23 Indefinite Hiatus

I'm sorry to say to the readers who are following this, but I'm putting this whole thing on ice at the moment.

As I was revising the story, I realized that the mistakes I made weren't exactly small and the more I learn about writing the more troubling I find how I've been writing so far. While true, some editing should be able to salvage most of it, I feel it's best if I just rewrite the whole thing.

The thing is, apparently I have a problem when mixing tenses. I could edit out the present tense so that the whole thing is more consistent, but at the same time I also wanted to show the mindset of the characters as they go through the events, which I find awkward to write in past tense.

When I brought this up to a friend, he suggested a rather odd, but interesting idea. Rather than mixing up the tenses, I should use multiple different perspectives, namely, the third person perspective and the first person perspective, to switch around the view points of different characters and narrators when I feel the need to. It was an interesting idea, an idea I feel might serve this story better than how I've written it.

Unfortunately, while I'm thinking of rewriting this story from scratch, I also have another story on hold. This is the moment I realize what a terrible mistake it was to write two stories at once. Rewriting everything from scratch will take time, a good amount of time, and while I do that, everything will have to be on hold. So, I came to the decision to put this story on an indefinite hiatus until the other story I'm working on, the one going much more smoothly, is completed.

As this is the result of my poor decision making, I am terribly sorry to those of you following this story, but hopefully, some time soon, I will be back with a completely overhauled, new and improved Strangers From Another World for the pleasure of yours and mine.

Sorry for all of this, and I thank you for putting up with me.
