I Want Friends, So, I'll Protect Them!

(Note: I forgot that Green Bull's name is Aramaki so, I'll just change the name in future chapters 😉)

What the scientist, Bullet, Aramaki and the group of kids saw was surreal.

They saw Luffy Beating the crap out of the monsters and was still "fine".

"How is this possible?!" Scientist.

"No, no way…" Aramaki.

"Is that kid really that powerful?" Katakuri.

"Just as I expected from that guy's son." Bullet.

Green Bull looked at Bullet expecting an answer but he ignored him. (I want to make clear that Bullet and Green Bull are in a different room than the kids.)

"Hey! Explain what do you mean!" Aramaki.

"It seems that you didn't read his file, didn't you?" Bullet.

"Of course not!" Aramaki.

"Monkey D Luffy, Son of the antihero Monkey D Dragon, Grandson of the former #1 Hero, Monkey D Garp." Bullet.

Aramaki. dropped his jaw to the ground and became speechless.

"Seriously?! How did we managed to abduct the son of said monsters?!" Aramaki.

"It was all an unexpected turn of events. Dragon was in the lookout for our boss, he left Luffy with a trusted friend that ended up being one of our boss' inside agents."

"Unfortunately for him, Dragon catched up to him and killed him, However, Luffy fell from a cliff and was presumed dead. A pair of hillbillies found him and adopted him out of boredom and was raised by them, he was located by one of our agents months ago, we bought him and boom! He's here." Bullet.

"Dang.... I'm glad I didn't read the whole article. What about his father and grandpa?" Aramaki.

"His father left the Hero Association after killing his former friend, regardless of the situation, the Hero Association can't be related with someone that kills his "comrades." Though, they were just saving their faces."

"His grandpa created quite the ruckus that lasted for a whole year, but once All-Might became the Symbol of Peace, everything died down and the focus went to him. The last our spies got on him is that he became a teacher in a hero school in Brazil." Bullet.

"Is that why he's so strong?" Aramaki.

"Nope." Bullet.

"What do you mean?" Aramaki.

"When he was being raised, he consumed a large quantity of ingredients that would be deadly for a mere baby, however, it appears that his body adapted to it rather quickly." Bullet.

"Is it a quirk?" Aramaki.

"No, it's some sort of ability he was born with, the weirdest part was that when he was being transported to here, he ate a poisonous fire coral mushroom, and was destined to die before he could arrive, but he just slept and awake as if nothing had happened." Bullet.

"Whoa...… I hope the boss won't break them that fast." Aramaki.

"He will, and you know it." Bullet.

(Meanwhile Luffy)

It was already the tenth wave, Luffy was exhausted, regardless how awesome his background may be. He's still a 5 almost 6-year-old and his abilities were limited.

Monster after monster he punched and kicked them as much as he could, he was tired, hungry and thirsty.

The kids saw this and were saddened by the final moments of Luffy.

"He may be the one dooming us all but, I'll miss him." Nami.

"Yeah, I really wanted him to survive." Vivi.

"Are you guys dumb?! Because of him, we'll die for nothing!" Ulti.

"Yet, he's fighting with everything he has." Katakuri interrupted.

"What do you mean, Katakuri-dono." Yamato.

"Luffy's options were to fight or receive punishment. The thing is, only the first option allowed us to live." Katakuri.

"What?!" Everyone except Robin.

"The first option was that he would do the tests, with our difficulties stacked up. If he fails, dies, we'll all die as well. But the second option was just to be tortured, the rest of us would've been killed anyway." Robin explained calmly.

"Which means…" Usopp.

"That he's giving his all not only to save his life, but to save ours as well." Nami.

Nami begins to tear up and hugs Vivi.

Everyone felt awkward, they knew that Luffy wasn't a bad person, but they didn't expect him to be THIS kindhearted.

"GOMU-GOMU NO!!!!!!!" They heard from the monitor.

Luffy has his arm stretched back and twisted.

"RIFFLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Luffy shot his fist towards a line of monsters.

One, two, three, five, eight, with a single riffle he defeated 10 monsters at the same time. But now, it was his time to receive some damage.

A monster sneaked back to him and bite him in the shoulder.

The kid's eyes widened at the scene where Luffy's shoulder was dripping blood and he was trying to fend off the attacker. To no avail, the monster threw Luffy to a dark corner, where he was mauled by other beasts while yelling and screaming.

Nami couldn't see more of the bloodshed and ran towards the closed door.

"Luffy!!! Just give up!!! If you can at least live your last moments in peace, then there's nothing bad with some people dying!" Nami.

"Hey! Don't tell him that, don't you want to live!!" Ulti.

"Shut up!!! We don't know him at all, and neither does he, yet, he's still struggling to protect people that don't give a damn about him. HE'S BEEN HELPING AS MUCH AS HE COULD, WHY CAN'T WE HELP HIM LEAVE PEACEFULLY?!" Nami.

*BANG*

A loud noise came from the door and the kids watched the monitor. They saw Luffy standing up, with his right side covered in blood.

"Shut…! Up…! I'm the one who decides that." Luffy spoke and got closer to the monster. Everyone was curious about what he would do.

*CHOMP*

Luffy bit the flesh of the monster and began to eat it. he also drank its blood.

"I'll survive this thing…and so will you guys! I have no idea who you are, I'm also fighting for myself here so, after I finish kicking their asses...let's play allot afterwards!" Luffy.

