12:30 p.m.- Mr. Walter's Basement

I fell asleep where Shyla left me to the hum of the furnace. I hear a click and heavy steps down the stairs.

"Adelyn, I brought you some food." an unfamiliar calming voice echoes in the basement.

It didn't sound like Shyla or Mr. Walter. Who was it then? I inhale the musty, humid air before peeking by head slightly around the corner so I could see the unfamiliar voice.

" Adelyn, I know you're here. I brought you some stuff. "

"What do you want? Who... who are you?" I muttered with a cry. Light footsteps come over around the corner.

" I'm Kerry, Shyla's mother. I brought you a sandwich, Oreo's and some milk. A growing kid needs calcium to make their bones strong." she says softly like a lullaby.

"I'm not five! I don't need calcium. Just, just leave me alone!"

" Okay. I'll leave you alone. Come up if you need anything." Kerry comforted.
