10 Chapter 10

Day 10- 11:30 a.m.- Courtroom

The cold wooden seat is intimidating, especially when you are sitting in front of your kidnappers. I testified against Mr. Walter, Kerry and Shyla. There was a lot of tears and emotional breakdowns from the horror of those nights. When Shyla goes up to testify, she doesn't start talking about me, but her parents.

" I was born in Boston. One day when I was four, two strangers abducted me," she said with a pained tone." and those to people are sitting right there." she pointed at Kerry and Mr. Walter. " They tortured me until I learned to not argue with them. From that, I developed Stockholm Syndrome." Shyla cried out as she rambled on.

After an hour and a half, the judge declares Mr. Walter with a felony of second-degree kidnapping with five years imprisonment, Kerry with 15 years in prison for child endangerment and first-degree kidnapping. Shyla, however, is on parole for five years now. I'm just happy now that I can sleep knowing other children don't have to go through what I went through from them.
