2 A good break

During the time they spent inside the canteen, it got colder outside.

Ruth looked to the window then to her watch and said in a small voice "Sigh… it seems that it just gets colder every second outside."

Since Theresa was sitting beside Ruth she heard everything she said, looking at her she asked: "So, we can't ice skate later then?"

Staring at Theresa, Ruth tells her "Yeah, we can't go out in the snow or we'll catch a cold." Grabbing Theresa's wrist she pulls her going outside. "Come on, let's go to the classroom before it gets even colder."

Looking back at the others, before Theresa could get far she grabbed Casie's arm and pulled her along "Come on guys let's go before the other students come."

Outside in the snow it was quiet and serene as the only sound they could hear was the crunching of the snow beneath their feet.

"Ahh!" A sudden shout was heard, while they were walking

Looking back they saw Theresa as she was sprawled on the snow. Judging by the looks of it, it seems that Theresa slipped on the snow and fell. When they saw this they had to suppress the urge to laugh at the sight of this.

On the snow, Theresa looked up at the sky and said "I feel cold." After saying that, Theresa started to move her arms and form a snow angel.

A few short minutes passed as the temperature kept on getting lower.

Feeling the cold temperature on her back Ruth walked to Theresa as she said: "Come on Theresa, it's getting colder and it's warm in the classroom."

Getting up from the snow Theresa's hair had bits and pieces of snow in it. It looked comical as there was snow on her back as well. Looking at this scene it was hard not to laugh as it felt funny to see the snow on their backs and hair and still had to suppress the laugh they had from earlier. Watching them laugh, Theresa had looks of confusion written on her face as she looked at friends.

Trying to stop laughing, Casie gives her a heads up about the snow and pats away the snow on their backs before resuming their walk to the classroom.

It was quiet once again in their walk to the classroom and the sounds of crunching snow accompanied it. The trees on the school grounds were all bare without leaves and covered in everything that looked like a winter wonderland.

Not many people would wake up early in the morning at five so there were only a handful of people walking outside in this cold morning, but inside the school, there were a bit more people inside.

Being inside the school was much better than staying out in the cold. Going to their lockers everybody grabbed the stuff they needed before walking out into the hallway.

Windell is a boarding school for those who either have an important background, outstanding looks, or extensive knowledge, but regardless of what standing they have Windell is a school the parents send their children there because of the unruly personalities of the children that can be deemed a problem to their parents or to society.

Utilizing the great minds of some of the students, Windell has created a different program for those students with the knowledge that surpasses others. The students that were deemed as such were to go to a different building that offers harder courses then that are usually taught.

While walking towards the other building Ruth makes a conversation as they enter "Wow, how do you guys become so smart?"

"Just study hard and you'll get the hang of it." answers Madison.

Looking at Ruth, Theresa shows a big grin at her and answers "If you read books every day, then maybe you could become smart, but you are being tutored by Casie to become smart. So is she a good teacher?"

"Yeah, she's a good teacher. I and Liam always get the lesson after she explains it.."

"No, it's you guys who are fast learners. I only taught you guys a few things and you already understood it," said Casie

"But… then how come Liam always placed last in the exams," said Christine as she looked at Liam in the back.

Grumbling Liam answers her "Ugh, that's cause I'm stupid."

Placing an arm around Liam, Kyle comforts him "It's okay Liam, at least you passed right?"

"Yeah, well that's true but..."

Annoyed by hearing his complaints Christine lashes out "Stop it, Liam! Since you can make it to the Special Courses Class that means you are smart okay! So don't belittle yourself."

"Ah~, guys don't argue. It's still so early in the morning," said Casie as she mediates the argument.

Changing the focus of the topic Kyle asks them "Guys, do we have anything to do today for class?"

"We have our annual Physical Exam today," answered Callahan as he looked at Kyle.

"We will be meeting each other later." while commenting Eleanor is excited to meet again later.

"Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to that since I can show off my hot body and let them feast their eyes on mine unlike yours." said Ruth with a silly grin on her face as she runs away, afraid to be beaten up.

"How can you be so mean." complaining to Madison at once "Look at what she said Madison. How can she be like that." Theresa pouts as she points in Ruth's direction, which in return Ruth blows a raspberry.

"Haha, sorry not sorry" Ruth yelled out as she ran away.

Looking at the departing back of Ruth, Casie turns to them "Sorry, I gotta go I remembered the Sir William asked me to do something I'll meet you guys in the classroom and I'll see you guys later"

Watching as Casie runs in the direction where Ruth ran to, everything resumed to normal with the exception of the two missing friends.

