7 You Are My Dream Guy

Did she miss me as much as I missed her? How is she now? Were her parents finally happy for managing to separate us?Does she even know I left Nairobi and that am now in Kisumu? Am I going to live thinking about her each and every second of my life?

" How many kids would you like to have?"

"Ten, eleven. Maybe a whole soccer team! "

We burst out laughing. She really was one of a kind.

"And what kind of a husband would you like him?"

"Huh! A guy who is sweet, caring, responsible, religious, funny, hardworking, selfless, passionate, outgoing, loves children and really handsome, just like you. "

She said in the sweetest voice I ever heard from her.

" You are my dream guy, Felix"

I blushed. She just knew how to get me.

"Catch me if you can!"

She broke free of my hold. I sprint after her but she just kept going in circles as she laughed really loudly. I managed to get a hold of her and we fell onto the grass. She was just on top of me. All of a sudden, she got off me and started rolling down the slope.

I rolled after her and I was able to catch up to her. We held hands and rolled to the base together while screaming at the top of her lungs. She was quite a fun person for someone studying medicine.

When we reached the bottom, we dove into the ice cold water of the stream that passed by.

I wanted us to get stuck in this world of no worries, where I could cuddle her, sing to her and do all sorts of fun things together without the judgemental world we loved in. I simply could not imagine life without her, my Lily.

"Please promise never to leave me Felix. No matter what may come our way."

" I promise Lily. I love you more than anything in the world."

I then splashed her with water.

" You crossed the line dude."

She burst into laughter and started a water war.

The honking of a car brought me back to reality.

Why did I feel so excited all of a sudden? What had gotten over me?

"Are we expecting visitors bro?"

"None that I know of. Maybe paps friends. I will go see who it is."

I then went into my bedroom to change into more presentable clothes.

"Hey dude, come see who it is!" Lui screamed.

I sprinted outside like I had seen black mamba in my room. Who could it be?

"Felix!"

Before reality hit me, Lily jumped into my arms.

"This is impossible! Is it you hun?"

I lifted her up and twirled her until I saw her parents standing there, their jaws practically dropping.

I put her down and stared at the ground in embarrassment.

"What are you doing here?"

Her father cleared his throat rather loudly.

"Um, I am sorry. Please come in. Welcome to our humble home."

I silently led them into our living room. Though our place was not as fancy as theirs, it was able to comfortably fit us all, that is, her parents, her sister, Lily, my dad, my brother and I.

What was the ocassion?

I decided to introduce her parents to my father since he was still very confused.

"So dad, this are Mr and Mrs Simon Maina and Mr and Mrs Maina, this is my dad, Mr Stephen Okelo."

They stared at each other for quite some time before the two men pulled themselves into an embrace.

" It is you pal. It has been long"

"Oh my! I never thought we would ever meet each other again."

" Hey Susan. How have you been?"

We all stared at them in confusion.

"You guys know each other!" Lily managed to matter.

" Yeah! We went to campus together until Stephen here decided to drop out. We were dormmates and most especially, best friends. We were a clique of three amazing friends."

" But I don't understand. If you were best friends, why do you hate Luos so much dad!"

" We fell in love with the same girl!"

Mr.Simon smirked.

" What!" Me, Lily, Lui and Ivy gasped.

"And you will never guess who it is. When she chose me, Stephen got so angry and decided to drop out"

Mrs Susan was grinning from ear to ear.

" We have a lot of catching up to do. You kids can hang out elsewhere and we can discuss the day's agenda over lunch later."
