face an early crisis. "Your Highness, as the advisor of the late Emperor and now yours, my advice is in the best interest for the kingdom."

Duan Yun couldn't help but sneer in his heart. He just told him that his father died and he was still mockingly calling him 'Your Highness' instead of Your Majesty.

The goal the Prime Minister was aiming for was likely the emperor seat. Or it was better to say that he wanted to control everything.

Duan Yun could even calculate a few more pieces already.

From his past, there shouldn't be any other princes or at least any known and qualified enough to take the throne. Otherwise, they would be at the table along with him.

Then with the Emperor's death being recent, the kingdom was forced to accept a young prince as the next emperor. It could also be imagined how other nations would see this fiasco.

And what was probably occurring tomorrow had to be his coronation to the throne. But with aspirations elevated to the sky, the Prime Minister was using his position to replace his given birthright.

This was all done by letting his son take the role of a puppet emperor while he would still have his own authority as a prime minister. And with Duan Yun being the only royal bloodline one left while too ill or injured, none would question it.

In the future, Duan Yun didn't see anyone wrestling back total control from him. From there, the Prime Minister could let his descendants reign for years to come.

At this point, he could not prevent himself from sighing. The Prime Minister was too greedy. He practically owned the kingdom now but still sought for the royal family's portion also.

"It's as you say, it is only advice. I have taken what you said into consideration but still must proceed. Your son is not from the royal bloodline, do you think my ancestors will accept such foolishness?"

"I am sure that they will understand our circumstances. Besides, the people will be informed. I have no intention of hiding the fact that Feng'er is acting in your stead. Who would dare deny him? He is my son and your childhood friend. No one is more qualified than him."

Childhood friend? So what? If every random nobody claimed to be his childhood friend, would they also be eligible? Then what was the royal bloodline, garbage?

"I made my decision."

Han Feng, the person who they were discussing, had remained silent throughout the whole deadlock debate. It showed a testament to his patience seeing how he was a teen in his growing years.

Then having a father with high prestige, his own bearing was arrogant and selfish from the pampering his father gave.

From his perspective, his father was number one, and he was number two. And yet, he had to loiter there in the dining room listening to trash reject his father over and over again.

The moment the breakfast started, he was sure that the prince would see the farce for what it was and understand his place.

Instead, he played ignorant of his surroundings. This all meant the prince wanted to be ridiculed. "Listen, Duan Yun. Father is already kind. Everything he says is for yours and the kingdom's benefit. However, your actions of repeatedly denying him is a spit in the face. Yet, my father does not bring this matter up. In fact, out of courtesy for the late Emperor's compassion and fairness, my father has never paid kindness with viciousness."

Hearing the son of the Prime Minister sought to convert black to white and white to black, Duan Yun did not let him off either. 'I'm vicious and your kind? Okay then, I will be vicious!'

"I am Prince Duan, since when has it been your turn to speak before me? Do you wish to die?"
