Chapter 13

Roland spent the next week renovating his Kingdom, building it up to the standards of the 23rd century. Villages didn't exist anymore and even the smallest Town in the Kingdom still had many skyscrapers. All farming was now done in automated greenhouses, this combined with cheap housing in the skyscrapers and the removal of the nobles, made the lives of the commoners much better. He didn't give them too many electrical appliances, appartments had things like a vacuum cleaner and an electrical furnace but no things like a television. The country was a mix of half middle ages and half 23rd century. Blacksmiths still made tableware, carpenters still made furniture and so on, but there were also things like electrical lights.

Of course that was only for the country and it's inhabitants, Roland's Castle and the military were already in the early 25th century. He had removed the walls around every Town and City and built a "Great Wall" around his entire country. It was a very big project, 40m high, 25m wide, made of reinforced concrete with a 5cm wide plate of steel in the middle, but his Bots completed it in just a week. There was a tower every 150m along the wall, they were 55m high and were armed with 30 12.7mm machine guns, 6 20mm flak guns, 5 180mm artillery pieces, 2 12 barreled rocket launchers and a Small Stationary Railgun.

His country became impenetrable to anyone below Second Order Warlock and even they had to be carefull, after all one Railgun can easily kill a First Order Warlock, so thousands of them could kill a Second Order Warlock. Enough ants can kill an elephant.

Roland also built a special unit of [Basic Costum Bots], they're Bots he designed himself. He named them [Basic Armored Laserswordbot].

It was basically a more armored version of the Basic Swordbot, but with Laserswords instead of steel swords. He made 500 of them, he wanted to make more but couldn't at the moment. To make them he needed a rare ore of this world called Fire Steel Ore, to make Fire Steel, and so far he'd only found enough to make 500 Laserbots. Still, it was enough to steamroll the entire Barren Subcontinent.

But he didn't want to do that. While Roland could directly make the entire Subcontinent into his Kingdom, he didn't see the need anymore. Most of his resources were mined at the seabed of the ocean and he didn't need a workforce because of his Bots. So he decided to vassalize the remaining 80% of the Subcontinent, they could remain as independent Duchies and Kingdoms, but they had to listen to his commands first. It would spare him a lot of trouble.

And so Roland sent out his Laserbots with letters to the 15 Kingdoms and 45 Duchies that remained, demanding their vassalization. If they became vassals, they could remain as is, only needing to pay a certain monthly tribute. If they refused, the Laserbots would kill all nobles and royals and he would just take it over.

While waiting for the replies to his letters, he went through all the libraries in his Kingdom. Roland managed to discover what came after Realm Knight, it was Earth Knight Level 1 to 10, unfortunately he couldn't upgrade the Phoenix Realm Knight Manual, he had too little data for that. But the greatest discovery was some ancient Apprentice Warlock's notes and after reading them, he could finally see his Spirit stat.
