1 Retriever Abominable

In a kingdom far far far away, Boston, Massachusetts, lives my brother who is a major dog lover and have been wanting his own puppy ever since. The only obstacle between him and his puppy is my fur allergy that I recently diagnose with. BOOM! Drop the mic! My brother and I become instance enemy! Well...a 13-years old boy who is quite spoil, do not understand anything beside his own logic and his final trump card is that I like him, a little! And I, an adult starting college soon argue everyday on this topic till our parents don't ever bother to separate us anymore. A bit childish of me, I know! (I'm competitive).

My allergic to fur and dog is not as serious as the others, so I can be around them and play with them, all I need is a morning allergy pills and nose spray. I use these items daily anyway so it was no big deal. But....I am that fuss! When he ask for the puppy, I can see my own future right there and then! Alright?

Before going any deeper, you should know that our house consist of only three siblings! No parents! I'm the oldest! The only adult! Hahaha........ My mom and dad lives abroad, so they always spoils us and let us have our way more than we should be allow. My brother is an animal lover but he lose his interest quickly. He want what he doesn't own and forget what he has. Well.....he's a kid after all. Before the puppy war, I, personally got him a cockatiel, a turtle, and a hamster. The story always have the same beginning and ending.

It starts with a powerful heartfelt speech of my brother that he is going to take care of the animal, all the maintenance and he will do all the chores...blah blah blah. A week in, I am the one who check the water bowl and food. A month in, I'm the one who clean the cage. As time pass, the little brother duties turn to be only playing with the animals, no maintenances! Only the fun part! At last, because I can't stand the dirties, and the smell, I always the one who do all the cleaning since it's too hard to get that kid to finish his chores!

Now you know my struggle! The puppy is cute and all, but....by the look of the history of our pets, I'm going to end up taking care of the all the extrasssss. I'm back to work at the company now and I'm working remotely which mean I'm going to see the dog and my brother all the time making a mess everywhere. GOSH! I'm already getting a headache thinking about it. I seriously don't want it!

With the pandemic, we are all feeling down and my brother has remote school which mean he barely leave the house anymore and it quite sad. My parents think the same way and has been trying to ease up the conversation with me and persuade me to get a dog for months now. I believe they waiting for the right moment to attack me altogether, cause yesterday the topic was brought up again with a strong back story this time. The spirt of Christmas. Treat it as his Christmas present. I'm a total sucker for holiday, what can i say? It my quirk! It put me in a good mood when I get to redecorate and go all out in the holiday spirit.

Keep it short!! I am easy to manipulate in the holiday season. A beautiful golden retriever has already been order and will be arrive a week before Christmas just for surprise purpose. I truly, utterly believe the puppy will be the abomination of me, but I do like my brother, a little, so It's okay! I'm guess!
