1 Idea #1 (Pokemon)

This idea is based off of a pokemon story where the main character doesn't have a select few pokemon or their evolutions on his/her roster.

These pokemon and their lineages include the Pidgeot line, the Lucario line, the Pikachu line, the Gengar line, the Gyarrados line, Eevee and it's evolutions, the Snorlax line, the Gliscor line, the Tyrranitar line, the Gardevoir line, the Grimmsnarl line, and any starter/legendary/shiny pokemon. (Sidenote: Shiny pokemon are fine in races that exhibit an insane race population like Magikarp, but there needs to be an emphasis on them being extremely rare, as rare as in the actual games)

What this is trying to achieve is a story where the main character recognizes that these select pokemon might be immensely powerful, but they believe that they can achieve (insert whatever dream) by training up pokemon outside the norm for a powerful/master pokemon trainer.

It is trying to showcase the fact that their are over 1000 pokemon in existence at the moment and almost every story you see about pokemon has at least one of the above mentioned lines in their team. Authors need to expand from what is the norm and look at the rest of the pokemon out there.
