10 Chapter 10

For his vacation, Roland had built a private, luxurious resort, manned by Bots, by the seaside. In his previous life, the thing he enjoyed the most, next to his research, was swimming. When he had the time or needed a break from research, he would swim. And now that he had the time, he would like to swim again. He had put a week aside for this vacation.

This resort was not so big, as it was private, but he'd built some bigger ones for the public too. There were 5 bungalows, a waterpark, complete with slides, multiple pools and a jacuzzi, last but not least, there was an all you can eat buffet restaurant. Roland had it built to the highest possible standards he could currently achieve.

At the moment, he was sunbathing next to the pool. Alice stood next to him in a swimsuit, Roland convinced her to put it on, saying "You need suitable attire on a swimming vacation". After sunbathing for an hour or so, he went into the pool. He was very happy to be able to swim again and started swimming laps. 30 laps later, he asked Alice to join him in the pool, just swimming laps is boring too.

"Alice, come join me in the pool, this is a vacation, no need to be so tense."

"I can't swim master."

"Just come in the shallow area, I'll teach you."

Seeing that she could not refuse, she went into the shallow area. When she got into the pool, Roland came and told her how to swim, giving a small demonstration. Knowing that that wasn't enough to learn how to swim, he took her in his arms, soliciting a small blush from Alice, and taught her the leg movements. After a while, Alice got the swing of it and could swim pretty well, Roland didn't find it strange she got the hang of it so quickly, Alice was a Level 5 Apprentice Knight after all. Seeing her swim, Roland playfully splashed her with some water and they got into a little water fight. They played in the water till evening and then went to the restaurant.

In the restaurant Roland told Alice to sit over him, there was no need to wait upon him this evening. The dinner was buffet style, something Alice had no experience with, so Roland went with her explaining the dishes and putting some things on her plate. They enjoyed a wonderfull dinner together, talking late into the night.

A week went by in a similar fashion, swimming and dining with Alice every day, but to all things must come an end and the vacation was over. He had to go back to governing, but not really, everything was great for his Kingdom. What he really needed to go back to, was conquering. Roland wanted to be in charge of the Barren Subcontinent.