Everyone was speechless and couldn't understand why Luffy did it.

'Ever since I woke up inside the car, I've been having weird dreams…dreams about a sad person, he hated everyone, and everyone hated him in return, he was alone, and despised the company others tried to give him, but also despised his loneliness. I really don't like that guy, he's very contradicting, but I feel that he doesn't like himself either.'

'I tried taking to him once, he told me: "I wish I could be like you, a free spirit in a world that binds our bodies, souls and minds. But my problem is not the world, that's just an excuse for me to push the blame, the real problem…IS ME."

'I didn't really understand what he meant, but he seemed really depressed. The guy then vanished into light and entered? My body…I think.'

'Since that day, I've had these wicked visions of adventures and techniques, he really was pitiful but, I sensed the same feeling of familiarity that I feel on those kids. After the visions showed me all that. I only had one thought in my mind…I want to be their friend!'

'I don't want to end up alone like he ended, I will have adventures, friends and live happy. For the sake of my life, and for the sake of the person…I WILL LIVE!!!' Luffy.

Luffy kept pummeling the monsters one after another, each time he felt weak, he would simply eat flesh from the monsters and their blood.

"He's still going." Commented Sanji.

"Yeah, hope he can survive." Brook.

The rest of the kids were saying similar comments and looked at Luffy killing beasts one after another.

Hours passed, one hour became two, from two to four, and then, before anyone could grasp how much time has passed, A WHOLE DAY PASSED SINCE LUFFY ENTERED THE CHAMBER.

Luffy looked like a soulless being, his eyes were blank due to his tiredness, he has injuries all over his body, his clothes, once white, are now tainted in read and are in tatters.

It would be an understatement that Luffy is now as wild as the beasts he was fighting.

"ARGH!!!!!!!!" The scientist began to smash some consoles in a fit of rage.

"How is he still standing?!! How is he still alive?!! He should be dead by now!!!" Scientist.

"That old man is going nuts GB." Bullet.

"Old man Garaki won't like that at all." Aramaki.

"Not it, you take care of it." Both of them.

They both stared at each other but heard a big explosion from the scientist's room. Both of them stormed in and found the scientist on the ground with burn injuries and the consoles destroyed.

"Damn! Oi Ceasar, what happened?!" Aramaki.

"I…I messed up." Ceasar spoke.

"What do you mean?" Bullet.

"I accidentally released 'that' specimen that the boss was working so hard on." Ceasar.

Both of their expressions turn pale.

"Why didn't you stop it?!" Aramaki.

"I tried but, it was too late, I was so angry that I accidentally let out too much propane gas and, and, a little circuit zapped and…well, you know the rest." Ceasar.

"Shit! We better take care of---" Bullet was interrupted by an alarm.

[WARNING: LAB STATION B-24 IS UNDER ATTACK, ACTIVATING TOTAL SHUTDOWN OF THE FACILITY.]

The lights turned red and the rooms began to shut with thick iron doors, including the ones where the kids where and the one of Luffy's chamber.

Luffy just regained consciousness thanks to the alarm and felt that something was bad. He didn't see it, neither did he hear it, but he could feel that there was something very powerful coming from one of the corners.

A big monster came out of the corridor and the door fell on him, he catched it with his bare hand and passed through without problems and slammed the door into the floor.

The monster was 2 meters tall and has a purple skin sharp claws and some sort of beak. (Basically, the first Nomu it was shown but more savage.)

Luffy looked at him at prepared a battle stance. In the blink of an eye, he got punched across the room and got slammed into a wall.

The kids got horrified at the scene, the big monster was slamming Luffy's head against the wall over and over again.

Luffy was feeling pain, the rubble from the wall was causing him some serious damage and he knew that he couldn't keep up with that.

'My techniques are going to evolve one step forward!' Luffy hears in his mind.

He gets the memory of a taller version of him getting into a crouching position and started pumping the blood into his body.

Luffy stretches his arm and grabs the monster's eye, the monster doesn't pay attention and keeps slamming him against the wall.

'Come on! If I fail…I'll die!!!' Luffy.

Luffy musters all the strength he has left and pulls as hard as he can.

The Monster stops for a second and grabs Luffy's arm, but its too late and he manages to rip its eye out.

The monster throws Luffy against another wall and begins to screech for his lost eye.

'It's now or never!' Luffy gets up and gets into the crouching position.

(Outside the chamber)

"I-I-I-Is he still alive?" Usopp.

"It seems like that." Hancock.

"We have to help him!" Nami.

"Are you an idiot?! Why should we help him fight that monster?!" Ulti.

"Nee-san, you are being mean." Pendragon.

"Who's being mean?!" Ulti begins to shake Pendragon.

"Still, if he dies, we die. The most logical option is to aid him somehow to prevent our demise." Katakuri.

"I didn't know you were such a kind person, Katakuri." Jinbe.

"I'm not, him living is just a synonym of me living as well. After the test he can die for all I care." Katakuri began walking towards the door.

"Ao! Guys, I think he's doing something very SUPER!" Franky.

All the kids look at the monitor and see the Luffy is enveloped in a type of smoke. Luffy's appearance becomes more visible, he has pinkish skin and the smoke was more like steam that was a result from his sweat evaporating.

Luffy taps the floor with his fist, ending his transformation.

"Gear...SECOND!" Luffy.