Going into the senior high school department, each floor has its corresponding grade levels for the students. Ruth, Casie, Theresa, Kyle and Eleanor were all in their third year in high school while Madison, Christine, Callahan and Liam were in their fourth year in high school.

Going to the second floor they all separated with goodbyes and hugs as the third year classrooms were located in the second floor while the fourth years were all located in the third floor.

Going to the classroom, Ruth was already seated in the back but aside from her, all the seats were empty. As they entered the Lecture Hall they all went to the seats in the back near Ruth.

As soon as they all sat down in their respective seats they started chatting with each other about various things.

A few minutes after they sat down groups of students in twos and threes came in and occupied the seats of the classroom. Gradually the classroom was filled with students.

The once quiet classroom is now filled with noise.

With the five minute bell ringing Sir William entered the classroom with Casie behind him carrying study materials. As soon as he entered the Hall the noise died down. Except for the occasional murmurs for some girls exclaiming is handsomeness.

With the materials placed down on the teacher's desk, Casie heads to the back near Madison and the others.

Sir Arthur William is the Advisor of class 1 which has the top students in the grade. In the successive classes they are divided by their grades at the start of the school year. Each class only holds fifty students each.

Sir Williams has handsome looks with his mahogany brown hair in a modern slicked back hairstyle. He was tall with a balanced weight and was well built as well; he has a serious and conservative air about him although he doesn't call much attention to himself he was too handsome to let go unnoticed.

"Okay will everyone please give their undivided attention to me, I have an announcement to make about our schedule for today." With that the noise in the classroom diminished even more. "Okay, as you all know today is the day for your annual physical exam. The exam will be held later in the evening classes, the venue is in the infirmary and make sure to be..."

On the other hand while all the other students in the Hall were listening, in the back of the hall was a group of friends using their phones. And that group of friends was exactly Ruth and the others.

Successively on their phones they were all logged on to Facebook, each in their different accounts. On their phones they were messaging each other.

[Kyle] Guys did you receive the picture that Mrs. Hughes gave us already

Consecutive answers of 'Yes' were sent in their group chat.

[Theresa] LOL, wait what do we do again with da pics?

[Casie] she said that have to post it on our accts and advertise the game

[Theresa] Ahhhhh, okieee.

[Callahan] why are you guys using your phones during class

[Kyle] arent you doing the same

[Callahan] im special

[Madison] Waw, ha, special.

In real time at the classroom of the fourth years

Madison looks to Callahan smirks and punches him in the shoulder, resulting in a loud yelp attracting the attention of the class.

Sensing that people were looking at him Callahan forces a smile while rubbing his shoulder releasing an awkward laugh "Sorry, I accidentally hit my elbow on the corner of the table. It won't happen again."

In return their Advisor harrumphs in reply as she resumes her announcements and the whole class goes back to focusing their attention on her.

Glancing at Madison who doesn't even spare a glance and looks as if she didn't hit min just now, Callahan stomachs a bundle full of grievances.

Back to texting...

[Ruth] guys did u know that we r gonna meet our rival dis weekend

[Eleanor] waw, really

[Madison] Well, we must show our best behavior when meeting them.

[Theresa] I can't wait to play with them

[Callahan] Be good

[Christine] Yow, guys we fallin off track here

[Eleanor] yeah guys

[Liam] then what do type again??

[Casie] we are supposed to type things about the new game like join us to play this new game or smth

[Liam] okay

[Callahan] guys we should post it already

[Theresa] Fine, but like we can just post it later.

After a series of more conversations they finally posted the pictures in their respective social media accounts along with words 'Join us to play' and their own extra words in their own way to advertise.

After posting the pictures they immediately kept their phones with them. As it was still school and they might get caught by the teacher, but just after they kept their phones, the comment section exploded.

After they kept their phones they did different things occupying themselves. Like how Ruth and Casie were diligently copying notes and important points, while Eleanor and Kyle were just listening to the lecture and Theresa had already started to doze off listening to the lecture.

At the fourth year's side...

After posting the pictures instead of keeping her phone Madison opened another group chat and started texting in it. For Callahan, Liam and Christine they kept their phones and started doing different things like just watching the teacher, taking notes and listening to the lecture respectively.

The Teacher noticed that Madison wasn't paying attention in class and was using her phone but after a brief look at her, she harrumphed at the sight and continued with her lecture not at all reprimanding Madison, since it is common to see her not paying attention in class. She didn't bother with her since it was already good that she attended class today instead of skipping it.

For both groups the time they spent during class was spent normally like any average day.
