Chapter 9

One week had passed since Roland had become King of the Phoenix Kingdom, formerly known as the Hildegard Kingdom. The war, if you could even call it that, ended in a day. All nobles and their families were killed, this gave him the love of the people, because nobles were very often cruel and corrupt, overtaxing the people. One of the first things he did was writing new laws and they would be enforced by his Bots, impartial and incorruptible law enforcement.

Roland also started renovating the entire Kingdom: slums were torn down and replaced with appartment buildings, streets were paved, schools, clinics etc. built, electrical lights and appliances were introduced and a sewer system was being built. On the military side of things, all Villages, Towns and Cities were fortified with better walls, machine guns, flak guns and artillery emplacements. The quality of life was improving very fast, as was his army.

He'd switched from using Simpfilied Basic Bots to Basic Bots.

[Basic Gunbot (needs 1.0Ag to function): a Bot equipped with 6 15mm machine guns. Required: 400kg of iron ore, 100kg of copper ore.]

The Simplified Bots were kept to serve as patrol and law enforcement, while the Basic Bots became the main military force. Roland also came up with a contigency plan in case of very strong enemies, he could not assume that his current forces were enough to defeat everyone. Therefore he'd built 20 missile silos, armed with 10 Basic CBMs (Continental Ballistic Missile), 5 Basic Nuclear CBMs and 5 ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile), as a way to deal with big threats, both nearby and far away.

[Basic CBM: Capable of wiping out all live, under Level 1 Realm Knight, in a radius of 150-300m. Strike range: 1,000km.]

[Basic Nuclear CBM: capable of wiping out all live, under Level 10 Realm Knight, in a radius of 0.5-2km. The area of the blast will be unhabitable for 200 years. Strike range: 800km.]

[Basic ICBM: capable of wiping out all live, under Level 5 Realm Knight, in a radius of

200-600m. Strike range: 5,500-6,000km.]

His personal strength also never stopped improving. Roland had found the Hildegard Grand Knight Manual and many others Knight Manuals, among the things he'd taken from the dead nobles and royalty. After combining and impoving them, the AI chip came up with the [Phoenix Realm Knight Manual, possilbe to use till Level 1 Realm Knight. Easiest to use.]. He'd trained the [Improved Rowe Knight Manual] as fas as it could go, and after switching to his new Phoenix Manual, Roland broke through to Level 1 Grand Knight, becoming the strongest man in the Phoenix Kingdom.

Roland now wanted to start his own human army, because he wanted more than just having Bots around him. To start he gave Alice the [Improved Rowe Knight Manual] and she had surprisingly much talent as a Knight, in the week she trained with the manual, she became a Level 5 Apprentice Knight.

The most important thing Roland did in this week, was checking the treasury. His personal fortune before he became King was: 362,177 gold coins; 78 silver coins and 15 copper coins. The total amount in the treasury now was a combination between his fortune, the previous amount in the treasury and the wealth of all the nobles, totalling 78,966,235 gold coins; 61 silver coins and 12 copper coins. After his Kingdom renovation plan, there was just a little over 20,000,000 gold coins left. After balancing the treasury, Roland had a Small Basic Super Computer and some Basic Administrationbots built to run the Kingdom. These Bots and Computer were linked and could do all the paperwork and administration for his Kingdom, removing the need for nobles.

After settling everything for the Kingdom, he decided to take a small vacation with his maid Alice.
