That Sad Tune

On a distant planet far away known as Astrapí lies a war that has been active for 17 years.

"Commander! There's too many!" Lieutenant Earvax shouts in his earpiece with his raspy voice.

Earvax is seen wearing one of the most advanced and protective armor that Astrapí has to offer. The armor itself could be worth more than trillions on earth. Earvax takes down about 30 people and afterward notices something red storming towards him.

"Commander, we got a problem! He's here." Earvax says, he gets a dark blue metal lightning-shaped staff from his back, "Come at me!" he shouts.

Red lightning rained down from the man in red, "Where is he?" the man said in a deep monstrous voice.

The man in red has a full metal suit with dark red fabric scattered around and 2 giant glowing red Lightning bolts making an x on his chest.

"As you can see, he's not here!" Earvax shouts and throws his staff.

The man catches the staff like it's nothing, "I'm not here to play games!" the man shouts and throws a fast and heavy punch towards Earvax.

A sonic boom is heard throughout the planet as someone else catches the punch.

"You've gotten stronger, Lillard." a man chuckles.

The man is dressed in a similar suit as Earvax's with some clear differences. The suit had few metallic pieces scattered around, smooth dark blue fabric, and 2 giant glowing lightning bolts on his chest.

"Tohnie! I told you to call me Red Socket." Red says angrily, "and you're right, I have gotten stronger," he says as his eyes glow a dark red, red lightning surrounds his body and his eyes glow red.

"That's a neat trick." Tohnie smiles and pulls Red closer to him, sending Red flying with a punch full of electricity, "As you're aware, I have my own." he says.

Red comes back harder, shooting red lightning out of his hands, Tohnie dodges most of them but takes a good hit to his knee.

The ground beneath Tohnie starts to shake, 'Guess I should stop playing" he says as he flies towards Red.

Tohnie shoots out yellow lightning at Red's chest, missing by just a hair. Red continues to shoot at tohnie who dodges almost every attack. Tohnie does a mix between punching shooting, he lands a couple of good punches and 1 lightning shot.

"Where did he get all of this power, wait!? How have I missed this, his lightning, It's red." Tohnie tells himself, "Hey Red! The hell did you do to your ring!?" he shouts.

"Oh? You're telling me you've just now noticed!? Nevermind your stupidity, we were trained to use the positive energy in our souls to power the rings, in doing so the ring gives us unimaginable power… but what happens when we use the negative energy instead? We get even more destructive power!" Red shouts with a hint of laughter.

"You did what!?" Tohnie shouts with pure anger in his voice and on his face, "You maniac!" he channels all his lightning into his hands and shoots directly for Red's chest.

Tohnie's lightning hits Red, "ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!" Red shrieks.

As all of Tohnie's power diminishes his suit begins to disappear and he falls 47 feet to the ground.

Red shakes off the attack but is still bruised, "Your time has ended-" Red's eye gets stabbed.

"Commander! Are you okay!?" Earvax asks.

"Leave Earvax… leave!" Tohnie coughs up.

"You're going to be fine-" Lightning shoots through Earvaxs heart.

"Damn imbecile," Red says.

"Don't hesitate, don't fall, be reborn, find a new wielder, one strong, and good-hearted," Tohnie whispers to his ring.

The ring flies past Red at light speed. "You gave up your ring!? Why!?" Red questioned.

"You know… as much as I do that those rings are alive… it'll find someone... stronger than you'll ever be… and end this idiotic war that you have started. " Tohnie says with his last breath.

"I'll find your ring old friend then I'll kill the wielder and the ring itself," Red tells himself.

"Hey, mom what's that song you always play?" a young boy asked.

"Well Jase, this was your father's favorite song" Mom smiled, "It reminded him of the harsh reality he lived in." Mom said while looking at a picture.

"What is it called?" Jase asked.

Present time

Jase looks in the school bathroom mirror, he sees his dark brown hair and eyes, tannish skin, and a small scar on his left cheek.

"Hey dickwod! Somebody gotta get your face looked at cause damn you one ugly son of a bitch." Terrance teased.

"Terrance grow the fuck up man," Jase said

"Or what? You gonna beat my ass up." Terrance said, towering Jase.

"You and your boyfriends over there know I can't," Jase smirked.

Terrance looks at his friends behind him and back at Jase, "You're gonna regret saying that." Terrance said with an overly happy tone.

"So you bruised your face, arm, back, and chest from falling down the stairs?" the nurse asked.

"Yeah, I'll tell you again, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going tripped and fell down the stairs." Jase lied.

The nurse gives him one of those looks like she knew he was lying, "Okay, don't tell me I really don't need to know but you better tell your mom about those bruises, or I'll tell her myself." she threatened.

Jase walks out of the nurse's office and to the roof, he takes out his phone and plays a video of his dad. It was a video of his 4th birthday, along with some of his childhood friends surrounding his dad who was telling stories of his days as a trooper. Jase's dad was quite famous around the neighborhood as he was the chief of police. Tears begin falling off Jase's eyes as he remembers that same day his dad was called into duty and didn't come back alive. The school bell rings bringing him back to his senses.

"Time to leave prison already?" Jase laughs to himself.

later

"Help!" a child screams

"A child?" he asks himself

"Help!" the child shouts

Jase looks back and sees 2 guys who are somewhat smaller than him kidnapping a kid, "Hey!" Jase shouts

"Daddy!? Mommy!?" the kid cries.

"Shit! Someone noticed us." the thin man said.

"Get the kid in the car. I'll handle the witness." the buffer guy says.

The buff guy walks up to Jase with a crowbar and swings, Jase dodges and remembers some of the training his dad taught him. The buff guy swings a couple more times, missing every one of them. Jase waits for the right moment then BOOM knocks him out with a mean right hook. He runs up to the thinner guy who saw the whole thing and holds the kid at gunpoint.

"See now, if you want this kid to survive then you'll let me go, alright?" the thin guy says.

"Alright, you can go but leave the kid here," Jase says.

"No." the thin man says.

The thin man pulls the trigger but all of a sudden everything starts to slow down.

"What the?" Jack murmurs to himself.

Lightning starts to flicker around his right middle finger, forming a ring. Once the ring was formed lightning shoots out of his hands and directly at the gun, destroying it. The blast from the destroyed gun starts to burn the thin man's hand. Jase runs up to the boy and carries him slowly to the ground, while running lightning shoots out in random directions from his body, burnings some of his clothes. Time starts to move normally, the man yells in pain, and the kid sees Jase in front of him.

The kid hugs Jase, "T-thank you." the kid cries.

Jase stands there in shock, "Your welcome, kid." Jase says looking back at the thin and buff men, "I'll call the police, you stay here." Jase says while staring at the ring which was formed on his hand.
