world war II takes a different turn in this alternate reality we're Germany creates the first nuclear weapons but still loses world war II most of the world has been blown to hell and back as there's parts around the world where monsters and humans interact with one another well in other parts they kill one another in small cities known as guppies by those who are on the outside our places for only the higher end of the middle class or the top elites can live in peace from all the problems of the world our main character Jacob is raised in the guppies and is everyday calm and peaceful life he faces temptation and quickly encounters people of other origins than his hometown his perception of the world and the reality that he lives in slowly starts to fall apart as he's exposed to the brutal reality of the world that he lives in and as his father always says" just because you ignore the evil doesn't mean it's not there it'll always be there silently standing there watching waiting for vulnerability" will he be able to survive will he be able to keep everyone he loves and holds dear safe I just want safe hometown goes to hell being forced to survive in a world that is ruthless at best and downright horrendous and worst as the lines between good and evil slowly start to blur and in the end I have one question "so is the glass half empty or half full? I guess that's just for you to decide."
