5 Tarun likes who?

The group of five friends, Elements to be precise, were chilling around in Vivaan's hospital room. While Prashvi and Shanaya were bitching about something or someone on the couch (it happens quite often, so apparently it's all normal!) while Tarun was bobbing his head to some music he was listening through his headphones. Avyan was sitting silently on the stool by Vivaan's bed, staring into nothing, as his fingers drummed rhythmically on the bed handle as if pulling on guitar strings.

And Vivaan, well, he was observing Manik.

"So, Tarun." Vivaan suddenly addressed the man which alerted everyone out of their world.

"You like Nitya, huh? Our shy boy is not so shy, after all." He continued, gaining Avyan's full attention. One of the big revelations of the music fest's night were the romantic feelings that Tarun seemed to possess towards Nitya. Tarun had been quite an introvert his whole life, the one who liked to stay behind in the shadows while his friends caused havoc here and there. That's how he'd come in contact with Nitya and the two soon had grown up to be quite good friends in a very little time. He'd never had any other friend, particularly a female one apart from the two that he'd grown up with. He'd felt quite different around her about which he'd confided in with Shanaya. Troubled by her own relationship problems, Shanaya had decided to help him achieve his 'love', as so passionately put in words by her.

Tarun blushed a little in reply. Avyan didn't know whether to be happy or sad. Just Nitya's name was enough for him to go back into their memory lane.

"Actually, I'm going to propose to her today." Tarun informed, not noticing that he just dropped something akin to a bomb on Avyan.

"Oooh, propose and all. I didn't know you were that head over heels for Nitya." Prashvi, though awkward on the topic of Nitya, didn't leave any chance of teasing her friend. Her stance on Nitya was quite unclear at the moment. Having bullied the person in the past, she didn't have much of an impression of her. However, this was the first time her friend had ever confessed to liking someone and she didn't want to become a hurdle between the two. On the other hand, Shanaya was rather happy. Her plan was going to be a success now!

Their conversation was cut short by a knock on the door. It opened a little and the person on the other side peeped their head inside.

***************************

Nitya, though determined, yet felt a little uncomfortable as she stood outside the hospital room. She didn't have a great equation with Prashvi and Shanaya. However, Tarun was her friend while who could ever resist the funny yet charming Vivaan? Avyaan was just another story to add to the awkward cocktail of her relationships with the Elements members.

Gathering a bit of courage, she poked her inside after knocking on the door. When she saw everyone's faces, she wanted to run away for a moment but then she remembered why she was here. She entered inside with Nikith in tow. As soon as Avyan saw Nikith, he grew a little confused as well as angry but didn't reveal his emotions outside.

"Oh, Nitya. Come on, we were just talking about you." Vivaan called out in exchange to which he received shocked glances from everyone.

"Me? What about me?" Nitya asked nervously.

"Just about how much of a nice girl you are!" Vivaan covered up his intentional slip-up, simultaneously shooting Tarun a teasing glance. Though Nitya felt a bit weirded out by his mocking tone, she didn't hold onto it for long.

"How are you now, Vivaan?" She enquired walking towards his bed.

"Now that you're here to take care of me, I'm already feeling fine." He joked to which Nitya rolled her eyes in reply. She knew how much Vivaan liked to joke and play around.

Nitya stood by his bed fidgeting with her fingers, trying to figure out how to ask the next question. She wished Vivaan was alone when she came in. Two minutes of an extremely awkward silence and Vivaan couldn't take it anymore.

"Can everyone step outside for a moment? I need to talk to Nitya for a bit. Alone." He said authoritatively. Everyone was shocked for a moment.

"What do you want to talk to her about Vivaan? And that too alone? Why can't you speak in front of us?" Prashvi burst out.

"Prashvi, it's something about Nitya. It's not my place to tell." He explained. However, she was not satisfied and throwing Nitya a glare, she stomped out of the room.

"She has everyone wrapped around her finger. First Tarun, then Avyan and now Vivaan. What kind of witchcraft is she into?" Shanaya thought in her mind and she too walked out behind Prashvi, not before sending a similar glare towards Nitya.

Listening to Vivaan, Tarun and Avyan both grew tensed though. Both were nervous as to what Vivaan wanted to talk to Nitya about. Was it about them? But they couldn't do anything now as he had already asked them to step away. Tarun silently trailed out to join Prashvi and Shanaya.

"Vivaan, what are you up to? What do you want to talk to her about?" Avyan asked Vivaan.

"Avyan, are you her manager? Or perhaps her lawyer? Relax, I won't do anything to your, ahem, our Nitya!" Vivaan replied.

"Now, will you please go out for sometime? And shut the door please on your way out." Vivaan asked putting a forced smile on his face. Just as Avyan started to walk out, he turned back.

"What about this guy, Vivaan? Who even is he? Why is he here in your room?" Avyan finally asked the question he wanted to since a long time. His queries were less inspired by concern for Vivaan and more for the purpose of allaying his own jealousy.

"Hi, I'm Nikith!" The man in scrutiny spoke up, sticking out a hand towards Avyan as soon as he was mentioned. Avyan gazed at Nikith's hand for a moment and then looked back up at Vivaan.

"Well?" He prompted.

"He seems like a good guy to me. N for Nitya, N for Nikith. Makes a good couple. Don't you think so?" Vivaan smirked, looking at him.

"Just shut up!" Avyaan stormed out in anger.
