Myer Colt started working at his father’s business, Colt Branding, quit after two days, and then took a plane to Seattle, Washington. A rumor floated about West Stockton that said he had met a city boy at the Linear Bar and ran off with him.

I didn’t despise Myer, although many cowboys did. Frankly, I was happy for him, wished him well on his travels, and hoped that he was going to find love.
