48 chapter 45- last one

Hey, guess what?

I had a bit of inspiration and wrote chapter 45 for real!

Since I am enlisting in a week's time, it won't really mean I'm going to continue this book, but I do hope for more inspiration to come hopefully.

Wu's POV:

After 4 days on the road, we are finally standing in front of GCC's main gates. I haven't been here in the last 40 years since I was 13 elven years old, and things sure have changed. The massive metal gates, made to stand an attack by powerful monsters, had their color starting to peel off and a few dents in them, where they probably withstood attacks by ferocious monsters. The grey brick walls were much higher now, at least 7 meters tall, and had thorny plants climbing up on their side. The number of people entering and exiting the place was also massive, counting hundreds of peoples in each direction. Suddenly I felt a tug at my shirt, making me move my sight to the small figure beside me.

"Wu! Look at all those people! I haven't seen that many since my last world!"

Because of his excitement, Earth forgot about the fact that he has been ignoring me for the last 4 days, ever since I pulled that stupid prank on him. He was examining his surroundings with his bright blue eyes and a visibly excited gleam shining in them, as he was pulling on my sleeve in a lack of focus.

'This is the first time in this world he sees that many people...'

My cute little bunny was catching some attention from the passerby people, making me narrow my eyes at them in a warning.

'He is mine! Stay away...'

Whenever they were caught by my stare, they all flinched and stirred clear of our direction. This way, our path to the gate guards was also cleared, making our entrance to the city quick and easy.

The city was just as bustling inside as it was outside.

Long rows of stalls were lined to the sides of the main street with each one trying to catch your attention with its unique products, appealing to the curiosity of the passing adventurers. Earth and I, for instance, didn't manage to pass the first 5 stalls without buying a few things.

"What is this stuff? It's like cotton candy!"

Earth was currently stuffing his face with some sweet tzemer-gefen, a kind of candy made out of sugar that is usually very popular with kids.

"This is called sweet Tzemer-Gefen and its made out of sugar."

I patiently explained to him while taking the time to wipe some residue of the candy from Earth's face, licking it off my finger when he wasn't looking.

"Oh? So it really is cotton candy!"

His eyes were shining with excitement at every new discovery he made, lifting my mood as well.

"So it's called cotton candy in your world... By the way, didn't you say that you didn't like sweet things?"

Earth froze at my words, probably feeling guilty for his actions that contradicted his previous words. He scratched his head in discomfort.

"It wasn't a lie, I really don't like sweet things. It's just that everything here is new so I have to try it all again, to know what I like and what I don't."

There was logic to Earth's words, but I wasn't buying his act so easily.

"Really? I feel cheated though... You gave me the cold shoulder for the last 4 days after telling me that I don't know you since I didn't know that you don't like sweets. How can you suddenly change your mind?"

I pretended to be offended by him.
