1 Faded

He sobbed as the empty casket was slowly lowered into the space in the ground. Most people wore sun shades so as not to show their red swollen weeping eyes but John knew that not everyone hiding behind their sun glasses were crying, in fact he had this logic that one of them town citizens were responsible for whatever was happening right now and they would be smiling and grinning in their minds.

Mrs Williams was devastated, first her husband now her son. Nick's body had been found in his completely wrecked car with a body beyond recognition and a head that spilled out his brains. That sight too was devastating but at least he was found. Her son Kent went to a party after his team's memorable game and never came back home. His car was found abandoned on the side of west lane road without a scratch and all bright and squeaky clean as he always liked to keep it. He'd say "If I don't keep her clean how do you expect her to keep me clean and alive?". He was always still haunted by the death of his dad.

There was a trail of blood from the car to the woods till it stopped and there laid a hand. A whole arm still wrapped in the varsity jacket he had worn to the game or at least part of it.

The autopsy report confirmed it as the hand of Kent Gordon Williams. There was evidence of dragging of a body for there was blood drawn in a straight line of someone being dragged but the blood stopped few centimeters after. Further investigations led to a road block for baffling to every police officer there was no other trail of blood in the woods that followed and neither was there any evidence of a struggle in the car or any indications of a minor incident but a sample of cocaine was found on the driver's seat so the police took to that and confirmed he might have stopped to get high.

Claw marks were imbedded in the hand found , it was deep but was in the elbow region and still does not explain the slice from the shoulder. The opening of the arm that was formerly connected and to the scapula looked like it was sliced by a weapon. A fast rotating weapon, A rotor saw maybe was what was looked into. Throughout the whole investigations three things were clear to the police, the fact that he stopped to get high, and that he was attacked from a wild animal from the woods and was then maimed by a human before trying to escape and was whisked off maybe into the air since there was no continuous trail of blood.

Still Agnes wouldn't have it all, she knew her son never did drugs and was certain he wasn't getting high in his car at that moment.

She'd wept overnight after returning home from the crime scene along with her second son John. Though it was just an arm in that big casket, it felt really empty to her and every other person there concerned.

She pleaded with the sheriff to find her son as soon as he could two weeks after the incident. She was still certain then that he was alive with one of his arms maimed and trying to get back to her in anyway he could.

But the Sheriff will just sigh and say the same thing "The boy's gone Agnes, it's time to bury him and move on".

"The words 'move on' really hurt at that time but she herself knew it that she'd still at one point have to move on like in the time of her husband's demise.

Now she had all hopes lost staring at the casket that was now being buried and she'd burst into tears and fall on her knees and weep as loud as she can in the midst of everyone present for her boy's burial. His murderer must pay, she told herself.

Shelby wept as she saw her boyfriend's mom fall to his grave and she kept regretting the fight they had at the party and why he left early on his own. Maybe.. just maybe if that hadn't happen she wouldn't have to stand there without any shades and weep over someone she was ready to wait for even after college to get married.

Brian acknowledged the fact that he led his friend to the grave from that unfateful event that happened at the party and as he had told the authorities and everyone involved that know matter how much Kent had felt angry or emotional he could have never have touched the stuff they said they found in his car. "He could never, he hated that thing. Won't even want to be around it." he said to the officer he had been in the interrogation room with for the past fifteen minutes.

Although he gave every information he could he could still not conjure up any suspects from that party after all Kent was lived by the whole school..... Or was he?
